How do i stop attracting girls with daddy issues?
I dont know what is it about me but girls that are a bit younger than me and have daddy issues are extremely direct about their intentions towards me
How do i stop this and get other type of girls into me?

Are they much younger than you and are you in your late 20s or 30s? It really depends as girls with issues like this tend to go for much older guys as a substitute.

Do you look rebellious or prim and proper? Its likely an appearance thing so maybe try a new look.
>>
>>17375617
attracting them is one thing, recognizing up front they have daddy issues and rebuffing them another. Spot and avoid instead of spot and play your savior role.

Hello there /adv/ how are doing today?
(Sorry my bad english)
So, I'm having problem to live this life. I don't know if I believe in God or if life's porpose is a real thing, but each path I throw my mind the answer isn't good. What keep you guys motivated? There's a path to follow? What's the meaning of all this?

I'm sorry.

>What keep you guys motivated?
Nothing.
> There's a path to follow?
There is, but it's indiferent.
>What's the meaning of all this?
There is no meaning.

Our lifes are just a death sentence. There is nothing especial here for us, there is nothing after this. We are like cheap products from China: dispensable.
Some people think there is a God watching for us, teaching us to be a better person and giving us a special place when all this end.
This is a beautifull way to improve their daily life, this bring warm into the hearth and (mostly) turn those people into very good citizens, but is just an illusion.

Look to the sky at night and see what we are.
The reality is: we are nothing.

Go see a profesionnal. Neuroticism is not something that can be cured by reading a book.

Whenever I comb my hair, there's always some chunks of hair that start sticking up, and it fucking annoys me. Even when I apply water or hair product, when the stuff dries up, some chunks of hair start sticking up again.

What do I do about it?

Either you have cow licks, locks or you let them dry in an awkward position

I had a similar problem for a while. If it starts out straight and curls as it dries, consider a stronger hair product. I use pic related, it holds really well and doesn't get all flaky over time like some of the other products do.

If my boyfriend from England was living in the US for a year or so would he be able to get a job here?

It's actually quite complicated. Applicants need to have the right visa to be able to work. You should look up the american visa processes.

If he is on a student or tourist visa, no.

If you marry him, yes.
>>
>>17375497
Presumably he would come on a tourist visa, which limits the length of his stay and specifically forbids working. If he married you, he could then apply for a green card (resident alien status). But because so many people try that route to get around the laws, he and you would be subject to rigorous investigation, and he would be in a limbo ( and perhaps even deported) while that was going on.

The only way for him to get a work visa is to have a job lined up before he moves, with the prospective US employer filling out all sorts of forms in advance.

I just graduated and turned 18. I have been accepted in higher education that leads to a promising job. However, I'm not really interested in this. I haven't really found something that captivates me. How did you guys discover your hobbies? How to find mine?

Try out lots of things. Eventually you'll find something that sticks. Learn to play an instrument, try cooking, write, dance. there are so many things to do. The world is your oyster, my friend. No, the world is a buffet of experiences. Let out your belt a couple notches and get eating.
>>
I got into music because I come from a family of musicians, so it's always felt pretty natural to me. As for cooking, I learned to do it out of necessity and now I love it. I also make jewelry because I got my ears pierced and one day found myself with several lengths of small chain, some pliers and a small ankh charm. I definitely like doing all of these things, but I don't know that I could consider any of these are career path for me right now. Then again I have a severe seizure disorder that keeps me from working right now, So I've kind of had to reconcile my identity with living in a capitalist society that places a lot of value on what you do for work.

Tldr just get out and do shit, also you may just fall into something because you have to

>was rejected by dream woman
>still like her
>feel like every woman I meet still doesn't compare

How to get out of this
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Honestly? Meet other women, bud. And try to actively not think about her. Eventually you'll find another "perfect"woman. It's all part of the game.

You met her, so you can meet others that you'll like as much,or more, than her.
>>
>>17375387
Meet more women and get more experience in life; time and experiences always put things in perspective.

The most important thing is to keep on doing something actively and not passively.

Good luck OP.
>>
>>17375387
If it makes you feel better I'm in the same boat. I'll row with you buddy.

Is it normal for friends to bail on you all the time? I've tried cutting ties with the people who abandon me but then I'm left with no one.

Is this just normal, people cancel plans repeatedly or just don't show up?

You're below low priority to them. Ditch 'em.

The world is stuffed to the gills with assholes, given how people change on a moment-to-moment basis and whatnot. But there's a lot of shitty people, it's fair to say, or at least, those people aren't getting back to you right now. It's normal for people who aren't really your friend, pretty much.
>>
>>17375351
No, that's not normal from my experience

Fuck them

I constantly imagine myself living my life with a girl I met when I was ten (around 15 years ago). I remember how she looked like, but I don't remember how she behave around me, the things we did, not even if we were good friends or if she liked me. I just somehow became obsessed with her. And since I don't remember how she was, I filled the void with characteristics that were appealing to me. So I end up creating the perfect girl for me. Now, the problem is that I have a girlfriend, I have friends, I have a somewhat active social life, but everything seems boring and uninteresting compared to the things I think I would live with her. Sometimes thinking about her is like a placebo that helps me to get through difficult situations. But I think it's not healthy being satisfied with a thing like that, when I could go out and try to experience the real thing.

I think that all of this would end if I look for her and see with my own eyes that she's not the girl I met and later imagined. But I don't think I'd be able to find her, so do you have any advices?

Thank you in advance!

I'm wondering if I should get a loan to buy a car or save up for a bed and furniture.

I am moving to a new apartment soon, I have $1000 saved up for the cost of moving. I work nearly 60 hours a week. My boss has stated I may stay at work between my chain of 13 to 17 hour shifts. I eat at work so I don't have to buy food, and I can do laundry for free. The winter's are tough and the apartment is just over an hour walk to work. And the buses don't run Sunday, which I always work.

You could get more utility out of a car.

It's the cheapest place anywhere around. Everywhere else is easily $200+ extra a month.

Sometimes when I'm laying in my room I imagine all walls a mile out invisible and I could see what people are doing/ body position, sorta like Sims. It helps me with being less lonely. I'm always wondering what people are doing. I was wondering if you guys compare alone time to other people?

When I lived in London I sort of pondered what others were doing, as it's a truly 24 hour city

Conversely, where I live now, after midnight, the roads are yours. Even the main roads. You can drive for miles around city roads and not see a single person
...I imagine I'm the last person left on Earth sometimes. So kind of the opposite

/adv/, I'm feeling the need to be around people, not be alone with my thoughts lately. But I'm generally introverted and have pretty much set up my life routine with a lot of alone time. I have plenty of friends but they're pretty scattered and busy and it can be difficult to get together with them. What are some ideas to get out into casual social situations? At this point small talk is fine with me. Bonus difficulty: I don't drink, so it's a little weird for me to just go to a bar alone.

Yo, I'm not really asking for advice, nor am I really giving advice here honestly, but it seems like there's a lot of people on here going through a lot of shit... so to everybody out there, do your best. Keep your head up. trying to have a nice day. Do something nice for yourself. You deserve it.

We were off and on for 8 months. I got too busy for anything towards the end of it, it wasn't fair to him so we ended it for the most part mutually (He was the one to end it, out of frustration, to which I apologized, and he accepted it) He messaged me earlier, and we were talking about what happened between us. His last message was this, after I told him I feel I'm still too immature to date anyone.

"Would it be so crazy to start again? I mean, I had, and still do have feelings for you. You told me back then you felt the same. I'm not sure if you still do, but I look at it as while it's only been about a year, we've both had a bit of growing up to do. I thought we worked out well together. You say you're still too immature for anything, honestly I feel that we just didn't communicate well at the time. I thought that if we met at a later time, out of high school, things would have ended up differently. I mean, I felt like I was on cloud nine when I was around you. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss that."

He said he was "on cloud nine" when he was around me. I know he liked me a lot, but did he fall in love with me?
