Any advices on how to color?
When I was little, I rarely ever coloured because I wasn't very fond of them, but now I want to.
I have never been to art school nor know how color theory work. If you had any recommendations or maybe know any YTber that talks about this topic, I would be happy to know. Thanks.
>>2960206
Do it however you want
>>2960206
use a palette generator like paletton and play around with the settings until you find something you like. If you dont know color theory and are shit at eyeballing this is the easiest way. Also don't use heavily saturated colors unless you know what youre doing.
>>2960665
This is actually a ver good advice. Thanks.
So here's the idea.
You post an image that fits the description/prompt of the previous poster and also post a new prompt.
Keep it art-related by posting what you'd usually post in an art/inspiration share thread. The prompt can be vague, so that it's up for interpretation.
I first wanted to make another 'post an image that has something in common with the one before' thread, but we already had those, and this way it's not a pure dump but also not bound by one specific theme.
Example for a prompt: a scene that is mostly in shadow.

Now I might post this and now want to see:
An image where one color is used to great effect.
>>2932362
Oh right,
>a good use of saturated colors
So do you guys discuss video editing and stuff as well?
I made this short glitchy/vhs music video (1:30) and i'd really like some feedback and stuff!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0spiJyAoOE
i've used Hitfilm4Express and it was recorded with an okay phone.
If you have to ask you should just lurk moar.
Also take this highschool cringe shit to /b/
>>2967620
Can't argue with that
>>2967608
We don't, /mu/ might suit this post better.
The glitch effects are really overdone, it looks pasted on.
Crop it to a 4:3 ratio, blur it, lower the color range (lower quality cameras) and adjust the colors. Just look at some older tapes likey Boney M or smth.
Although to be honest I wouldn't go through so much hussle for a singing that's so much out of tune.
Hi guys I was wondering if I can have some crit on this artwork I'm doing on a skateboard
I've been doing art seriously for 5 years
Seems to lack a consistency in keeping balanced and smetrical work, like the cheekbones don't match up if I were to draw a line from one side to the other. Are you aware of using guide lines and structure to help you? Michael Hampton is good place to start in terms of advance fundamentals especially with gesture and and muscle groups
Pls choose another career path, sonny boy
5 years? Thats it. That's the final straw. If anyone needs me I'll be hanging myself.
Work in progress.

Does anyone here use PoD sites like Redbubble, Zazzle, Or CafePress? Or used a site that has a preorder sort of system allowing you to raise funds for one bulk order? Or even etsy?
I'm thinking of getting into this for some passive income and figured it'd be a good thread regardless for experiences.
I asked the same question a week ago, but no replies
I did get an answer from the artust alley thread at cgl though
Redbubble seems to have the most traffic, you can set your own prizes, no starterfee for monthly income and offers a wide range of products
Society6 has a set prize but is the most common ( could be con since you have more competition or a pro because you have the specific audience)
I've been doing this for years. I've been making just enough passive money every month to cover all my living costs at the moment (I'm in the US). /ic/ is not the best place to ask for help, as the type of work that sells well on PoD sites is not the same type of work that /ic/ is into (fantasy/sci-fi/concept art). Regardless, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!
>>2959307
what kind of work sells the most on these sites? any tips?
Trying to find the name so I can buy a copy

Referse image search for higher resolution and sent it to some printing company.
These past 2 weeks i've just been going through the motions. I dunno... should I take a break or push through this?

What the hell happened with bengus?
looks like he just flat out stopped trying
Could you expand on this?
From what I can see the old one had an awkward perspective, same face and looked pretty low quality
In the new one all the characters show character, different shapes and sizes and the perspective is easier to look at
Compositionally the old one looks nicer, I think the new one looks more like a messy group photo
This is all my opinion and I'm not that great of an artist
What is it about it that ticks you off?
You're an idiot the new one has much more dynamic poses. Maybe you prefer the colours in the old one but the raw drawing is definitely better in the new one.
>Enough art books to rival any expensive school have been archived online by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. And best of all, it’s all available to download for free.
>Over 200 books have been added to the online catalogue, including works exploring the art of Kandinsky, Holzer, Lichtenstein, Picasso, Rothko, Flavin and many more. Books range from pop art to Aztec artifacts, gender performance in photography, Russian Constructivism and dualism championed by Italian artists, the constructive art of Swiss Hans Hinterreiter and youth art that defined the American 80s.
>The Guggenheim’s growing online library first came about when they published 65 pieces online in 2012. 205 titles, as Creators Project notes, now reside online, alongside 43 catalogues on the LA County Museum of Art’s Online Reading Room, 1,611 books on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s MetPublications and Getty Publications 281 virtual books.

That's nice but ... do they have anime books?
>>2967078
>Enough art books to rival any expensive school
What does this even mean? Most art schools don't even use a book.
>>2967078
all these books except the rubens one suck....
its all modern art garbage shit.
If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2962616
take a look at my god awful art style and give me your worst.
(this was a rough sketch of something i plan to do digitally, but its still a good representation of how bad my style is.)
for comparison and to see what it could look like when finished, take a look at this fucker (it's more anime-styled here, but the shading and coloring job would be the same for this and the rest of my art)
>>2964566
There are way too many things wrong. Just read the sticky, no one is going to do the exhausting job of listing every single little thing you fucked up.
