What does /fit/ think of this routine
>>40205990
> 3x a week BP and OHP but only 2x a week squats
> 4x4 is too high volume for deadlift, let alone 4x8.
> 3-day full body split
> Has Squats, DL, Bench Press, Press, Rows
> Low reps, high intensity
> Linear Progress
Looks good to me.

Quick question. Do workouts like these actually help for more than just strength? Cos it looks like it'd only be good for strength.
I'm currently following this. It's a good beginner program. Just pick SS, SL or this one and stick to it, doesn't really matter if you're new.
One thing I really like though is OHPing 3x a week, I struggled with adding weight to OHP until I started doing that. I always do Deadlifts 3x4 or 4x4 though, more is just excessive.

Program says you can squat on DL days though. And I don't think 4x4 is too high.

Would it be alright to add Facepulls/Lat raises and Curls at the end of each training session?
from reddit?

Squat/Deadlift and OHP every day, at heavy weight, seems like a lot of stress on your lower back. Probably won't be a problem if you're under 30.

That distinction doesn't matter for a beginner. Big people are strong and strong people are big.

I don't see why not. Some people might argue that it's a waste of time but if you like working your arms and shoulders go for it.

To be honest, you'd be better off without it IMO. Assuming you are a beginner. But if you really insist, do like 2 sets of 10-12 reps.

Good then, thanks.

I've been doing without curls, but at over 202cm wingspan, I guess damned to have noodle arms if do not focus on them.

I'm 6'3 and have a yuge span as well, but heavy presses and pulls do really help. You can't bench heavy with a weak triceps, same goes for deadlift/chin-ups and biceps. My arms are improving decently without isolation exercises. I'm mobing onto a PPL program after I stall on this one, though, and then I'll add isolation exercises.
If you want to add something, I'd actually recommend doing 5 sets instead of 4 for every exercise.
But in the end, do what you wanna do man, lifting should be fun as well

Thanks for the input. You've been doing OPs pic program?
Certainly I'll adopt the 5 sets scheme instead of 4 sets.
>>40206939
Yeah, I've been doing it for a month now. So far so good. 1 month progress (one rep max, KG):
Deadlift 120 -> 160
Squat 100 -> 116
Bench 71 -> 84
OHP 46 -> 57
I haven't ben strict at all with diet though.
>>40207047
Oh, we got pretty similar base stats. I've been doing your early numbers for reps.
Why was this routine made by a pokemon?
>>40207243
Nice. I've done some liftan before but never consistent, went from fatty to skelly mainly through diet. Now that I lift I struggle to get enough calories lol
Either way good luck with the program man

Nope
