10. Maximum comfy.

I change clothes in front of them, sleep in the same room as them, lounge on the couch with them, sometimes shower with them if they're dirty and I need to wash them and can't be bothered taking them to a groomer.

We spend most of our time together.

Why the hell do you need a bachelors degree in zoology nowadays to zookeep?

The pay isn't even good to begin with and AZA people still want you to go into debt for life to get hired.

Canned cat foods without carrageenan?

I feed my cats canned food, because I care about them not being dried out. Dry cat food only has 5-15% moisture in it, while cats need about 75% because they don't have a strong thirst drive.

Anyway, the food I give them now has carrageenan in it and I need to find a canned cat food that does not have this poison in it, preferably without any gums either.

I know ideally I'd be buying them organic meats and feeding it to them (no spices of course as they are bad for cats and onions and garlics and chives are poison too) but let's just say I'm not the one paying for their food so I can't ask the person doing it to go that far with the money.

SO give me a as healthy as possible canned cat food, without carrageenan in it.

Would like to avoid BPA too if possible

I heard Weruva was pretty good, but I have no idea if it's up to your standards
>>
>>2376567
i'll look into that
>>
Organic doesn't mean it's better anon.

Research the company that you want to buy from, not just the ingredients list. If it's a good company, they'll be doing the research for you on good food and not adding shit like what you are afraid of.

If it's a bad company, then words like 'organic' and 'bpa free' aren't going to mean jack shit because they will look for and find lupeholes.

I've adopted a cat from a friend who had to move. They let their cats eat as they pleased, and this one in particular got really fat. I'm working on the weight loss thing, but I want to take it slow and steady on that front so he's going to be big for a while.

In the meantime, he's large enough that he has trouble cleaning properly. I want to be able to pet him, but his back gets pretty greasy and gross. I've brushed him a bunch which is keeping him relatively debris free, but he remains oily of course. I've seen these cat wipe doodads around, are they any good for this? What are my other options to clean is coat while he's slimming down? I don't think water bathing is an option.

I have those exact same wipes OP. They are ok. Have to get them wet sometimes. They don't irritate them at all though. They will help a bit with the oil and other shit he doesn't clean.
>>
I just used baby wipes when my cat had the cone on. If it's good enough for a baby's ass, it's good enough for a cat's back.

Alright, thanks! I'll give these a try first, I didn't even think of baby wipes so that'll be my backup plan.

What kind of things specifically are making the ambiance of the Amazon Rainforest?

You mean the sounds smells and feels? Well, mostly bugs make the noise. Then birds, then animals.
>>

There is no "ambiance" when you're actually in it. It is harsh, demanding, and dangerous. As it should be.

I'm a little worried if she's going to be having bad luck, or does it not apply to our canine friends?

What we can infer from black cats being unlucky is that bad luck affects animals too. You better watch your dog closely over the next few days.

Ok so I'll share something I've been doing, probably one of the most autistic things I've done.

I've posted something similar in the past but this time I think it has come together way better. It's basically a list of all the known animals kept in captivity (by particulars) around the world. I only have 2300 or so species in there, I'm sure there's a lot missing.

All of the amphibians have a automatic counter headline, a duplicate check and are in alphabetic order. Others might have some features but not others, or none at all, so it's not complete in that sense. If you want to use this just for consultation be my guest. If you know of species missing, check if there's any synonym name and then see which one is the most recently updated and let me know.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A6rBFNZb-UvnSwoGFKkX-AXDAssiBuVEiOR9IIOtQKo/edit?usp=sharing

If this for some reason gets popular around here I'll make efforts to try and get more people working on it.

Someone brought me this little guy here yesterday. I fed him a fly, some sugar water and a tiny bit of a meat stick for cats.
I thought he wouldn't make it through the night but he did and now he's way more lively and hungry.
Problem is, I got no Insects to feed him with (just a tiny amount of aphids) and one of the only ones I had left, a hoverfly, he couldn't or didn't want to swallow.
Frozen Insects will arive at thursday if I'm lucky, the weather is shit, so I can't catch much.

Will the little guy survive on cat snacks and sugar water for three days?
Any other Ideas?

Birds need vitamin a especially

You need to find a bird formula, oatmealy consistency, what are u waiting for call a vet!
>>
Thanks, you two.
At least the protein and fat of the snacks seem to fit according to that site.

>call a vet
Plan is to organize a drive into civilisation and hand that little guy over to someone who knows what he's doing as soon as possible.

my cat won't eat the food I give her it all started when I bought her those fancy feast wet food from the super market and now she won't touch other food and just whine all night. I figured once she is hungry enough she will eat whatever but then I read that if I let them starve they will have a liver disease? she take a whole day to eat 2.5 oz of wet food she is 2 yrs old roughly speaking should I take her to the vet?

>>
My cats love that stuff. When we bought them some other wet food they just wont eat it. They still eat their dry food though.
>>
Few things, make sure the dry food you are feeding it is grain free. Some cats really don't like food with corn or grain and once they are introduced to a food source that doesnt give them the same digestion problems they will just ignore all their old food and only seek out the new.

Also try mixing the fancy feast with some other food, start at 75% fancy 25% other, and slowly dwindle it down.

Finally as long as the wet food is a fine quality there is no reason you couldn't only feed it that, just need to determine right daily amount given your cats weight. However I don't really know much about fancy feast in terms of it is suitable for daily intake.
>>
I swear, Fancy Feast is the devil's food. It took over the minds of both of my cats the moment they touched it and they were never the same since.

Hi /an/,
I'm new here, have had numerous cats in the past but this is my first time caring for a snake. He's a corn, maybe 2.5 ft, and im not sure how old.
Here's my issue- I've had him for 2 weeks and he took his first meal down no problem. Around 2 days ago i fed him again (hoppers), and he threw up his meal after 1 day. On top of this, I noticed he has a scale peeling off his head (pic). Does anyone know the reason this is happening?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
They may regurgitate food if theyre full or feel threatened when theyre eating. How far apart were the feedings? Is he shedding entirely or just the head?
>>
>>2375022
The feedings were a little less than a week apart, maybe 5 days. He's only shedding one scale on his head from what I can tell.
I did let a friend handle him the day I fed him, and I have a feeling that the way in which my friend handled him may have stressed him out (very grabby, less guiding).
Also when I fed him he did not seem to want to strike at the hopper, he waiting til it was placed down and slowly approached it.
>>
>>2375034

Wait for a full week or more between feedings.
Scale is probably stuck shed, it looks smeitransparent so i wouldn't be overly concerned.
