Glance in your direction and continue with my workout. Had some instagram fitness chick come into my gym once, pretended to do exercises while her photographer did his job. Was kinda stupid looking honestly. She loaded up a 1pl8 DL and just held the bar long enough for me to do about 3 different exercises.

>go for quick squats and shrugs session to gym
>not much time left
>do squats, load up bar for rack pull
>put as much as i can, totals about 210kg (thanks bumper plates you fucks, who the fuck thought its good idea to use only bumper plates in gym)
>do some rack pulls
>drop some weight off it directly on ground and do shrugs to failure
>continue with dropset till 1 pl8 is left
>i left huge fuckin mess and 2 girls are beginning to clean the gym
>rerack all the weights nicely, took me few minutes desu
>the 2 cuties come close and thank me for cleaning this shit up, since "not many people do that"

Okay, what the fuck.

Stronglifts says bar should be over mid-foot during setup. This places the arms at a slight backwards incline.

Alan Thrall says bar should line up with toes during setup (found here: https://youtu.be/G8l_8chR5BE?t=50)

Which one is correct, and why?

Neither one is correct because everybody's different and what works for some might not work for all. If it helps, I prefer Alan Thrall's method, but just do whatever works for you.

I think I prefer bar over mid-foot during setup, as I feel more stable, plus I have really tight hamstrings that I'm working on and they're not nearly so tight when the bar is mid-foot. Should help keep my lower back from rounding, like it currently can during the bottom of my squats (butt-wink, again due to tight hamstrings), right?

imo the way you get big/aesthetics quickly is multiple sets sticking around 8 reps occasionally going up to 12 or 15. do your compounds and get strong but this is the way you do it

low volume squats give you strong legs like high volume leg exercises give you big legs
