2 months ago I was arrested on a class B - misdemeanor AI(public intoxication). It was my first only time being in any trouble whatsoever. I spent the night in jail and a week later got my court date waived and now all I'm to do is pay a fine to the county clerk.
Fast forward to today, I live in the same state but in a different city and I'm applying for a job as a patient transporter at a hospital. As you can probably guess I'm worried about them running a BG check and seeing my AI charge.
On the application, it asks "Have you ever been convicted of (or have a pending conviction) of a crime?" Then it goes on to say "The term crime includes misdemeanors/felonies but not minor traffic infractions, it DOES include crimes such as DUI, driving w suspended license, leaving scene of crime, passing bad checks, assault, domestic violence, reckless driving, ect)
So basically here's the thing: I know I've been charged but I haven't been convicted yet, since I have NOT payed the fine yet, if I believe correctly. So does this mean the AI charge will not come up on a BG check yet? Or do "pending convictions" still come up?
If I check the "yes" box they will giv ean opportunity to explain the conviction in a drop box below.
For any other job I wouldn't care if the employers find out, because it's not a huge deal I know, but, and I know this is gay/childish whatever, my mom works in the same hospital and she doesn't know about my AI charge and I really don't want her to find out about it if by chance I'm not hired because of it and she goes asking why or an employee shoots off there mouth about it to her. It would break her heart and I really want to avoid that situation.
So /adv/ if I check the "no" box and they run a BG check, will my record show my public intoxication, even though I haven't been to court or payed the fine yet? And if I check "yes" and explain it, will my mom find out about it through the grapevine?
Gotta finish the application tonight.

I'm not a scientist, but I think public intoxication wont harm your chances, since they're definitely looking more for something like a DUI or something more serious. Honestly no one would give a fuck about a public intoxication charge, almost everyones been there before. Three times myself, and I work in a hospital now.

Not really, but I do have weird shit going on with my eyes. Sometimes my eyesight is perfect, and other times my vision bounces around and it becomes impossible to focus on anything. But it was diagnosed as nystagmus. Only happens a few times a week, but outside of that my vision is near perfect.

22yo, been single for 1+ year after 3y diatance relationship, which ended with ther breaking up with me a few months after she moved out to uni (was distance even before that).
We decided to meet up and seal the deal face to face afdter a month or so, when I learn she's moved on and well with her own life and fucking some guy seven years older than her (and me).
Almost flipped out in front of her, I knew that was probably going to happen but I discovered that no, you cannot just tell yourself you're fine with it.
Let's be clear, we had reasons to break up and it couldn't continue much longer. I certainly do not want her back and I'm kind of glad I'm probably nevergoing to see her again.
Come back home,try not to think about her for a while until one day I open up facebook and I'm once again made aware of how she's enjoying life whilst feeling inferior for some bloody reason.
Take all old pics and letters that I saved, burn them, piss on the ashes and burn them again. Then proceed to get rid of social media and break off all contact with her.
She sends me a text telling me i'm behaving like an immature idiot (which is obviously true) but I cannot bring myself to admit to her I'm feeling like something must be wrong with me for not knowing what I need and surely not how to get it
Rest of the year has been rather uneventful. Had only a single one-night stand plus a second base another time.
And here I am, studying day and night till my brain explodes so I can graduate from uni and move the fuck out of this stagnant, oversized village they call city, where i've been living all my life.
And all in all I'm regretting the way i've handled it all.
What does it even mean to get over someone? I'm trying to enjoy life and time with my friends, an I know i'm working for my future but it doesn't fulfil me all that much, and I'm living in the hope that things will change,

Alright so this may not answer your question completely but I currently milk my student loan for extra cash.
Basically for New York colleges (dunno about the rest of the US) you have to fill out a shit ton of forms every year for the loan. Once you get that done you pick how much you want, I usually take out $7,500 a year. That then gets split into $3,750 for each semester.
How it works for me is if I take 4 classes for one semester, I'll use up that $3,750 and have to pay $100-$200 extra out of my own pocket. If I take less than 4 classes (3 or less) my college sends me a personal check in my name for the difference since my loan ($3,750) covered more than my tuition for that semester.
For example, last semester I took 3 classes and got a check for around $700 that I kept for bills.
This semester I'm taking 2 classes since I just got my associates degree and want to take a break. I should get a check for around $1,500-$1,600 which is gonna a help kill my $1,200 in credit card debt.
Of course solid disclaimer, you WILL have to pay this back eventually but who cares, that's in 10 years or so, milk it while you still can!

so before we get into this I have been in an off and on again relationship for 3.5 years. I even left at one point and was dating another girl for a while, but went back because I always had the notion that my gf was the one, despite the way she treated me.
Now the whole issue is I haven't been happy for while, and now I, as of last night, without my intention I got to talking to a girl just ranting and raving about our horrible relationships. Ended up talking to her late into the night and it eventually shifted from relationships to just personal stuff and jokes. She led some of the conversation to sexual content but I through some serious effort restrained from partaking in more of the in depth but talked about some of it mostly just my lack of sex life and frustration.
Now I am feeling guilty. I feel like I've cheated on my gf just through text alone. Emotionally I guess.
I am pretty unhappy with the way the relationship is going. I used to think I could marry this girl and spend my life with her. Now I have a hard time imagining the future and can't even come up with a nice comment about her. I've tried and tried to but other than physical attributes I can't think of much.

Hey /adv/, I'm a NEET who actually looked at themselves and decided to turn their life around. I've been applying to retail places left and right, but nobody's calling me back with a job offer. I applied to fast food too and the same shit happened.
So I was reading online and a tip that people shared was that you should call the place you applied to after a few days and bullshit that you're checking if they got your application so that the hiring manager knows who you are and looks at your application specifically.
So what do you do if the place you applied to has an e-mail system where you get an e-mail saying "This e-mail is proof of your application being received"? How are you supposed to stand out? I'm already using a modified version of a resume template I got from one of those men's fashion websites, so I think my resume looks interesting enough.

My girlfriend and I have been together roughly four months and I'm beginning to become disenchanted with her.
It all started when she mentioned that she didn't enjoy one of the books I reccomended her (Anna Karenina), and generally refuses to partake in things I like; i.e. Literature (She said she much preferrs history.), Golf, Donald Trump, Orthodox Christianity, etc.
She even went so far as to say she hated my dog, who I agree can get a little crazy sometimes, and kicked him in the stomach. She constantly makes jokes about frogs and lesbianism, leading me to suspect that she is indeed a lesbian.

I'm going to a job fair tomorrow at my local convention center and I wanted to know if it's okay to wear my college ring, figured it'd be a plus if employers saw it.
I'm a recent college graduate but I read that wearing jewelry to job fairs is not something you should do, I figured it was okay to wear a college ring at least, I don't see how that would hinder or be a deterrent for employers.

What are some good leadership opportunities that can make me more valuable within politics?
The plan is to go to college for political science, go to law school, and by that time have a few political contributions. Does that sound solid? I want to help my community and country.
I considered joining the military, as it would teach me leadership and discipline.

I don't really know what organizations would teach you leadership and discipline though. Definitely some volunteer work somewhere would help, even being a volunteer firefighter would be very good for that.

So, in person, tell him that you are feeling insecure, and need to hear the truth from him. Then tell him, without complaining, that you've felt neglected lately and want to know what's going on in his life. If there's some major commitment on his time, he needs to tell you about it.
Start there, anon. Communication is really the most important thing when it comes to conquering insecurity.
