Hi /fit/. Lardass here. I want to join a gym. No. I'm going to join a gym. But I'm already stuck at what sneakers to purchase. I only have flat sneakers and never really had running/jogging shoes aside from some really cheap ones I bought at walmart a few years back. About $70usd is my limit.
Also I had general gym questions to ask:
I'll be going before/after classes so should I just take my gym clothes and what I plan on wearing to class and change back into my 'normal' outfit after or is it more advisable to wear not change in and out and back in to street clothes?
Should i take bodywash with me or is just washing with water enough? I went to a public school with no showers so we didn't do anything for gym except put on deodorant as far as hygiene is concerned.
What exactly should I be taking with me?
Anything else you think might be useful.

>shoes
Doesn't matter what shoes you wear when you lift, flat are reccomended most of the time but really doesn't matter. Definitely going to want some running shoes if you plan on running though.
>changing clothes
Personally I wouldn't give a shit about changing and just where whatever I had on, but I go a bit earlier before my class so I can comeback to my place and shower first and then change, but if you're comfortable showering at the gym and changing go ahead.
>body wash
Definitely take body wash, it'll help with the sweat smell.
>what should I take
If you plan on showering at the gym probably take your gym clothes and a pair to change in and out of, prob some soap to so you don't smell like shit.
See ya in the gym

git new balances ma nigga. ive been wearing te same pair for 3 years now and they're still good enough to keep. need to fix the outer sole tho because it's starting to come off but some glue will fix that. i use them for running everday. i'm not trying to save money but i know of myself once i start buying new shoes regulary nothing will ever be good enough and i will start using my shoes as an excuse for why my performance is below standards on certain days
>>40206264
Okay my man.
>>40206184
thanks. it's a 40ish minute public commute one way so i can't really go back home to wash. dont want to smell liek a sweaty reck in class or on train.
is this achievable natty? How?

What does /fit/ think of this routine
>>40205990
> 3x a week BP and OHP but only 2x a week squats
> 4x4 is too high volume for deadlift, let alone 4x8.
> 3-day full body split
> Has Squats, DL, Bench Press, Press, Rows
> Low reps, high intensity
> Linear Progress
Looks good to me.
>>40205990
Quick question. Do workouts like these actually help for more than just strength? Cos it looks like it'd only be good for strength.
If HAES is a meme then why are sumo wrestlers /fit/?
>>40205779
Sumo wrestlers are basically asian version of southern powerlifters.
Except sumo guys will actually wreck you irl fights
if sumo wrestlers are so healthy, why do they drop dead about 15 years sooner than average Japanese male?

Anyone here use jumpropes for cardio? Found my grandads old pair from when he did boxing and it seems like decent cardio, how'd you start? How does it match up to running? How important is a good rope?
>>40205646
>How does it match up to running? How important is a good rope?
Both work the same muscle mainly. I prefer rope because it's much more fun. A lot of sweet moves you can do once you master the basics (kinda like skating).
I think a good rope is pretty important but for the first months it shouldn't matter all that much.

They both heavily isolate the calves
Gastrocnemius for the most part
How many sets+reps does /fit/ do for diddlies? And what frequency/week?
>>40205560
Right now, twice a week. Triples at varying intensities one day and sets of 6 paused deadlifts the other.
>>40205560
Are those those big ass lawn rollers filled with water he's lifting?
>>40205560
10 maybe 11.
>everyone around me is going to parties and getting laid
>watch videos of people I went to school with drinking and getting fingered at parties
>not happy with myself enough to put myself out there
>tfw spent the last 3 years just lifting
we're all gonna make it
Facebook is not real life. Normies use it as a way to showcase how cool they are, but its not really them, its like an alter ego, a persona they feed with everyting they post. Its kinda sad desu.
>girl flirts with you
>hate it
Everytime.
>>40205439
>tfw have a gf impressed with my body
>still feel fat and that I need to be 10-12%
So /fit/. Can I still get aesthetic if I choose to exclusively use DBs over BBs? Not using machines either.
>>40205409
Yes.
Do you have an bench?
in theory, yes, but in practice it's just not going to happen.
Yes, and you can lose weight by eating nothing but sugar.
Both are possible but a retarded, make things harder and are a pointless limitation.
What mode is this?
bearmode
My current mode after nearly 2 years of lifting

This is what girls want. When will you guys finally get it?

Who asked you
if I would want to attract girls id stopeatingxF and become an artsy fuckboi
You're the kind of retard that stops when he gets a gf, not lifting because you want to feel stronger and better but becu much fuckhole

Got a steroid shot in my ass for a virus that's been going around, will I be safe to hit legs tonight?
Bump, probably should have googled it since believing y'all hit legs is a long-shot.
>>40204645
Wow that picture really made me think
that man is insanely attractive. no homo
A man puts himself under a bar of significant weight and with a good deal of exertion moves the bar for one repetition.
>The spectators remark: "That weight is a challenge to him."
Another man puts himself under a bar of moderate weight and moves it tenfold with little difficulty.
>The spectators remark: "That weight is a triviality to him."
>lifting for spectators

How come I've never seen this Henry Rollins story here?
Hearing that, after years lifting and slacking because I already had the body I wanted, was like realizing why I got to the gym. Because e of all the discipline, self control and endurance I needed in life, that now I need again.
Folks, I'm about to the greatest human being a can be.
Makenzie you watch his convo with Joe Rogan BTW.
