I got some micro crabs today. Limnopilos naiyanetri. Basically tiny little pompom spider crabs. They're hard to breed so I'm not going to bother trying. If it happens, it happens, but I don't think it'll happen.
I have them in a shrimp tank with red cherry shrimp and a few otos.
Managed to catch this one scuttling from one patch of java moss to the other. They're hard to see, they hide in pretty small cracks, so I guess they're not the best display species. Still fairly neat.
A better picture. Found on net, I don't have a camera this good.
Ignore the harlequins. They were just in there as a very temporary solution while I figured out what to do with them. I don't think they'll attack adult shrimp but they'll eat babies.
The only actual fish I keep in this tank is a trio of otos, which as far as I know are the only fish that won't even eat shrimp babies.
Do you like the longnose gar?
no, fucker's nose is too long
I like gar ^_^ also this idiot asking about my Florida gar.
rare pikepike
Any idea which species that might be? They are on my windowsill. . .
Another pic with some sort of mite.
Seems like it's some sort of springtail.
Collophora? I'm not sure... I need a zoom
So I know almost nothing about plant anatomy. But I decided to grow a plant for fun. Can anyone tell me what this is on the base of one of the stens .

What advice would you give a lifelong cat person, potential future dog owner?
Also, how to deal with puppy fever?
Just get a dog. You'll quickly become a dog person, trust me.

shoop the fuck up
So my 2 year old female cat started vomiting early this morning around 6 AM. This usually is normal for her when she eats too much, and she'll usually vomit twice then eat again and be ok.
Since this morning she has puked about 4-5 times, with the last being a small amount of brown liquid. The other times had been solid food mixed with brown liquid. Since then she has been very lethargic, wanting to lay on her side and back, and meows when I touch her belly area.
Am I being paranoid? Usually she gets over these things fairly quickly but she seems like she's taking it a bit harder this time. I have water sat out, and took up the bowls of wet food I sat out last night, in case something was bad. I haven't checked her litter box lately but I think she is ok there, she hasn't been using it frequently but she also hasn't used it at all.
Thanks for any advice!
Pic related, my cat when she was a kitten.

Take her to the vet. My cat started vomiting uncontrollably and laying on her side in apparent discomfort and she died the next day due to organ failure.
>>2304981
Jesus I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm actually at the vet right now, waiting on a blood panel. She had vomited bile 2 times and was not getting better, so thought better to be safe than sorry.
>>2304993
Was the bile yellow or pink and foamy?
Pink and foamy means blood in the stomach, which could mean stomach lacerations/ulcers induced by organ failure.
Please help me in identification of this baby turtle specie

This. Science nowadays is just based on how much profit there is to be gained. Nobody's gonna pay people to run around rain forests and study wildlife anymore.
Help me out bros. My mother is the type of person that somewhat believes that animals will do anything as if they're supposed to automatically see something and 2 and 2 together. Now my sister orders a shit bird lease from some company based in CHINA thinking it's actually going to work. But surprise, it doesn't. It breaks immediately, but not without almost checking my bird. So now my mother wants to try again with pic related to fix it and try again even though the result will be same. I went and bought a better leash with my money, but I know shell go behind my back and try to force him into the bad lease. What do? Pic is shit lease
>>2304662
Throw it away? Call your mom a whore and train your bird to attack her.
>>2304662
Also bird leashes hurt thier wings. Imagine if you started running fulls peed but had ropes wrapped around your shoulders that yanks you back.
>>2304669
Well I have it with me for safe keeping, and bought pic related
And as I much as I'd love to, I like having a roof over my head
So this dog was a stray and walked up to us a couple years ago and we've had her ever since.
I would just love to know her breed or mix of breeds. IMO she just has to prominent features to just be a mutt.
Shes extremely smart and protective.
Any input or opinion is valued.
Thanks!
Her when shes ANGEREY
Can someone explain this to me , im not trolling.
Ok so the claim is posionous animals have bright colors so predators know its posion. This doesnt make sense to me because why not just be camouflage and then if you get ate eventually youll learn that you shouldnt eat this animal because everyone that eats it dies. Also wouldnt every animal be bright colors if animals are instinctively scared of bright colored prey? This is so confusing and stupid.
I think it would be a warning to make them think about the consequences of eating it, so the predator could maybe spare it's life and look for a better meal whilst if it was camouflaged the predator would assume the camouflage was the organisms main mode of defence and eat it...
>>2304138
It's the same reason we mark construction areas with bright orange cones/signs, so you know the danger.
If a predator knows that bright green frog is dangerously toxic, it will give that frog a wide berth.

Did you get that pic from /lgbt/?
