I took more than 1 day off and nearly killed myself.

I took an entire year off and did bodyweight stuff for career/schedule reasons.

I don't really care. I'm losing my motivation to keep lifting. My life sucks to the point that being buff wouldn't really help it. I worked out today and did fullbody but I barely even ate protein, I ate like 1500 calories and just sipped coffee all day. Whatever.

i had to lose about 50 lbs of fat, but because i knew what i was doing it wasn't that hard and didn't take too long.

I fucked my lower back all up doing deadlifts without a belt. How do I best heal it now? I don't want to have to take a shitton of time off from the gym.

I also fucked up my shoulder doing bench press (just my fucking luck). It kind of grinds when I hold it up in front of me, and pops at times too. Very painful in certain positions.

The deadlift was after lowering it 20kg to adjust my form.

The bench was a natural 5 pound progression from my previous 3x5. The bar had no grip, and my hands were slipping outward as I did my lifts, which put pressure on my shoulder.

It's not about getting to work. It's about taking the time to eat a leisurely meal, drink some coffee, read the news and exercise before work or school or whatever. Makes the rest of the day stress free and easy as fuck. I can't believe how harried and unfocused everyone around me is, and they all wake up 10 minutes before they're due to be somewhere and carry that disorder with them through the rest of their day .. and life.

Okay /fit/ so I have these two friends who are really into lifting, one of them is newer he's about 155 lbs lean the other is big, he's 5 10 190 with abs but takes test boosters. Basically, he is trying to convince my smaller friend to do this insane workout with a shit ton of volume

I'm trying to tell them it's a bad idea especially cause they are both natty minus one of them taking test boosters (legal ones)

I've seen these characters before. Unless you outlift them currently, don't bother - they won't listen to you.
the big guy will probably get a little bigger and stronger and the small guy will get fat and a little stronger.
yeah it's probably a big waste of time program for both of them, but you're not responsible for their decisions or their gains.
your goal should be to get stronger. when they burn themselves out and make limited gains and you make their lifts look like hot garbage, then feel free to tell them the reality of their shitty program and how they should be training.

Yeah, bench press is difficult in the beginning, but if you hang in there, you'll see your numbers increase in no time. Just do it a few times a week, preferably not one day after the other, but with a day of rest in between each session. You might experience some doms in the beginning, but trust me, just work through the pain. In a month or two's time, you'll have seen an increase in your strength. You're going to make it! Just hang in there, man.

honestly, around 1.5/2.5/3.5 for bench, squat, deadlift.

2/3/4 is about average for 9 months I believe.

Ive been going to the gym 5 times a week for a month and a half now. I'm focused on my loosing upper body fat

I started lifting after I was done with sports, so I kinda had a head start because I burned a lot of a fat already from the ammount of cardio.

How did I do?

You are not going to see results for at least a year, you are still currently the same stick as before keep going.
