I don't really trust Reddit for this kind of question. I want to move to the Seatac area to be closer to family and aggressively pursue my career in web development. I have two years' experience in QA with Selenium and most positions require 3 to 5, but there isn't much reason to stay in my current market.

What, if any, tech recruiting firms do you trust in Seattle, /biz/?

Image related. I want to move.

Although money market funds seek to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in a money market fund.

Casinos are rigged. That's not even a secret. Everyone knows it. If they weren't rigged, they wouldn't be profitable.
Put your money in penny stocks instead. The odds are better.

So /biz/, my parents were poor and never taught me shit about CD's/bonds/mutual funds/stocks, etc..

I'm 21 making roughly $250 a week, about to enroll in my local community college to begin my pursuit of an economy degree. Today I bought a candy vending machine to begin building a small, passive business as an asset. What should I be doing with my spare cash, such as CD's/bonds, etc., other than expanding my business over time? Any and all advice is welcome, thanks for your time.

Hey stupid ass did you parents have to teach you not to eat your own filth? No? Oh, well then dont blame them for you being a retarded ass and not researching and learning things like that on your own. Especially with resources like the internet. Kill yourself you overprivileged basement-dweller. Get off 4chan.

Harsh but I agree, you can literally read up about bonds/stocks/mutuals on investopedia for an hour and you're set to start.

Isn't it the parent's responsibility to teach their children shit they HAVE to know in the modern world? Isnt that a responsibility if you have a child?

Hey guys, did I fuck myself by helping a buddy?

My idiot coworker is terrible with money. For about half a year he was always asking me for money to cover his bills, and then would go out every weekend.

I didn't mind because I would tell him no, then he would say "Bro if you spot me I'll pay you back plus $50."

These expenses kept adding up and up and up, until finally he paid in back all at once when he got his yearly commission check. It came out to $3,800. That was in June. He has since moved back in with his parents, so I don't lend him money anymore.

Now I'm applying for a mortgage to buy a home, and the bank wants to know where that money came from.

I'm thinking of just telling them the truth, but I want to make sure I'm not fucking myself by accident.

Nobody has a right to know where your money came from

>>

This isn't the feds though.

It's a private bank vetting me to see if they want to lend me money in order to purchase a home.

Why would you ever take out a fucking loan on a house. Your first mistake was not immediately paying in cash, and your second was posting here asking the dumbest question imaginable.

Hey /biz, just throwing out an idea tonight while at work, although I dont know if anyone here will be able to help as its only half financial, and half technical.

How would I go about adding a (legal) payout method to an Android app?

I know its possible because there's a shit ton of apps already on the market that do it, but googling it only gives me ads for those junky apps instead of how-to info.

Also as far as taxes go, say I payout $3 out of ever $5 I recieve, would I report $2 or $5 as income? Ive never done something like this before.

And no, its not a gambling app.

>>
>>1445594
Figured biz would know the tax part at least
>>
>>1445594
give an example of the apps that already do it.

i would say that your turnover is $5, but the costs would be $3. i am not sure how you would define the payout as a cost, i.e. i don't know the type of cost as it is a reverse-subscription or bonus payment or something.

income is money through the door. you're taxed on what is left after costs.
>>
>>1447167
Most payout apps are shitty and revolve around ads or suveys, stuff like Adme. The kind of stuff that pops up when you google "apps to make money".

Mine, at its basic level, could be described as a digital marketplace but instead of connecting buyers to sellers, sellers can only sell to me directly, and the same for buyers so I have complete market control within the app's scope.

Thats a VERY vague explanation.

Ive never created anything that pays intead of only taking money.

I'm back and need more wisdom
I'm still being paid under the table, but I need to put the money I've earned into the bank systems so I can continue to pay off my car loan, power bill, utilities, rent, and purchase equipment for my work. I'm bringing in between 2,000-4,000 per month, and the tax man will have his way with me if I'm caught not paying the America fees.
I'm not thrilled for taxes, but I'm not going to try to duck this and get dinked.
I had an idea to get a llc license, so that I could claim my income, and not have to worry. But is a llc right for my situation?
I'm a tree worker, and I work for a company that pays cash, and when I'm not, I'm out doing jobs on my own, which also pay in cash or checks. I've kept records of my income and purchases that are related to my work, I just don't know where to go next. Search results brought up legal zoom and a few other sites to get started on getting an llc, are they recommended?

>Buy a cashiers check to pay rent

Anybody here use FBA?

How much stock do you generally keep at Amazon warehouses? Are there any storage fees that make it better to keep excess stock at your house?

>How much stock do you generally keep at Amazon warehouses?

Are these serious questions? Yes they charge money to store and so you want to keep the amount only to cover the sales you project.

You could have figured this out if you used any of your brains.
>>
>>1445541

I do FBA books, but I don't usually send in more than 1 of each book, so this isn't really a problem. I guess if you're doing private label shit it could be a pain.

I'm truly no rocket surgeon, but I'm definitely not some fuckin' chimp, either.

I (humbly) have $20,000.00 USD to invest in. I'm very vanilla and by no means much of a risk-taker when it comes to my money, so I'm really finding this prospective CD Ladder concept very enamoring.

I really don't mind making pennies off the dollar (since I'm not using this "emergency" savings for anything, anyways). It's truly better than my money just rotting in my bank account not doing anything.

Anyways, /biz/ always shoots straight and has the most "real world" perspective... I was wondering, if you're in this position, is this what you would pursue? How would you pursue it?

Rates are so bad that I wouldn't do it personally. But it's fine if you're extremely risk-averse. If you want to increase your returns a bit, you could always invest a small portion in securities, but if you don't feel comfortable doing that, then don't.
>>
>>1445557

As long as the rates are better than my bank account percentages, I don't think I mind too much.

I'll definitely look into some financial advice about specific, low-risk securities, though.

>TFW 21 years old highschool dropout with no skills

Is there any hope for me? I remember I asked for help about 8 months ago and I got some great advice and help from other anons and it really motivated me but then a month in I just went crazy and have done absolute nothing up to this point. I'm probably going to get kicked out when my parents feel sorry for me and I really have no motivation or skills to do anything. I worked a blue collar job for a while and saved every penny for some time and so I've just been buying miscellaneous shit with that and not working for years. I want to be self-sufficient and financially independent but it almost feels like that ship has long sailed

I can barely get basic daily tasks done. I live in Ontario Canada, how do I get started fixing my life?

eh, just give up. You are right, your ship has sailed. 21 is too late to turn your life around. If you start today, you will never be able to make something of yourself. Not even if you get your GED, a job, and a college degree, or start practicing a trade.
>>
>>1445514
I know I can if I start but I'm just struggling to find any motivation.

I think my brain is messed up or something, I just can't do things anymore. Before I used to be a loser but at least I had some sort of dreams, lately I haven't been able to do a thing. I'm just kind of apathetic to it all and I want it to stop. I want to be motivated and feel sharp and excited to get things done.

Should I start taking modafinil or something? What's that shit you business guys are always raving about?
