what do y'all think about real estate investment.
basically buy a property, tenants pay rent, mortgage and expenses are covered, equity is built, and you keep the leftovers.
If done right, your getting $$$$$ all day
Holy Shit! That's smart.
>>1448985
It's a good idea... in paper, wouldn't call it smart through.
PayPal is outdated software. It's old and it's losing popularity. I think there is tremendous opportunity to create something similar but better. Lets discuss business gentlemen.
>>1448919
It's been done, it's called Venmo and people are already using it.
>>1448919
I can see its brand recognition being good, but what kind of market penetration does PayPal actually have. I don't see more than 30-40% of people being remotely ready for mobile or online payment. I think we're still in the spreading phase, not yet in a revolution phase.
Mobile payment is probably on the rise. In a couple of years most people probably won't even have landline internet or PCs. Personally, so far none of the electronic wallets, payment processors, etc have really convinced me.
They're sort of inbeween. They have to hold funds and process transactions, so almost everywhere they need a bank liscense, which probably hampers innovation and increases overhead (but also provides a base level of security). But they don't reward any interest. They take your money, exchange it into virtual tokens and let you pay with them. This effectively discourages holding large amounts of money in them which in turn discourages paying a lot of things with them (or you just use them as a front for a classic credit card or bank debit transaction which is rather useless). Maybe that's a front where you can innovate, but again - it would move the service closer to an actual bank which is not really the desired effect...
>>1448937
Seems dodgy, tiny, I don't see a unique appeal and finally, they've been bought by PayPal anyway...
>>1448937
Stop posting with your fucking tripcode and your shitty "muh psycho xDD" name you fucking nigger
>Buy a stock
>It goes down
>Sell a stock
>It goes up
And it's sweet, sweet, sweet victory.
And the one whose last to fall,
The winner takes all.
I bought facebook stocks they were supposed to go up
BUT THEY KEEP GOING DOWN
That's actually a good pattern OP.
Just do the opposite of what your gut tells you and you're golden.

Why has /biz/ never come together with all of its trading, entrepreneurial, niche knowledge base expertise, and used this enthusiasm to start a business run initially entirely by /biz/??? Everyone's here for the same reason so why is it that we couldn't build a hell of a business together?
>inb4 /biz/ would argue too much
It's why there's a corporate ladder every company bickers
Biz (TM) could umbrella so many of /biz/'s entrepreneurial ideas
maybe I'm just being too idealistic but there's a wealth of knowledge on 4chan that most just shrug off that could be utilized.
because we love shilling coins and memestocks at one another
>>1448770
there might well be but there is also a wealth of NEETs, why would people with knowledge want to collaborate with NEETS?
It isn't like everyone has the same interests motivations either... so why there might be capable people they don't all want the same thing nor have any need to collaborate with complete strangers - most probably have their own networks to utilize or have better means of meeting potential co-founders than through an anonymous image-board

Have been searching for a worthy Confluence alternative for a half a week already
What I need is a free (to host on my server or in the cloud) private wiki or a wiki-like intranet with (and this is very important) a sitemap in the sidebar (just like confluence)
like pic related, but with pages and folders (called namespaces sometimes)

How do I approach investors?
What stops them from listening to my pitch and running off with the idea?
>>1448629
The business will be past idea stage when I approach investors ofc, but I mean whats stopping them from taking my business model and expanding the way I want to before me?
Investors are not entrepreneurs, they don't build anything themselves. They just shit money and expect ROI.

Investors are lazy
That's why they invest

So, I recently got a job that offers a 401k with Principal and I am very interested in investing in it, but their site won't let me look at their portfolio options.
What is the best option for a 29yo male who has never had a 40k before?
Feel free to ask questions, but I will only be online for an hour or so.
These are the ones available to my company from Principal. They all suck with unreasonably high ERs (up to 0.9+). The S&P500 large Cap had the lowest at 0.18 so I dumped everything in that.
>>1448748
How long have you had that set up and what are your returns so far?
>>1448797
Only recently started working there.
Would it be wise to take a job offer which will send you to china for a few years?
>>1448580
nigga you posted 11minutes ago

>>1448508
Well fitting navy suit should be enough.
>also do i put gel or wax in my hair
Depends on your hair type, but pomade would be the best option. Wax if you have to choose between these two.

Hi guys. I recently turned 18 and I'm about to start uni pretty soon for civil engineering. I have $380 saved up and I want to start investing. Would you say that that amount of money is sufficient for ETFs or should I explore some other avenues which will yield more bang for my buck? Thanks in advance.
>Would you say that that amount of money is sufficient for ETFs
For a single buy trade it would be:
minimum brokerage transaction fee in $/brokerage transaction fee in %
So if a brokerage has a 0,1% fee on transaction but minimum 0.50$ it makes sense to buy at least 500$ worth of shares.
>>1448503
I can only use drivewealth since I live outside the U.S. They charge $3 in commission. What would you say is the most suitable price range for me to buy shares in? I'm new to all this and I'm currently quite ignorant so forgive my dumb questions.
Why do you even come here jesus christ.
I know that short quotes are often way too glib and feel like inspiration spiel. But who cares, sometimes they are motivating and useful, so /Biz/illionaires, what are your favorite business quotes/mantras/maxims/axioms?

Here is my business idea
I'll buy a decent 35mm film scanner for about $300 AU
I will then charge people a reasonable amount to digitize their family photo collection
I have about 200ish at home, so I am guessing alot of other people will have a similar collection.
For price I will probably work out how many I can do in an hour and charge $15-20/hr.
I will shill my home business online, facebook gumtree etc.
What do you guys think?
whats the point of this service if the average guy can just buy a scanner and scan it himself
this service might be good for old people, who cannot into technology
