/ic/ has ruined me. So much hentai has been ruined because they have no idea what anatomy is; I can barely fap anymore.
Then make your own hentai, anon, better hentai. Be the change you wan to see in the world

life's too short to fap to shitty porn

This.
In fact, 70% of my boner goes to great technique/rendering, the rest is the actual arousal towards the subject matter.
I walk around museums with a painful boner.
Im currently in the middle of deciding on a tablet, but its come down to an intuos medium $350 or a ugee hk1560 for $450. I want to be using it for quite a bit of time before upgrading to a cintiq. Now, is the intuos really that great? The ugee is only a hundred dollars more for a screen

I bought the 22in monoprice and it really good but i heard the xp-artist 22in is just as good too.
I had issues with my monoprice at first but since i bought it thru amazon they sent me replacements till i got one that i felt worked right.
wacom is not worth their prices.
>>2964991
oh I never even heard of monoprice, what kind of issues did you have at first?
>>2965004
it felt slightly laggy enough to bother and the screen got really hot. However the replacement they sent had none of those issues and i had it for around a year now.
why is my sketching accuracy so bad?
measuring like shit
symbol drawing
not having the slightest idea on color shapes and value
don't know why you're asking, it's painfully obvious
>>2967726
>symbol drawing
but bro I try so hard to get rid of that where do you see it?
It isn't, you just need to pay attention to the proper construction of the elements on her face like her nose or eyes.
Try practicng they alone for a while and then go for the final piece.

A while back we had a sinix vs vetyr thread and you guys unanimously chose sinix due to his diversity and many other things. I think this one is a bit more tricky. Share your thoughts. Who is better and why?
No shitposting, I'm looking forward to reading intelligent answers.

does it matter?
she is quitting art and going into engineering.
>>2967320
When did she say she will quit art?
>>2967326
when did she say she wasn't?
I'll post some of my paintings.
I'd like to know what you think.
>>2966713
I really like the concept of this, the smearing looks almost violent but there's no emotion in the part of the face that's recognizable.
Please give me your opinion
>>2965468
What am I supposed to feel? Guide me author
Its not about what you feel, its about what you see in this
>>2965496
Listen, I can see something in a streetlight through my window too. But this something can be anything triggered by what's happening in my head right now. Do you mean to say that your painting and a simple streetlight have the same expressive power? That you as a painter had no intention or intellectual motion behind this painting? That me feeling something irrelevant to what this painting can express means you have succeeded?
Can we compile a list of modern commonly occuring cringe factors?
I know somewhen in the late 90s "fantasy and scifi aesthetics" art "rules" were revamped through some unclear hivemind consensus but the "new" stuff is just as sucky and bland after 20 years of constant use.
I'll start with
>magically glowing stuff in general (eyes, orbs)
>power rangers armor padding
>>2956064
>giant pauldrons
>photobashed smoke and flame photos for magic
>chromatic aberration
>film grain
>guy with a stick standing in a big environment for scale
>flock of birds next to a giant
>animal or human skull over the crotch on fantasy design
>fantasy character with hands in fists or "cool" splayed claw grip
>abstract sci fi helmets based on one of like three generic designs
>>2956072
>guy with a stick standing in a big environment for scale
This one in particular grinds my gears
>overused cliches
as opposed to underused cliches?

Spotted the local city art store advertising yet another local artist. This time it's praising this particular artist's completion of a "30 sketches 30 days" project (1 sketch a day).
Out of curiosity (because I've lived in more than one town where a local art business promotes local artists with similar levels of skill) does /ic/ think this art is good? Do you have examples of good artists in your local galleries/area?

wow wat
Its like 50 - 50 ugly and great
>>2967788
It's 100 ugly and 0 great. It's got this very typically amateur "i'm l'arteeste" bored housewife look to it which is because she has zero grasp of fundies.
>>2967420
the fur on those cats and those faces are horrifying. Fucking no.
My first attempt at painting. Let me know your thoughts
>>2967385
I think that you will be know as one of the most important expressionists
>>2967403

The colouring is nice
Does anyone have an image guide for ballistic vests? I use an image reference, but it always looks off. One for firearms too would be appreciated.
Good luck with that
At what age is it ideal to start studying art?
>>2964344
30s when you have more experience in life
>>2964344
with 4 years under a good teacher if you want to make it
straight outta the womb
if you hit your second birthday and you're not painting at a rembrandt level you may as well just quit because you're ngmi
What's it called when you love drawing, and then suddenly the idea of ever drawing again makes you want to kill yourself?
Because I've felt that way for almost a year.
>>2964089
It's called being a drawcuck.

losing your passion
Are those DaVinci brushes I see? Can /ic/ get an AMA with Bush?
>Bush is making more art gains that you are
Fug
great, his mediocrity will echo through all of eternity because people want to own "part of history"
>mixes on the table instead of making his own tubes of paint
I just don't know about that man
I was down today because I saw that I barely improved in the last year but goddamn compared to this, i'm doing fantastic
No I will not post work
>>2962372
>No I will not post work
Then there is nothing more to talk about.
Goodbye!
>No i will not post work
Then why bother making this fucking thread, you pretentious runt? Have fun in your mediocrity.
>>2962372
>No I will not post work
ok, fuck off
