How important are the last few inches of pullups and chins, more specifically on the eccentric portion, if I stop just before full lockout/dead hang i can do 6+ but if I don't I can only do 1. I have a similar problem with the concentric portion of rows.

Also ROM general I guess.

i might get crucified for saying this, but i don't think that an extra inch or two of ROM is the most important thing in the world. if you have to choose between doing 1 full dead hang pull up and 6+ stopping just before dead hang, the 6+ will make you stronger, period. once you've built up a decent strength base, the full ROM movement will be much easier.

Dead hang is necessary for a full pull up, keep training to get there. Right now you can do 1 pullup, not 6. There's a reason it's way harder to do a full dead hang, it's because in that point in the ROM all the pulling power is in the latz

I do dead hang, but isn't there usually some anon claiming locked out joints is bad for them? I worry I'm shortening my joint life by being overly egotistical with going complete dead hang to chin over the bar every rep.

While I do dead, I tend to agree with this guy, I don't think the last 2 inches is going to impact your progress much. Maybe it isn't perfect from some form nazi strict point of view, but in all seriousness if you are retracting shoulder blades, using your lats then probably for all intents and purposes the same shit

Okay so I don't really get rest days. They actually feel really weird. Like what am I supposed to do? It doesn't feel right to just sit there and eat my oats but not have any squats to do. What do on rest days?

I finally saw a PT after dealing with an injury (in my left arm) for months and other methods of recovery not working.

They told me that while I'm seeing them I shouldn't do any exercises that involve my upper body; so that pretty much leaves me with cardio and squats.

I was on SS, but now that I have to put that on hold, what does do you /fit/bros recommend I do?

If you're honestly injured to the point you can't work out (which I assume you are if you seeked out a PT), then follow their fucking directions and do your physio!

Either that, or search for another PT who understands your goals better.

Not reaching parallel
Bar on traps (is this too much of an issue? I find it hard to put it on my shoulders)
My elbows flare out they don't remain straight and pointed to the ground almost on a diagonal
My lower back is rounding at the bottom
I lean too far forward almost like I'm doing a good morning
So far I've had knee pain and lower back pain I reach up to a 185 lbs squat (once up to 235 lbs) injure myself and then reset to lower weight to try and get form right rinse and repeat

Things I try
Hold breath to bottom then exhale at top
Push gut in and try to push it out
Squeeze lats together
Hold chest in
Stick my ass out further
Shoulder width stance
Point my toes out a bit

I work on my form with a broom stick and empty bar but it's the same thing I can see myself on camera do the exercise wrong and even no weight squats giving me back pain now.

Note: I had bad posture for much of my life and I walk on the sides of my feet almost since I could walk. And I'm clumsy and slow learning how to do physical things. I was always more of a book worm.

What's the best way to reset a faulty sleeping pattern? Does staying up all night help solve it?

I've been working from home a lot recently and that's just somehow enabled me to stay up til 6am and wake up at 2pm. Not great.

It's comfy going to my 24 hour gym at 3am and coming back to watch a movie before I sleep, but I do think it could be affecting my health not seeing as much sunlight.

Any tips?

Why is everyone at the gym that is huge and can lift the most weight 'curlbro' normies, they do machines, dumbbell presses, dumbell rows, dumbell split squats etc and they are fucking big.

anyone that is doing a barbell exercise is either some extremely fat fuck squatting 0.2x his bodyweight or some skinny kid getting his bones crushed with the bare barbell just resting on him.

No, i know some of these people personally and they claim theyve been training for upwards of 5 years and been doing splits the entire time, they just rotate the exercises.
