I trained for three years when I was younger. I stopped when I got into college. Tae kwon do.

The important thing is that you don't go there to punch people. Most of the time you are doing exercises following the instructor instead of actually fighting.

Anything you become good at can give you "self-confidence". But if you are as angry as you describe, I really recommend against joining a dojo. As I said, it's about the discipline more than the fighting, but you can hurt people if you are not careful.

I'd recommend you talk to someone about the anger issues. Maybe do some training by yourself (running, swimming, etc.). Just pick something where you can't hurt anyone.

Try some drying powders like Monkey Butt and see if that helps.
