Maybe think about getting some stock with nice dividends. Split up your $10k into 5 chucks of $2k, find five stocks that have nice dividends that pay 5%~ and that's $500~ a year if the stock stays at the same price and doesn't go up or down. Reinvest that $500 and make more. Compound that 5% a year and the possibility of the stocks going up you'll be making money. Maybe buy things and resell them for profit on eBay as well, I've purchased "(Game here)collector's edition" and then sell them on eBay/Craig's List after they all sell out for profit. Just don't get stuck with items.

id suggest continue saving and not buying anything until you have a real grasp of this shit, which will take months if not year(s)

saving is not a bad option, plebs think that because interest rates are low they must invest, but if youre a dumb investor because you literally lack the information necessary to invest effectively then saving is a lot more effective than gambling and calling it investing because its a stock or a bond and not a horse or greyhound

I'm employed plus a student diagnosed with type 1. What gets me through is meds, alcohol and a goal. Mine being finishing school, getting my cpa, and never have to wash dishes again. The swings will happen either way and most days I sob for ~5 minutes in the dishpit but it will pass and I try to remember my goal. Dishwasher is a good job for us. I hardly talk to anyone and spend my time listening to audiobooks and podcasts. But then again people will treat you like bottom of the barrel shit.
