I only have two HDD slots in my case, so it works well to have an M.2 as a boot drive and keep all my files on HDD/SSDs in cages.

on ITX boards a lot of the M.2 slots are on the back, so you have minimal clutter and more room for storage.

I just took some budget dual rank Micron ECC up to 3200Mhz from 2133 stock and it working nicely with my Ryzen R5, cost was CHEAPER than speedwise comparable consumer sticks which don't even have an extra parity chip (1024mb) on each side.

Dell has pretty shit options for nvme drives. Apart from the 960 pro/evo, there are Dell branded and WD Black drives but those are only 512 gb. The gc expires in 2 months so maybe their options will grow by then.
