I want awareness of heart disease to be added to the sticky. Awareness that makes every /fit/ user keep in mind how serious it is from then on after reading it because it's not something most people ever think about. It is important that /fit/ understands why it is so critically important why they should be eating healthy at all times and be educated on how easy it is to transfer over to a healthy diet they can stick to so they can avoid heart disease.

Heart disease is the NUMBER ONE cause of death in the United States. In one year it was responsible for 1/4 of all deaths that year. Almost 790,000 people died because of it in 2015. OVER SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE DIED. I emphasize this so you can let this sink in more.

Do you want to know why it kills so many people? Because the plaque in your arteries that is building up from eating greasy junkfood is INCURABLE. There is no significant medical intervention that can deal with it. Exercise and diet only makes it a little better even if you're doing everything else optimally. The only remote defense you even have against it is promoting the growth of new blood vessels in your body. Which doesn't matter if you keep eating like shit to clog those up too.

Do you understand what it means to downgrade your circulatory system like this? Every organ in your body is getting a downgrade in health because the blood supply to it is getting worse. That includes your brain.

The only chance you have of not dying from heart disease related complications is if you stop eating greasy junkfood NOW and stay off of it the rest of your life. I used to eat junkfood more than anybody I ever knew. Now I do not give a shit about not eating it anymore. And not because of this although it played a part. So if I can get off of junkfood you can too. Don't make excuses like "I need a cheat day" You don't need a cheat day. What you need is an upgrade in your strategy for getting off of heart disease causing food until the strat works.

Fuck all the barbell routines which say to squat and deadlift. I aint looking to win a power lifting tournament, I just wanna be a bit stronger and a bit bigger. Yeah sure deadlifts and squats are safe... IF YOU HAVE A PERSONAL FUCKING TRAINER AND SOMEONE TO WATCH EVERY REP. I deadlifted 70kg for the first time in my life last week and thought to myself "If i did this wrong, im not gonna feel it now... im going to feel it in a few years time before its too late". I think I have an energy drink addiction.

Recently I started drinking when I'm not working out, the taste and energy feel amazing, but it's gotten really bad. There are times when I need to sleep, but I crave an energy drink and can't go to bed. Please help.
