>chrome is a ram hog guise
when will this meme die?
>>58446623
Are you retarded? Chrome opens multiple processes, a separate one for each tab and each extension. Nice bait.
>>58446623
Never because there will always be poor people with 2-4GB of RAM, or retards like >>58446636

You were saying? It's not a ram hog but you're full of shit.
Hey guys just want a bit of serious advice, what exactly is important to focus on while in University?
Should I be investing my free time into a specific language and area as a final year CS student? How exactly does job/internships work? Are you supposed to submit application while you're still in school or what?
University also seems to be more of a general broad overview of different things in CS rather than specifically going in depth to a certain language/area, is this a problem or a good thing for most Universities?
Would like some real advice from people who are actually working right now and any heads ups/tips
Thanks, have a nice day
Make friends and connections.
That's all that matters.
If you spend your time playing LoL, you will graduate jobless.

anime.

That's all that matters.
Only if you don't have skills in CS and need to makeup for that.
Saying that connections is all that matters for a software engineering student is laughable. Of course connections are important, but out of all majors CS doesn't really need to cruise on those roles.
OP. I just graduated a month ago. Let me be quick. INTERNSHIPS INTERNSHIPS INTERNSHIPS. They are the most important and influential part of college by far, no exam or class will come close. Take them very seriously and apply a lot.
Also: Don't expect to excel just doing class work. The best in CS almost always learn through self-interest and hobby projects. Don't be another average CS vegetable.

why are you continuing to support a dying market?

people build their own computers or buy of the internet or buy second hand or all sorts. These stats are poorly developed.
>>58446514
maybe if they didn't fucking overprice their craptops and shittowers
>>58446564
Maybe if they actually had well-put-together machines with decent parts
Maybe if Best Buy didn't only put HP towers in their stores
Maybe if in the year two thousand seventeen anno Domini there wasn't such a high level of ease of access and installation and a wealth of information available driving these inferior builds out of the market

Will Vega be enough to push 120+Hz @1440p?
I ask this because I'm looking to upgrade GPU and monitor this year, but I don't feel like biting the Nvidia G-Sync tax. Currently going 970GTX with 60Hz@1080p, but after seeing 100+Hz displays in action, I really want it for my home system. Only looking to do games like Overwatch for those high frame rates, but not sure if AMD is a viable option for a GPU that will last 2-3 years at 1440p.
Easily
>>58446263
Vega is built for 4k
1440p is fucking nothing for that GPU.
>>58446263
Yes, but the problem is that UHD@120/144 Hz displays are coming out this year, so 1440p120 will be poorfag tier before you know it.
Just how the hell do you pick the correct one?
>>58446120
Go on logicalincrements. There's a complete build guide there by a friendly local tripfag, and it covers PSUs.
Use a wattage calculator to figure out what size you need.
mine came out to 394w, right now im using a 500w psu, upgrade?
The vast majority of laptops do not have glass trackpads. Off the top of my head there's no more than 5 laptops which do. Why do manufacturers continue to make laptops with fucking plastic trackpads which after 6 months of use start to feel like rubber or vinyl? Is it really that hard to include glass trackpads? Apple have been doing it since 2008.
I bought a ThinkPad, a new one, about 1 year ago now and already the textured trackpad lost its texture and is now just shiny and has a lot of friction. Its a terrible user experience. The clitmouse isn't amazing either. Its usually buggy and its self calibration seems to happen way too often. Its not usable for more than a few seconds at a time.
I won't even get on to plastic chassis laptops, that's a clear money saving issue because CNC machining isn't cheap. Plastic wrist rests start to look shit after about 6 months, specially on a black laptop like this ThinkPad. I can't imagine a glass textured mouse costs that much to include though.
nice blog
>>58446093
Do people really use touchpads? I feel like a retard when I try to use one.
Wireles mouse always. touchpads are cancer
>>58446241

Touchpads can be really great
How come pc towers aren't being built with bluray drives?
Because no one buys Blu-ray lol. If you want one put it in yourself
>>58446037
Welcome to digital age anon. Physical copies are dying as SSDs become better (faster loading/higher capacity for storage)
>>58446068
>Because no one buys Blu-ray
I sometimes buy Blu-Rays of independent films even tho I don't have a drive, after I downloaded the film on private trackers.
In 10-15 years we will have TVs that are 8K and run at 120fps. The only step I can imagine beyond this is some sort of liquid image that uses no pixels, but with 8K 120fps, will that really even be necessary unless it was more economical? At that point, will the human eye even be able to tell that it's not real? Maybe then they can start working on holodecks.
I don't get why everyone hated on in-home 3D. It seems like the next logical step - we have crystal clear pictures, the only bit that's lacking is depth. But OH NO we couldn't have something cool, and so it went away.
>>58445944
Implying stupid consumers won't buy 16K 240fps or whatever cause they don't know shit and only look at the TV Wich has the highest numbers..
The TV market knows this and they'll milk it for as long as possible.. is all about da Benjamin's.
>>58447587
because it was horrible compared to movie theatre 3d and caused nausea in a great many people.
I bought a pre-assembled PC with pretty good hardware but windows 10. I installed windows 7 via DVD but consequentially lost all of the drivers i.e. No internet, no USB, no sound. What can I do?
>>58445888
logic would dictate killing yourself, but perhaps you would benefit from getting the fucking drivers
>>58445888
Burn USB drivers to a cd/dvd and install, then get the rest with USB.
>>58445888
install linux, it has all drivers built in so it's ok for people like you :)
