Why aren't laptop heatsinks soldered on? I can't think of anything that would conduct the heat better than metal itself, so why isn't it used in laptops?

Can someone please explain to me why average monitors that you buy at stores today are only 1080p? For $200, you get a monitor that you can barely see a third of an average article on. You have to scroll and scroll to see the rest.
A fucking ipad has 2732x2048 resolution yet my monitor is 1920x1080. My phone also has a higher resolution and pixel density than my monitor as well!
What the fuck is going on??? How the fuck do these manufacturers get away with this shit? This is a fucking scam.

I'm thinking of making my personal computer a virtual server, so it would be simpler to reboot, save snapshot, duplicate, multiboot, have clean installs, sandbox, etc.
Is this a good idea ? Why do we still use desktop computer with OS directly installed instead of a virtualisation server, cause it seems really convenient to me.

Hey /g/ I was bored yesterday and decided to set something new up. I followed the advice that you guys gave me and ordered a VESA mount for my TV (Should get here tomorrow)
Well I was wondering where you guys put your computers. Is it better to put it on the floor or desk? I put my PC on the floor and I noticed that temps might have increased a few C, another issue that I have is that it could possibly be an issue for leg space.
Anyways what should I do for my current situation?

I just acquired Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver... with a bunch of other software. I am, however, stuck with only a Magic Mouse. Are Wacom Pen Tablets the absolute paranormal experience for making gif, png, and jpg's? I have never used one before (dont laugh).

Due to Bornstein reportedly using an outdated operating system, he could possibly be in violation of HIPAA.
HIPAA requires that medical doctors protect the private information that they collect on their patients by making continued security updates to their computer systems.
