Is AMD kill?
Are Ryzen and Vega not enough to make it competitive again?
>>61161917
Zen has delivered a swift kick in the balls to Intel in their core market (servers). Vega may or may not even be competitive anymore depending on drivers. Future looks good for Zen, not so much for Vega.
>>61161917
Considering vega is a massive flop, their mobile APUs look like housefire shit.
As of this moment, AMD has a probability of about 75% to go FINISHED&BANKRUPT in the next 9 to 12 months.
Hope this helps OP.

how to repair cracked open cold lcd screen with the bois
Sold my decent (8320e rx470 8gb]mid range rig a few weeks ago. Wasn't planning on getting another pc soon but Picked up a Opteron 990 with i5 2500 8gb ram 1208th Samsung 840 for 100. Picked up a never used antec 620w 80bronze for 35.
I just came back with a new 1050ti ssd because the 7870le I had I couldn't find. Well came home... Found the 7870le.
I mostly do mid setting 1080P gaming wow, overwatch, various titles. Should I just stick with the 7870le and save the money for my next build or is the 1050ti noticeably better?
So far the 7870 supposedly has more "grunt" but less ram and none of the new tech

networking seems less soul crushing. probably just going to do contract work and then NEET for months anyway though
mom keeps filling her computer with viruses that i waste my time deleting every 3 months or whenever i come home from my uni. i'm thinking of installing a linux distro that looks like windows so she can't fuck it up anymore. she only opens chrome, firefox and skype anyway. what is the best distro and theme for this? i'm not a haxor linux user either, i've been only using xubuntu for a year or so. laptop is some acer shit.

Did you make her account separate from the admin one? Easy as that.
rolling release distro like arch is actually worse for custimization because you constantly have to recompile shit every week to keep up; it actually pidgeon holes you to use whatever packages it provides / on the aur by psychologically torturing you
like making you spend 8 hours compiling gcc63 and firefoxgtk2 just so YOU DONT HAV ETO USE THE STUPID GTK3 FILEPICKER
every single thing you try and change just commits suicide two weeks laters; using arch is torture
have fun fixing your fonts every month
only an autistic retard or a normie who only uses official packages would ever use this distro
>>61161163
Been on Linux exclusively for almost a decade, have yet to *have* to compile. Did occasionally to get a bleeding edge mplayer, but not at all recently.
>>61161163
so what should we try else? Gentoo?
>>61161186
obviously you fit into the normie use case then
might as well ubuntu; why do you need to be on a rolling release distro theres zero point ever

General:
ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
The Ryzen lineup comes with exceptionally good stock coolers. (with the exception of the 1600X) consider using them over any sub 35USD cooler.
Yes! 7700k back on the OP!
AMDbros blown the flip out

It does have it's place in there, although only for 144hz builds. It's not like a 1500x is going to achieve this kind of framerate.

Pro tip:
>You cant
>Let's just make our software so vital for business practice that nobody can get rid of us because we know we suck
>>61160421
I've only worked with SAP once, it was so badly implemented I refuse to believe it's because the software itself it that shitty and it only was due to crappy implementation by the IT team.
>>61160421
You literally can't name a worse software application than this piece of shit. Had to work with it for ten years (just left the job, in part due to S.A.P). The thing still runs like something from the 1990's.
I wake up everyday and praise Allah that today I'm not dealing with S.A.P errors.
>>61160592
Nope, it's the software itself
Hell, most modules only allow one person to edit a project at a time with no ability to send a request to the person to get off
I work in a company of nearly half a million employees across the world, if some guy in Germany left work in the afternoon with a project document open that I need to work on, I literally have to sit there all day and wait, I don't even know who it is or which plant it is.
It's awful
-T420 chassis
-4k screen
-Ryzen 7 / Core i9 CPU
-AMD Vega / 1080 ti GPU
-Default OS: you can choose between Windows XP Gold / Clover OS / Temple OS / Moebuntu
-10TB Dual SSDs
-128 GB of RAM
-Default browser: ungoogled chromium
-Default video player: mpv
-Default music player: mpd
-keyboard's "windows" key automatically takes a screenshot, opens browser and creates a memetop thread in /g/

what else?
SCART port
>>61160351

id prefer e4300 with blue magnesium cover desu, looks sick, but sure why not
>-4k screen
a bit too much maybe, 1440p should be fine too, save on battery
>-Ryzen 7 / Core i9 CPU
just fuck my battery up, no thanks, what it needs is a decent amd apu with no more thna 4 cores
>-AMD Vega / 1080 ti GPU
see above, apu is enough gpu power without destroying battery life
>-Default OS: you can choose between Windows XP Gold / Clover OS / Temple OS / Moebuntu
doesnt matter ill install debian anyway
>-10TB Dual SSDs
for what purpose? two 256gb nvme ssd is enough
>-128 GB of RAM
for what purpose? 8gb ram is enough, make it fast

>-Default video player: mpv
doesnt amtter

implying my windows key isnt already bound to this :^)
>-available colors: thinkpad black and owo pink
blue and red is basic human right, silver should be included too and maybe orange
>-available only used
no ty i like my device without cum stains on them
what else?
Serial port for remote kernel debugging obviously
I've read that 32 bit will be obsolete by 2038. 128 bit os when?
Maybe after we get real 64 bit cpus

>128 bit os when?
When we need to do 128 bit math in any large volume or need to address more memory than currently possible.
Probably never, we'll have hit the hard limit of what we can do with computers before then. As it turns out, two to the power of 64 is a really large number.

What's the difference between these two? I'm wanting to get an SSD for my PC so my OS can run at a higher speed. The card is much cheaper though, so what's the difference?
One is a card and the other is not.
speed
>>61158148
MX300 series will be a little bit faster and as you can see, it has slightly storage capacity.
