This board is probably for more technical things, but I was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm looking for a windows laptop to buy and I don't know which one is really good for the price, meaning the best laptop specs-wise for $1000 or under.

Specs wise? Acer
Any specific laptop in mind?

What site can you order from? Country?
What usage, games, office, design, photo editing?
I can order from pretty much any site. I'm in the US and looking for laptops that can run games that would usually task more cheap models

Acer VX15 is pretty good for the price, you can add an hdd yourself. I have one and not disappointed. Linux works well too.

HP 8770w.
They can handle up to Maxwell generation nvidia MXM cards from my experience but they don't take kindly to BIOS or CSM booting, you HAVE to use UEFI unless you want to stick your bootloader on a USB.
Pop and M3000M, M4000M, or an M5000M and you have a monster of a laptop.
Works in linux but you'll probably have to do some binary fuckery to whitelist drivers in windows.
