To preface: I'm throwing a pool party tomorrow at 6 o'clock and this shit just happened. In dire need of help, anyone.
For the last few days, Chicago has been getting pretty bad storms, which caused a few very brief power outages. After the storms cleared, we noticed that the pool water was a lot murky-er than usual. We tried adding some chlorine/shocking the pool but to no avail, we finally noticed our filter system is completely off.
We tried playing with the circuits for about an hour with no luck, every other power source in the house is working.
Is there anything I can do? Is there anyone I can call on such short notice?

I've had social anxiety for the majority of my life but I've never really told anyone about it. It's impossible for me to be comfortable in public and start conversations. I don't have much to be insecure about, I am pretty confident about myself in all aspects except social interaction. I'm going to college in a couple years and I don't want this to be a problem for the rest of my life. What should I do about it? I was thinking of telling my parents and going to the doctors and seeing what they suggest. I'm just not sure what would be best though. I would be perfectly content with my life if I could solve this issue. Does anyone else have any first hand experience with overcoming social anxiety? If so what techniques did you use? If not, how would you go about solving this issue?

I'm going to shop for a real wedding ring with my girlfriend after proposing on holiday with a temporary / promise ring.
Within the price range we can afford.. she would either be getting a 1K diamond but there is the ~30% if chance she might want a really clear color she will only be getting a 0.75K ring. It is just hard to gauge.

Ok so ive been friends with a girl for a year now. But for the past few months I have noticed her behaviour has changed with me. Here my situation :

I will have enough saved for one semester...out of 4 years.
Not nearly enough for rent or whatever.
However my parents are poor as fuck and I feel bad d taking their money, they don't even own a house.
I've went to university before as a part time student and was barely able to juggle it with working part time, so my question is, is it possible to study full time (4-5 courses) and still work? Was I just bad at management of time?

I worked 25-30 a week for two years in college. I makntained a 3.5. But honestly id have been a 4.0 student if not for work. It sucks and i say really go to a reasonably priced school. Community college first and just bite the bullet on loans. Use the extra study time to mop up on more scholarships
