I see Magpul getting shit on in so many threads. Why /k/? Pretty much everything they make is great, with a few exceptions of course. But especially their furniture; I just don't get why it's supposed to be bad. Has anyone here personally had a magpul product fail on them?

They are babby's first tacticool brand but that doesn't mean their stuff is bad. Most of their products are reasonably priced and work well.
Since they are so prevalent now, gun hipsters try to find new ways to stick out from the crowd

M36 is the same thing but better.

With HVAP, the penetration goes even higher than the inaccurate APDS on the Achilles.

I'm moving to San Diego in a week and I can't find a good answer about the legality of my .22 H&R "Sportsman" 12-Shot revolver. I have heard about certain stores selling these in California, but it obviously exceeds 10 round capacity. Halp?

So I was watching this YouTube Vid about Shooting to kill.

It states that fifty percent of all plane kills by the American air force was done by one percent of the air force while the other fifty percent was done by the other 99 percent.

So why are so many soldiers so scared to shoot to kill and how can we change it

You gotta read on killing. Great book. What you have two do is twofold: create a stress response that is killing; i.e. train so that when your dude rolls into a room and sees a man with a fat he automatically blasts him. Second is dehumanizing the enemy. Making sure that the hajji, goat fuckers, sand niggers, dune coons, whatever are not people like us Gatorade swilling, burger eating, not-little-boy-raping, American freedom warriors.

The third is only partially related but it is to remove the responsibility of killing. There are several ways go accomplish this, the easiest two are through crew served weapons, such as an artillery piece or a tank or what have you, or through a higher authority figure such as an NCO or officer telling the soldier to shoot. All things the modern army is very good at. Being an all volunteer army helps too. Our shooting rate is very high in the modern army.
>>
In ww2 you had the masses of average line pilots who were just ok. They could fly welk enough but they werent the best. Then you have that 1 in 100 who is actually good. Maby a master at one facet of air to air combat Then you have that 1 in a thousand. That guy who dosnt so much fly the plane as wear it can snap deflection shoot and has an almost inate understanding of energy managment.

What does /k/ thinks about airguns? It is a viable option for a gun controlled region? It is strong enough to kill someone?

No. Any place that's vulnerable to the scourge that is gun control will end up controlling airguns too. For the children.

Nah, at that point you might as well make a muzzle loading pipe gun using homemade BP or crushed up match heads, then use that to acquire a real gun.

I bought this IP-4 rebreather on a whim awhile ago and I am looking for the chemical tank that you breath back and forth through. I figured someone here might have an idea where I could find a good quality one so I can get this baby fired up.

Asbestos was used in gas masks until the mid to late sixties.

This is a rebreather made in the ninties.

Asbestos will give you cancer if it gets in your lungs, what I'm looking for will liquify then set fire to your lungs if you breath it in.

>Markus Garlauskas, an intelligence officer for North Korea at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, made the remark in Seoul, four days after North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test.

>He said that North Korea could adapt to the international sanctions regime, but changes could come "quickly, unexpectedly."

>"We should also consider the possibility of multiple contingencies, one of which might lead to catastrophic failure of deterrence in a crisis," Garlauskas said at the sixth Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD).

http://www.chronicle.com/blogs/brainstorm/ten-serious-flaws-in-nuclear-deterrence-theory/32886

>As a former commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, General George Lee Butler was in charge of all U.S. nuclear weapons. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, General Butler critiqued nuclear deterrence, stating that it “suspended rational thinking in the Nuclear Age about the ultimate aim of national security: to ensure the survival of the nation.” He concluded that nuclear deterrence is “a slippery intellectual construct that translates very poorly into the real world of spontaneous crises, inexplicable motivations, incomplete intelligence and fragile human relationships.”

There seems to be a serious lack of confidence in the concept of nuclear deterrence. Is the construct of nuclear deterrence fundamentally flawed?

Many people find problems with deterrence. This is nothing new.

>Many people find problems with deterrence. This is nothing new.

It's not, but we previously have not been in a situation where a "rogue state" possesses advanced nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them. We've crossed outside of the realm of purely hypothetical situations.

Some friends and I are going on a S.T.AL.K.E.R.-ish short camping trip next spring on state land that's known to have bears and wolves. Basically, we're going to park, hike 5 miles to set up camp, hike 5 more miles the next day to camp among the ruins of a dead copper mining town, then repeat the trip back to the car.

I already have an AR in 5.56 and a 12 gauge pump shotgun, but both of my friends are nogunz and I'd like to have a firearm for everybody. Preferably something with a minimum capacity of 5 rounds for less than $500. I've already looked and it's legal to carry and target shoot on state land where we're going. What would /k/ buy?

If this was 09 I would buy all the fuckers mosin nagants
I wouldnt really bother for multiple reasons
>unless theyre paying dont buy some shit you'll never need
>I've done this before and you're never going to run into these animals if the group sticks together
>you dont want more than two gun armed people for multiple reasons, mainly being that the incidents of misfire or friendly fire are much bigger, especially since evey group has a fucktard or two
>if you absolutely MUST arm others focus on giving them smaller lighter arms so they can carry more gear.
>especially a snake gun or varmint gun
Spend your money on good equipment and supplies, having more than one gun on a camping trip me sound fun but its a huge pain in the ass
>>
Depends on what your budget is. I mean you really only have to buy one gun, and unless your literally the best friend ever and giving it to them, it'll be yours. Since you've already got an AR and a shotgun, might as well go for AK just to say you have one.

Me personally, money would be an issue so I'd probably go for a 10/22 or a high point carbine. You could also go and buy a pistol so you'd have a CC piece after your done. I personally like 1911s but Glock is fine and Smith's Glock knock offs and SD9ve series are good too.

Well considering it would be alphabet agencies doing the door to door raids and considering the people fighting back would mostly be veterans using civilian gear and military training in basically their back yards yeah I'd say the invading force would literally have it's shit pushed in assuming we don't start getting into air support/terrain advantages.

If we are talking about people like Cameron Hanes, absolutely. They literally run for 20 miles up the side of a mountain with a full pack on their back, chase down elk, shoot them, butcher them, and then pack them down the entire mountain. They have the abilities to do it.

Bubba with a shotgun and 6 pack of busch does not.

Exoskeletons with partial hard armor.
LSATs, suppressors, and Pikes.
Quadcopters.
Fused thermal/NV, now with HUDs (you know it will be practical eventually).

What most people aren't tracking is ESM. Bistatic-style radar (separate emitters and passive receivers) for counterbattery down to the small arms level. Plus instant geolocation of radios etc.

Elite soldiers will have power armor.
