Caffeine is a drug, and you are addicted if you can't physically stop.
I'll be attending a university come January (transferring from a college) & expect to be a full time student. In the meantime I am looking for a part time job to make some money as well, especially to pay some of the necessary bills. I've already tried to juggle school, & two part time jobs before, & even tried to deal with school & one full time job. Every time I found myself either giving up time for school, or the opposite, time for work because of the other. And for both, my personal time was taken away from me which is a given & that I've come to accept.
Now earlier today I was contacted by a company via email that had seen my resume on Indeed. They wanted to talk to me by phone & possibly offer me a job working full time for about $13-$14 an hour & with benefits such as insurance. I did my research on them & feel I would be a good fit for that company, & the pay is nice IMO as well. However, I do not want to work a full time job, not when my main focus is school & my studies. I emailed them back asking if they had any part time positions available & am awaiting word back.
Now with all that said, I come to /adv/. I like I said I am planning on being a full time student. I don't have many bills to pay other than a vehicle & a few other little things. I am currently living with my Father right now but I would like to move out sometime sooner than later. Have I made the right decision with that last company of which I had explained above? The full time pay & benefits would be amazing but I have a lot of trouble juggling between school & work. Part time still has decent pay but without the benefits, but that way I will be able to make a paycheck & focus on school. And I wonder, how have/are some of you juggling work & school? I'd appreciate some feedback & would love to read some stories from others such as yourselves.
Thank you!
When you have this problem you need to figure out what's the most important. I take it you already did that and you chose uni. Now, it may depend on what kind of job and uni yours are, but in my experience it's nearly impossible to balance both of them. A part-time job is do-able without having to sacrifice uni too much, at least if it has flexible hours, but a full-time job is almost impossible. Everyone I know who tried to do both for over 6 months failed in some respect, be it uni, job or their health. You won't be able to go to the classes, you'll have to learn everything by yourself and if you want to keep up with the uni you won't have any spare time for yourself. Or even sleep, depending on what you're studying.
If you are passionate about uni then by all means turn down the job offer and focus on it. Maybe get a part-time job, something that's not too demanding if you don't need the money. Get the easiest job that will give you the money you need, there's no reason to overextend yourself. You'll have plenty of time and more opportunities to earn money once you have a degree.

I worked all summer and saved my checks. I quit and am doing school full-time now because it's more important
>>17522947
finish school. $14 an hour is nothing. finish school
I'm trying to find rare tips and tricks I haven't yet heard of. What advice/bit of knowledge has changed your life the most, in a good sense? Something that's been very valuable to you.
just be yourself. Im a nearly 32 year old neet that lives with his parents is obease sleeps until noon or later almost everyday and jacks off nearly everday and shitpost on 4 chin and I HAVE NO REGRETS.
>>17522945
just kidding actually I have lots of regrets. But be your self. If your not yourself then who are you?
>>17522951
or you could try being someone else or like a machine that doesn't feel pain like the terminator (that would be badass). Basically my advice is I have no advice. other than don't do anything stupid. Unless doing something stupid doesn't have repercussions and is funny or at least has minimal repercussions. Or if you just feel like doing something stupid that doesn't have / has minimal repercussions.
if you could go back to high school, what would you have done differently?
Joined more sports, made friends, got a part time job, left the house more often, disregarded my moron parents.

Everything.
Why are bitches so boring and lame to talk to? Especially online...I browse gaia to get away from the 4chan cockfest and the only topics I find are about shopping, friends, depression and the occasional period...then I remember why I stopped browsing there. It takes a male troll to make them look interesting for fuck sake.
This really didn't deserve it's own thread
>>17522923
I feel like most women really aren't that interesting. You just want their pussy, and you'll go along with their bs to get it, right?
>>17522930
After a while, it really does.
My Situation:
>27 year-old still living at home with mom
>No GF (haven't been laid in five years)
>No social life (two good friends)
>Work history consists of menial service and retail jobs
>3 classes from getting my A.S. in Business Admin (Microecon, Precalc, AppliedCalc)
Basically I'm tired of being a pathetic loser, drain on my mom, disappointment to my dad, and want to give my life a major overhaul... possibly in the form of military service.
The two branches I'm considering are the Army and Marines. Any advice on what I should do moving forward? Things to think over before stepping into a recruiter's office?

My girlfriends mom is overbearing. What do I do?
She turned 18 a month ago and we've been dating for 11 months. All throughout our relationship she's been having bullshit curfews, no staying the night, no traveling, no visiting while parents aren't home. I thought things would change when she turned 18 but nope. Almost nothing changed. Her mom's excuse is "my house my rules". That's BS. Her house rules should have nothing to do with what she does on the outside. They should have no impact if she wants to go on a vacation to the Bahamas with me or wants to stay over at my house.
What can be done? Should she just say fuck it or what? Or am I just a faggot? I want to date a woman not a child man.
Go fuck yourself stupid kid, she is right. "my house my rules", keep that in mind mofo. Get some money and get a room if you wanna fuck.
>>17522900
These are the stipulation her mom put in place because it's gives her a sense of controll in a period of her daughter blossoming and leaving. Provide a place for your gf to live or move to, get gfs consent, then your free to tell her mom to go blow herself.
>>17522913
Okay, we don't do anything in her house. She tries to dictate what goes on OUTSIDE her house.
There was a girl that we had been having some music lessons for about 2 years, 3 years ago. She was always warm and friendly to me, so was I.
A year ago, I ran into her while heading back home from some shit, and she stopped me to greet me. At first, I didn't recognize her, she had changed so much. We had a small talk, and then she left because she was in a hurry.
I opened up a normiebook account a while back, and added her as a friend a while ago. I saw her in public the other day, but I was too far away/didn't see me, so we didn't interact or anything. Since then, I keep thinking about her.
Should I ever consider texting her hoping to go out sometime or is it worthless/will be stupid to text her out of fucking nowhere?
Yes, you should consider it if you want it. Just hit her up on facebook, make a little small talk and ask her out. To catch up or something, whatever.
You have nothing to lose by trying.
>>17522886
I do want it.
The thing is that I don't want the conversation to be derailed by trivial subjects, I just want it to be short and straight forward, we can talk about the rest if we go out.
Any advice on this?
>>17522898
Shit man, I can't tell you what you're going to talk to her. If you want to be forward just say "hi", tell her you were glad to meet her again, or something like that, wait for her to say "me too" and then ask her out.
is it possible to get a gf if you have a small penis? i'm in my late 20's, still a virgin and i've never had a girlfriend, i've gone on so many dates only to have girls reject me, i try to make myself look good, i'm nice to them, i'm just so sick of it man, i think that maybe if i tried to force them into having sex with me i'd have much better luck, i just don't know what to do anymore, my friends keep making fun of me cause i'm the only one who's still a virgin. I;ve sent pics of my dick to numerous girls online only to be told "i thought it'd be bigger"
can you guys give me some advice
>>17522832
Sure, just lower your standards. Maybe try dating a few fatties? Desperate girls do desperate things, brother.
>>17522832
If a girl wants to see your dick before agreeing to go on a date with you, then she isn't the kind of girl you should be dating.
>>17522832
you can get a gf, all men can, but unless you have a big penis, none of us can keep them
I'm straight that's all I know for my whole life. Me and her we are friends for like a while now. We always talk and share everything with each other. Even the most private things. Recently things are getting a bit weird now that I started to uncomfortable around her. We arranged for dinner together, sometimes for drinks and things never got awkward. But today when we were eating she fixed my hair and I felt weird. We are kinda touchy-feely,sometimes holding hands or so and I never have any problems with it. We joked about people mistake us as a couple and laugh out loud at this. We talked about guys too.
But what is this feeling? I don't know if I'm gay and that's why I never go further with a guy.
Does looking at naked women turn you on? Do you ever fantasize about women?
If so you are gay, or bi if men also turn you on. If not you're straight.

>Does looking at naked women turn you on?
I don't know if it's a turn on but I enjoy looking at them,of course only nice naked body.
>Do you ever fantasize about women?
Rarely before but recently I do thinking about what It feels being in a relationship with a girl. For your information I sometimes found myself digging lesbian porn.
>If so you are gay, or bi if men also turn you on. If not you're straight.
I dated a few guys,I also feel sexually attracted to them when I'm around them.
Is this situation kind of sleazy?
I'm getting drinks tonight with my current rommate's (and good friend for 4 years) ex-girlfriend. They were together for about 3 years prior and broke up about 4 months ago.
I know that when we lived together before their break up his ex and I had exchanged a lot of casual glances and I feel that we have some attraction to one another. If things get intimate, would it be sleazy to sleep with her?
Pic hopefully unrelated
Probably
>>17522799
The fact that you are asking us and not your roomie indicates it sort of is.
Were you friends with his ex before they dated?
The best way to figure it out is decide if getting laid is worth falling out with your roomie, or just ask him if it is a problem (it might all be water under the bridge for him).
Even if he does say it is ok, consider planning for an unexpected change of circumstances.
>>17522834
We were sort of friends prior to them getting together, she's the sister of a mutual friend.
I know that he has said that once they were done they would be done for good. I know for a fact that he doesn't want to get back with her and she says that she doesn't have feelings for him anymore.
Even if he doesn't care to be with her anymore, I know that he would hold that against me since that's the type of person he is.
Should I get this chair? I am in extreme need of a new chair. Going to post a few pictures of my current chair.

Why would you sink that much money into some "racing" chair?
>>17522782
Nigga that's my chair
Long story short, girl singer joined my band for a few months last year. Gave her gas money because we could only practice at my place and she drove 30 minutes every time. We weren't that great, but it was apparent everyone involved was excited with what progress we made.
Near the end of her time with us, she seemed to have fewer and fewer days available for practice. On her last day, I lent her a decent mic and vocal amp for independent practice.
After that, never got a text/call again. She used a fake name. I'm glad she left, because I learned to sing+play and now, almost a year later, we're a great band. However, I can't help but be a bit perplexed by the personal fallout.
Do people really join bands with the hope people give them gear? Was she dissatisfied with our music but too lame to speak up?
>>17522769
Nah forget about her, she's just a shit person, people are shit every now and then and you're going to come across your fair share and probably be one at times yourself.
>>17522769
My guess is that she probably was a bit of a scumbag or just wasn't that serious about the band.
My advice would be to make sure that the people you invite into your band are reliable and trustworthy. I had a bad experience with a singer last year, she needed a band for a party and promised she would pay us. She was frequently late to rehearsals, didn't pay for rehearsal space, didn't bother to learn the songs and to top it all off the money she promised us didn't even exist and we only found out on the evening of the gig, after we set up. In the end we packed up our equipment and ditched her just before we were due to go on. Haven't heard from her since.
Some people are just out to con you, sadly
>>17522774
Thanks. Solid, universal advice
>>17522790
Thanks. She came off as a little insecure, but wouldn't have thought she was a total turd. Was too busy writing tunes to notice she was probably unstable
Okay /adv/,
My girlfriend is being forced last minute to a different College than the one i have been planning to go to.
Its near my College but i was wondering if i should flip flop on the whole thing and just go to the College shes going to, even if i dont like the College itself as much as my choice.
>Weve been going out 1 year and im sure we want to spend the rest of our lives together.
>pic related, her.
People will tell you no, because it would make you a pussy, but if you're in love and she's a good girl and she won't cuck you, then you're better off than 97% of guys out there. So go on and be a pussy
>>17522707
Why are you asking strangers to make an important life decision for you? If you can't make up your own mind on what you want to do, then you are in no way mature to think that you've already met the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
>>17522707
>altering life choices for a talking vagina
The fact that you're going into college means it's a teenage relationship which has a ridiculously high failure rate to begin with, since neither of you know what you want to do with your lives. Don't be stupid.
I would like to improve my spoken english but I can't find any website or place where I can pratice.
Anyone can give me a website, game or anything else that may help me ?

Play games with voice chat.

>>17522658
watch good tv series, films in English. You could also play games and join some community/clan whatever they are called that have an English speaking base, best if they are native English speakers, just chat with them
You could also record and listen to yourself once in a while, to check if you feel any progression and such
