I've had a hard and sore lump on the base of my thumb for several weeks. It feels like it is part of the bone.
I've tried looking around on the net for possible explanations, and the only two options seem to be bone cancer or alien implant.
I had a full blood test done just before I got the lump. So if it was cancer, wouldn't it notice it?
Anyone know what else it could be?
I would post a picture of it, but it is not really big enough that you could tell from a picture. It's a bit bigger thatn a mosquito bite.

Hi /adv/,
I had a very close friend (21, male) who had been depressed for 6 months. He started taking antidepressants and just two weeks later, he jumped in front of a train. A few days before it happened, he texted me if I could come over for a beer. Was that supposed to be his final goodbye to me? He also left a note saying that he loved me. But why didn't he tell me about his plans before? I wish I could have given him a hug.
I miss him so much. He was the first person that I really connected with. Has anyone on /adv/ been through something similar? How do you cope with it? This all happened in January.

There is no way to know for sure but it's likely his invitation for a beer was indeed to make one more good memory. As someone who was suicidal before I can tell you it is extremely difficult to let other people know you are wanting and planning on taking your own life. You just want out.
As for how to cope with it; Time will heal hurt but it's won't disappear, you just learn to live with it. There is no shame in looking back and feeling sadness. Perhaps talking to people about it will help you process it.

Highschool senior here. I got invited into a group chat for a couple of days ago. I'm a pretty funny guy so I made a joke about this mixed guy being mixed with autism and Down syndrome. Individuals are different though and you have to determine what you feel is more appropriate. Hey /adv/ I'm pretty lost, there's a shy girl who doesn't really go out at all except twice a month with friends.She doesn't talk alot and only uses facebook as her form of social media.

I've had pinworms for maaany years. I'm 26, and I think I've had pinworms in me since at least I was 14. For some reason, I have this bad habit to scratch my ass, and then smell my fingers. My friends come over every Sunday night to play tabletop RPG's with me, mainly Pathfinder. We've been friends for almost 20 years, they're my best friends. I've dated my girlfriend for about 2 years and she lives at my house. My girlfriend has never liked my friends for some reason, I don't know why because they've never been rude to her but they just rub her the wrong way. Regardless she's never gotten in the way of our friendship before so I hoped she would just learn to like them eventually.
They come over to play and my girlfriend does not get it, at all. She thinks it's weird and childish. Whenever she sees us she just gives me the biggest disapproving looks.
Last Sunday they came over and one of my friends was drinking beer and he put down his drink on my table without a coaster. This is my table by the way, my girlfriend didn't buy this table, I don't care if you use a coaster or not. My girlfriend sees this and she flips the fuck out, telling him he doesn't respect other people's homes and to use a fucking coaster. My friend he said he was sorry but she says "If you were sorry you wouldn't do it to begin with." My other friends try to defend my friend but she tells them to mind their own business.
Finally I tell her it's just a coaster and to relax. She gives me the "I can't believe you're taking their side" look and angrily walks away. After they leave, my girlfriend is fucking furious at me. Complaining that I didn't take her side and I told her I didn't because I thought she was overreacting. She yelled at me for like 10 minutes and says she doesn't want my friends here anymore because they're 'disrespectful' and I'm a grown man and I shouldn't be playing those games anyway. I told her I'm not going to stop my friends from coming and for the last 4 days she's just been giving me the piss treatment.
What should I do? I'm not going to stop bringing my friends over and I don't want to leave. Do I just ignore her and hope she stops being dumb?
