always get them with a publix sub
Why are they ruining every good dessert with salt these days?
More and more people are figuring out that salt enhances the flavors of sweet ingredients.
I'm all for it. I grew up sprinkling salt on my watermelon slices.

tastes good
put the tiniest bit of cayenne in it too
makes it taste even better

I understand a little bit of salty and sweet but we don't need big chunks of sea salt on top like in the pic
Me and my dad are trying to make Thai Tea, but so far it tastes absolutely nothing like the drink as I know it. The recipe we used called for steeping star anise, cardamom pods, vanilla beans (we just used vanilla extract because c'mon), cinnamon, and mixing that with actual black tea and sugar.
So far it just tastes like thai tea. It tastes ok I guess but it's more like normal tea with some Torani syrup in it or something, not at all what we were looking for.
Anyone on /ck/ ever made it, or at least could point me in the right direction?
You can't use normal sugar, you need palm sugar for that. I think you can find them in asian markets.
Use Thai tea mix. It's what the restaurants do.
Americans voted on what they believe to be the top 5 most childish foods, and here are the results.
1. Chicken tenders
2. Curly fries
3. Baby food
4. Kraft Dinner
5. Nando's XXtra Hot Sauce
What do you think of these results, /ck/? Do you agree with what Americans believe to be childish?
>>8228642
i'm america, the fuck is nandos?
>>8228645
They make chicken with a spicy sauce that Americans hate because they think it tastes childish. They think Nando's needs to be more cheese focused.
>curly fries
Fucking degenerates, those are amazing
Why is the McDonald's cheeseburger more enjoyable than the quarter pounder when it's basically the same burger but smaller?
Some black guy fucked a mcchicken

Looks greasy as fuck - would still try.
I've tried this here in the UK. Pretty shit.
I start the first desk job of my life on Monday.
And it's in the middle of nowhere. So I basically have to pack my lunch, another first.
So what do you pack? I need some good ideas for something that actually tastes good.

Q1: does your office have a full kitchen in your designated break area?
If your answer to Q1 is YES, please stop the examination. If your answer to Q1 is I DONT KNOW, I HAVENT ACTUALLY SEEN THE PLACE YET, please report back to thread after your first day.
Good luck!

Grapes, dried apricots, carrot sticks, celery sticks. Just kind of graze all day. Don't have a big meal because you'll get tired and crabby.
Dear /ck/
how would one go about making the best espresso? What's the process?
I'd like to know what the connoisseurs of the brew know.
>>8228099
unless you're a richfag, you can't do it
the equipment is cost prohibitive
>>8228099
just go stove top senpai
Invest in a really good grinder and an espresso machine.
You can kinda make one with a moka pot, and can make espresso in the "concentrated coffee with some foam" sense with a french press, but to do it properly you need the proper equipment (which isn't cheap for anything that'll give you a good result).
What keeps you motivated to cook when it is so easy to instantly get cheap food that doesn't taste terrible and keeps you going?
>>8228001
It's cheaper to cook than any of the stuff you mentioned. And it's often faster than to drive out, get fast food, come back.
Plus, I enjoy it. It's a fun hobby. Fucking around the kitchen is a great way to get away from the stress of work, school, whatever.
Cooking with quality ingredients done right is both less expensive and better tasting.
What keeps me motivated is remembering the terrible malaise that takes over when I don't cook good food for a week.
Because cooking is fun
I have a specific question but it didn't warrant an entire thread, so here's a general. Ask any question related to home-brewing beer, cider, wine, mead, etc, and hopefully some more experienced anons will be able to provide the answers.
>>8227963
I make wine, cannot help with any other drink. Whats your question?
>>8227963
So what's your specific question then, fgt?
I'm looking to start homebrewing beer, mainly because my life is boring and I need a new hobby. I don't know very much about the process and I'm not even a huge beer drinker, but I thought it might be fun. I'm not looking to take it too seriously or spend huge amounts of money, I'd just like to be able to have the ability to brew different types of beer (probably pale ales at first and then darker beers if I get more confident) which I can add some interesting flavours to (eg citrus, vanilla, coffee) once I've got the hang of the basic recipes.
Based on that information and assuming I'm starting off with nothing, what pieces of equipment are absolutely necessary? Would a very basic homebrew kit (including a fermentation bucket with airlock, siphon and thermometer) suffice? Are there any other pieces of equipment that aren't 100% necessary, but would be useful?
I work at a pub, so I can just clean out and use glass bottles from there, so that won't be a problem.
Best way to make these actually taste okay? I have too many boxes of these in my cupboard
>>8227923
add water
>>8227923
Add chilli, but really this is low tier "soup" and there is not much you can do.

You can't fix it, british cuisine is beyond salvage. It's literally like asking how to make feces taste good.
ITT: We post comfy meals that we're currently eating.
I'll start. I'm no good cook, but I do enjoy some eggs, bacon and tomato soup sure do taste good. I messed up on the eggs. What about you guys?
it's cold autumn day...
No photo, but I did just have some bomb-ass devilled kidneys on toast.
Prefer liver though, honestly. Kidneys seem to taste like liver and piss, so I might as well just have the one without the added urine side.
