This has to do with business in selling art or personal art. I'm a high schooler in advanced art and my real teacher is on maternity leave. Our teacher until October used to be a lawyer and she's yelling us all sorts of cap we do in my art class is illegal and has basically ruined my joy in that class. will someone familiar in the legality of artworks in law or someone interested in what should be right tell me some stuff and answer some questions. For example Edgar Allan Poe teletubby. Is that an illegal work that infringes upon teletubbies copyrights even if you're not selling it such as volunteer work or just for yourself personally.

If it's not being distributed in some way then it doesn't even matter whether it's legal. No one would sue even if they knew about it.
If you can make a good argument for it being a parody then it's legal. This is how Friedberg and Seltzer get away with cribbing major releases in their terrible movies.
If it's non-profit, doesn't hurt the copyright owner's business in ANY WAY, and isn't a direct reproduction of a copyrighted work (i.e. fan art rather than a screen cap), it's almost certainly fair use.
On a side note, if it isn't fair use then it's automatically owned by the owner of the copyrighted work. Isn't that kind of fucked up? This has been proven in court, for example someone wrote a script for a Rocky movie and tried to sell it to the studio, and then sued when a very similar script was used. The court ruled that he did not own the script because it was inseparable from the Rocky IP, which he had used without permission.

I'm have a very small company which includes my girlfriend and I. We work in web wdesign, IT related business stuff. Currently I think the only thing preventing me from earning more is my own laziness.
Recently I've been approached by investors who have offer to outright buy the company or invest into it.
I am considering creating an Ltd and selling shares to these people.
What I don't know is what benefit having a cash injection into my business will be as it is very little overhead and I'm not sure what that can bring to my benefit.
Any advise on how to use this situation to my advantage and how to now disappoint my investors would be appreciated.
Monthly earnings of the business at the moment is about a full time minimum wage job but I barely work 3 honest days work a week.
Any ideas?

Tomorow morning im attending an information day for a franchise called Chips Away, its a cosmetic car paint repair company in the UK.
I'm happy with the demand for the service and i already have questions regarding the franchise area and services / fees offered / taken by head office. But is there anything /biz/ would reccomend i inquire about? i'd like to have some tough questions for them.
We're meant to be given a demonstration of a paint repair and i already plan on asking to key the car for them as i want to test the IRL quality of the service the offer.
