Alright lads,

I decided to test a portion of my portfolio out on some marijuana stocks. As we all know, Canadian Marijuana laws are coming into effect in about a week, and when that happens, green stocks are going to have a field day. I've already had some mild success with THC, SL, and GCI, and I'm curious to see which leafy green companies /biz/ is invested in.

I also figured I'd let /biz/ know in case anyone here was interested in making some quick money (in a responsible and non-meme way). I picked these smaller marijuana companies as opposed to OGI, APH, MT, and CGC because the return will ultimately be larger in an event that guarantees all marijuana stocks benefit. In addition, each of these companies has lab constructions or license approval coming up within the next couple of months. This will drastically increase value for shareholders. Below, I've posted my profits from today.

is it really next week? I've been thinking of opening a direct investing account at my bank to invest in pot but I've been putting it off for a while.

I haven't really read too much about it either, but I know CGC is the industry leader and is pretty much guaranteed to take off
>>
>>1447962
Yeah, there was talk that it was postponed to November because the libs wanted more time to plan things out, but the latest news says an announcement's still on for the 24th.

CGC is definitely the industry leader and will take off. There's no question about it. If you bought it early enough, you're in an excellent position. People hopping onto it now may only double or triple their money in the next year, not quadruple or quintuple.

If you want a safe MJ company though, any of MT, OGI, APH, and CGC are good bets. I particularly like Aphria (APH).

Since about a year ago I have been interested in building some kind of business but can't find the motivation to start.
>will do it tomorrow
The ideas I have are all online businesses that I know I can build. (with necessary research)

I keep telling myself bullshit like:
>Low chance it will ever make any money.
>Really hard to make and don't know where to start.

So, is this problem common and what do people do to overcome this?

Motivation comes and goes, what you really need is discipline, or in some cases, desperation.

Developed a foundation for yourself, actually make it a business.

'Punch in' at a certain time and work until punch out time... you're not allowed to waste your time on social media/4chan ect, until the work day is done.

Some people are not cut out for self-employment though, or being their own boss-- they need structure and guidance given to them from higher ups.

Best of luck, remember at the end of the day it's just a matter of doing it. Once you start you're less likely to stop.

How to guarantee that my AdSense monetized blog/site/youtube channel will not get banned?

Example, a guy here said that he got permabanned for an article or video called "10 reasons to hate Hugo Chavez". Reason: "hate group". And that's it. All of your work gone forever. Imagine that you rank a lot of videos and get a successful site and you get guaranteed NEETbux for life from the passive income and you are on your road to get rich, and suddendly one fucking article has the wrong word or a video has the wrong thumbnail or tittle or keyword... and bang, you are FUCKED.

This is why im so fucking paranoid. Yet there are no alternatives. AdSense is the only way to make good ad revenue. The rest are memes.

pander to feminist and 'happy' topics until you start raking in major income from AdSense, then pull a bait and switch

If you are pulling in enough views before the bait and switch, they won't revoke your ability to adsense. They only go after the small fucks to make an example of them, but they're too greedy to do anything about the big dogs.
>>
>>1446361
What do you call big?

I remember one of my favorite channels of "pranks" and stuff like that, that had over 300k suscribers, called Garry n Brad, got banned for keyword abuse or something like that. So it shows big channels can go down too.

Then there's this shit:

http://kotaku.com/5964312/youtuber-i-was-banned-from-making-money-because-of-an-over-zealous-fan

What stops somebody that hates you from clicking on your ads repeatedly to fuck you up? Or somebody low IQ enough to think its a good thing. This is fucked up man wtf. Anyone can seriously ruin you if he decides to spam click no your ads? ffs.
>>
>>1446411
Probably a minimum of 1,000,000 unique viewers, in which a maximum of 10% of the audience is using adblock

These are completely arbitrary numbers, but somewhat based on anecdotal analysis of the ad revenue marketplace

Hey /biz/ how do you look for new clients?

I am new hire at my father's business as an assistant to the salesman we have. And we sell various heating systems. That's so obscure and only few people need our stuff, since most people just install gas based heating if we don't catch them before they do.

Now I am sitting here googling random keywords hoping to find some big construction project or clients and am having no luck. Please tell me /biz/ what are some ways to find clients?

Maybe I'm not understanding op as I have never worked sales that weren't them coming to me... but aren't there sites like Angie's list or the most obvious method... learning from your sales lead.. isn't that why you're an apprentice?.. you know. To learn from him.
>>
>>1450367
I'd probably buy ads in the local newspapers and radio. Maybe on facebook targeting people in your area.

you about have to catch people before they even break ground on a new project since they usually have their HVAC contractor hired months ahead of construction.

if you're really good with people you could try to plug your products with local contractors, architects and engineers. I suspect most of them are going to still choose proven systems in common use though. I mean if your heating systems were actually superior you wouldn't be looking for clients- they'd be looking for you.
>>
>>1450379
Well our salesman has worked for about half a year and he found only 1 client. All other clients we had because of my father's connections. So when I asked the salesman about it he wasn't too sure himself other than finding clients in exhibitions

You consented to work for them, under their rules, and get paid according to their determination. Yes, the transaction is slanted against you, but technically you are voluntarily consenting to participate in a transaction that is against your interests. I suggest you think more deeply about the ways in which you can work for yourself and make the amount of money you feel you deserve.

I'm an artist and use old, rusted, and worn out items for my artwork. Though some items you can just find, others are more uncommon. I need nails that are naturally rusted and in just the right shape, and so having access to a ton of old nails is a must (not just finding nails from time to time). Also, worn out power equipment is on my list.

I found a local construction company that's willing to do business with me, allowing me to haul away their old buckets of nails as they fill them and allowing me to pick up their tools as they're destroyed or need replacing. They'll keep items until 4 pm every day and then throw them if I haven't picked them up yet. They want me to sign a contract guaranteeing their pay and plan on negotiating with me tomorrow AM. I have no idea how much to offer but my art is important to me and I'm willing to pay more than they probably think the stuff is worth.

Am I making a fool of myself offering to pay them for their trash? Or is it reasonable that I pay since they have to hold onto it until I pick it up? How do I keep myself from getting screwed?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Also, if you were the owner of the business that's negotiating with me tomorrow and somehow knew that I didn't know what I was doing, how would you treat the situation? Would you try to get me to pay as much as possible or would you say, "eh, it's trash, just pay a small fee and we'll call it good."
>>
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
>>
>>1450111
Immediately get on the phone tomorrow, call some contractors, and figure out if they'd let you haul their trash tools/nails for free and/or how much they'd charge (I'd offer to "haul" it for free, don't ask them how much you could buy it for). You need to get a feeling for how valuable that scrap metal really is to you - if the company you're negotiating with is the only source reasonably available to you, then they have a lot more leverage than if you could "shop" elsewhere.

Scrap metal has value, but that value is probably counterbalanced by the cost of the construction company hauling it to the scrapyard and the cost of them bothering to collect it in the first place. Their desire for a contract COULD be to just formalize terms and ensure you couldn't fuck them on payment, or it could be an attempt to profit off of some junk they'd otherwise have to deal with. Hard to tell. If I were on their side, I'd probably try to see if I couldn't get you to pay me more than the cost of the scrap less transportation costs, but that's because I'm an asshole.

Your best strategy: learn what your alternatives are, and then have them make an offer price-wise. If I were you, I'd offer them a price pegged to the local scrap cost of the materials - that way, they win (they don't have to transport it but get the scrap value, saving money) and you win (you pay probably less than you would at a scrapyard). Of course, if you go with that strategy, I wouldn't budge on price, mainly because I'd be coming in with inherently fair win/win terms.
