That's the hard part for me. I can talk to women just fine. I can create conversation if I need to (Although forcing it is somewhat difficult), but I never know the golden opportunity to ask for the number.

Yes, go for it. But an internship won't guarantee you a job later, keep that in mind.

I'd rather suggest you up the amount of applications you send out, for jobs AND internships. 7 applications in 6 months is very bad. For reference, when I was looking for a job after uni I sent out as many in half a week, or even in a day when I was really desperate.

Most people are taught to buy things they don't need because it keeps our economy going. It's a symptom of capatilism

I love shopping and buying shit, but I really hate receiving things I don't need as gifts. I currently rent a room in a house where I share the kitchen and other common rooms with four other young adults, all with our own shit. I rent a storage bin for all the stuff I can't fit in my room and my fair portion of common room space. I like a lot of the stuff I keep in my storage bin but I just don't have room for it all. I have to hold back on buying things I want if I don't have a place for them.

One Christmas my SO's family member gave me a waffle iron, and I got really pissed (inwardly-I didn't say or do anything). I didn't need a waffle iron, I didn't want a waffle iron, I don't have space for a waffle iron, it actually inconveniences my roommates for me to try to shove more kitchen appliances into our crowded kitchen, and I depend on public transport so going out of my way to donate heavy shit like waffle irons to some charity or thrift store is more trouble than it's worth.

I really hate getting free shit. I get all worked up every Christmas season because the (mostly family members) that buy me gifts refuse to not get me anything, and when I do ask them for things to safeguard against getting shit I really don't want, I try very hard to be very specific about things I genuinely do want or need and have carefully gauged I have space for, and 8/10 times I'd say these people miss the mark horribly and get me a rough approximation inspired by my request, which always turns out bad. Like I told a family member when they asked that I'd like a camping knife, and they got me a big cumbersome shovel that I did not need.

The worst part is that I end up feeling like an ungrateful prick, and I actually get told off for being insensitive because I just can't manage to not act less than thrilled when I get a big pile of crap that I have to deal with.

I'm really sorry for ranting, it's just that season again.
