Have been searching for a worthy Confluence alternative for a half a week already
What I need is a free (to host on my server or in the cloud) private wiki or a wiki-like intranet with (and this is very important) a sitemap in the sidebar (just like confluence)
like pic related, but with pages and folders (called namespaces sometimes)

Why don't you just use a Google drive spreadsheet and share it amongst your team?

Set it up looking real nice with color codes and urgency symbols. Lock all the formatting and keep track of your tasks tbere.

Jira and Confluence are pretty limited for what they are in my opinion.

most of our team had some experience with Confluence and it's the best in our opinion
