Is this a brown recluse? Scared shitless right now.
Why do people still come here to identify spiders? Of course it's a brown recluse. It's always a brown recluse. If you have to ask, its a brown recluse.
>>2381947
How the absolute unholy fuck do you expect anyone to tell you what that fucking thing is with your grainy ass picture taken with your 1999 cereal box contest ass camera?
But no, it's not a recluse. Body shape's wrong.
Looks like a huntsman. They hunt in packs. It was nice knowing ya m8

What is your opinion of this birb?

Basically the turks of birbs. They are freaking everywhere.
they are..... strong boys
>>2380369
I can't help but love them even if they are an invasive species, especially after raising an abandoned hatchling. It would be cool to open some kind of rescue since wildlife centers won't take them. Pigeons and starlings already have dedicated rescues for that reason. Maybe keep them in a big aviary of some sort and adopt them out to good homes. Is there a way to keep them from breeding like how pigeon-keepers use dummy eggs?
It would also be cool to somehow transport all of them back to the old world as their numbers are sharply declining there. Though the root of their decline would have to be addressed first.
If a pure herbivore is at that early onset of starvation where they're very weak and disorientated, let's say one were to give them a raw beef cut.
Would they get absolutely zero nutritional value from it?
Or would their starvation symptoms improve?
I know most animals would vomit it back up.
But let's say it was a horse. They're physically incapable of vomiting and would be forced to digest it. So what then?
There are lots of articles about herbivores eating meat on the internet, and all of them just drop buzzwords about enzymes and crap.
I know the horse would be malnourished. These samey articles made that very clear.
What they didn't answer is as I said: absolute zero nutrition? Or some but not enough?
They would benefit from it, yes. Meat and plants provide some of the same benefits. Really depends on the herbivore for how much it would benefit. Their symptoms would not improve much as you might think but it may tide them over just a bit.
How long they could survive on only meat, I have no idea.
my rabbit basically just eats dog food and books
>>2380038
there's no such thing as a "pure herbivore."
Why the funk do the powers that be want to meme us into eating bugs. They have a feed conversion efficacy similar to chicken. What's the point besides degrading and humiliating the civilized cultures?
>>2379547
>eating bugs
I eat chickens that eat bugs. Am I thereby eating bugs by proxy?
Because with the threat of overpopulation booming ever closer, some people want to create more sustainable/varied farming in the form of insects, which would help alleviate food based shortages.
Nobody wants to humiliate anyone for no reason. Why would you even assume that?
>>2379547
>requires much less space
>emmits much less greenhouse gases
>much cheaper for small entrepreneurs
>more nutritious
>needs less food
Are you this much of bitch that you think eating insects will make you uncivilezed somehow?
If anything it is more civilized to be more efficient.
Queen Edition

Got three orchid mantis today, and with my two thistle I'm taking care of five now. A little intimidated, and the orchid nymphs are suicidal and keep falling. Not sure what to do about it.
>test tubes arriving tomorrow
>rain tomorrow night
>nuptial flights everywhere
>no plans for the weekend
I'm getting me some queens if it's the last fucking thing I do.
Aaaaand I forgot to put in our resources.
Did we agree on anything last thread?

I know we don't much care for honks around here, but this made me reee
Guess some ass munch was fishing in the preserve and didn't clean up his shit, so now this one is tangled in fishing line and it's wrapped around her mouth. The thing I circled is a lure, still attached and dangling with hooks on it, and she had about 6 feet of line dragging behind her.
I couldn't get close enough to set her free, my presence was just stressing out and already visibly stressed animal even more
Call your local animal welfare organization and report it.

I kinda hate dogs, and especially dog owners, but golden retrievers awe me. They just seem like the most perfect breed possible. If I ever had a dog I'd want a golden.
Are there any cons to them? They seem like angels.
>>2379845
Cons: dog's lifespan. Half that if poorly bred.
absurd amount of shedding
>>2379845
They're kinda really prone to cancer but aside from that it's just standard dog downsides i.e. always hungry, lots of energy, shedding. They also love everyone so they make terrible guard dogs but unless you're a methhead living in a trailer park that shouldn't be relevant.
What does /an/ think about this show?
Just like any TV show it's overproduced and "injected" with artificial drama. But the fish are pretty cool
>>2379590
Really cool show, learned a lot about fish that way.
>>2379590
Pretty cool. I wouldn't say there's extra drama injected or that it's overproduced, though. Saw some sea monsters show, dear God wasn't it just a piece of shit. Really overproduced and with drama injected.
River Monsters manages to still be informative most of the time and to produce enjoyable landscape scenes. Maybe it changed in later seasons, I don't know. And y ou have a guy explaining what he's doing and why as he's doing it, it's always nice.
