Today i dreamed about hacker invading my computer and posting o softpedia forum. Anyway why windows 10 better then 7?
>>56303942
7 is deprecated
Just pirate Win 10 Enterprise LTSB and disable all the other shit.
>>56303942
It's not, in any way.
>PHABLETS
when this meme will die?
>>56303904
Only the word is a meme. Big phones are the new norm, and should only need to be referred to as "phones". Get bigger hands if it's a problem, manlet.
Above what size are phones deemed phablets anyway?
Bigger screen means more comfortable viewing of videos and websites. Only downside is it's hard to operate with single hand.

>>56303867
These aren't allowed here any more.
>>56303886

Do you remember when you enjoyed getting emails?
>>56303829
>Do you remember when you enjoyed getting emails?
No because I've literally never enjoyed getting any emails.
>>56303829
I still do because I'm not an idiot who gives it to every website.
>>56303829
I still do because Gmail's spam filter is amazing.
What does /g/ think of projectors? I'm moving out and thought it could be pretty pimp to have a projector so I can watch hi-def tentacle porn on my wall, maybe even use it for vidya.
What do I get if I don't want to get jewed like all the normies who will literally vomit cash on anyone selling an ~authentic home cinnamon experience~
Surely /g/ has an opinion on these things?
>>56303808
I've had a couple.
You can't have too much light or resolution.
You can have too much weight and noise.
Check how long the lamps last and how much they cost.
Don't get a Business Graphics projector (nice and cheap) unless you like your PR0N in 16 colors.
There are shitty ones for as little as $200-300 but you'll regret it.
The minimum entry price for getting an acceptable projector is $800-1000.
That buys a lot of HDTV these days.
>>56303808
Look at native resolution, the input resolution they advertise is bullshit. Usually if the projector is >$1000 it's worth considering. Keep in mind the bulbs last about 3 years and cost between $200-350.
Anyone else here rocking a generic power supply?
Got a Shaw 860w tri-fan here and it's pretty comfy
>>56303777
Anybody else here like to gouge their own eyes out and bang their heads against the wall every morning?
I do it twice a day and it's pretty comfy
>>56303777
How do I install vlc or mphc from usb to a computer with no internet?
Can you just copy the folder you have installed already and pu the folder into usb and than transere the folder to the other computer with no internet?
I know this will trigger autistic nerds but I really have no idea if this will work or not
Install MPV instead. It's a standalone/portable folder with local install script.
>>56303603
from where?

>Ask for help
>Call people autistic nerds
Dude, you need to learn how to approach people better
My 15 year old daughter wants a macbook. I cant justify spending so much on a shitty facebook machine just because all her friends have one. Or is it really worth it? How can I sell her some other decent laptop?
Rape her until she comes to her senses
Just buy it her and make her happy.
>>56303524
I guess this is the only reasonable thing to do.
Just bought a galaxy s6 edge+ on ebay. during setup a message appeared saying "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device"
is there any way I can bypass this? I dont want to have to buy another phone
>>56303509
Unlock the bootloader and reflash it.
Basically, it was stolen.
Give the phone back Jamal
>>56303570
thought that might be the case. can you give me more specific instructions please?
Hey, /g/, how do You cool your favourite beverage?
>>56303477
I don't. I'm not a manlet who can't drink my coffee hot
>>56303490
>Not drinking perfect 70°C earl grey
>>56303477
Do you enjoy drinking dust?
Using a Peltier cell would be clever
Why would you use that rubbish if it doesn't play html5?
Nobody does
>>56303419
My browsers supports HTML5 video and I still don't use it for videos. Video players are for playing videos.
that's a feature
How does one create a Gmail ID without giving away my number to botnet?
I need a Gmail account for university purposes.
My laptop's gone for repair, so I'm using my phone.
>>56303405

I work with kids 12-18 who have autism/Asperger's. They were gonna throw out this shitty old Dell because a kid kicked the front part of the case off, but I'm pretty sure it still works. I wanna format it and put Ubuntu on it.
I've only put it on one computer, so I'm far from an expert. Beyond getting it installed, I'm looking for tips on the following:
1) Applications and games that would be good for kids with sensory sensitivities. Is there some equivalent to the Play store that would be easy to shop through stuff? Any games would be good, especially things that can be saved at any point (lots of arguments about getting off the games when their time is up)
2) What's the best music app? I want to be able to have a lot of calming music on there, but is there any music player that requires permission to add/delete music? Otherwise, they're going to constantly be asking to use it to put their dumbshit music on it and burn CDs and whatnot. Even if that's not an option, what's your recommendation for something simple and straightforward?
3) Security. I know Linux, at least in setting it up, involves some degree of entornetting, but I'm not sure if it's gonna be connected or not. We do have an overactive firewall that blocks basically the internet. It'd be a lot easier if maybe I had to log them in to open the browser or something. I'm more worried about them putting crap on there with flash drives, etc. I don't really have specific concerns, but I want it to feel more like a workstation with specific applications they can use, rather than a wide open computer for them to be devious teenagers about. I'm sure they'll still find ways to get in trouble with it but I think if there's enough good stuff to do, they'll be less likely to think of hoodrat things to do to impress their friends.
Any other things I should consider?
Come on I know at least 50% of you have autism so you should be able to help me
>>56303228
>help me make a computer for myself
Just let them play Minecraft
