/fit/ I think I am fucking up everything because I can't control my spine.
I started out lifting a month ago. Was a fat nerd my entire life, became a skeleton once, then gained some weight. Now I'm somewhere around 25.5 BMI so I still need to lose some weight since about everything is fat with zero muscles. I have literally never done any strength training in my entire life, the only thing I ever did was swimming and cycling to slim down.
Now I've been doing some lifts following SL and I am starting to feel pain in my lower back for every lift. Thing is, my spine is completely fucked from an entire life of being a shut in PC playing faggot. Having zero muscle mass doesn't help either. So whenever I squat, my back gets rounded, which puts too much pressure on it. Deadlifts don't progress because I never like my form since whenever I go above something like 70kg, everything rounds to hell and back. Barbell rows are the "funniest", I can keep my upper back somewhat straight but my lower back always rounds. Can't do a slight arch for bench press either, I just can't control that fucker. Whenever I try to arch a bit it hurts like shit.
So my question is, what can I do to improve this? I feel like it is going to bite me in the ass sooner or later and I want to avoid injury if possible. I got a foam roller if that thing can help and looked up some yoga/pilates related exercises that should help but so far they don't really. I want to continue lifting but my back fucks me over.

This seems to be specifically to fix lower back injuries. Do the same things apply to actually fixing a rounded back and/or getting it more flexible? I am honestly not sure at all.
Whats /fit/'s opinion on lifting 5 gallon water jugs? I have no money for equipment and i won't go to the gym
>>41881311
If its all you can do, then do it.
Weight is weight, and the only difference is barbells and dumbells are designed ergonomically to make it more comfortable to move that weight.
If anything, jugs are great because you can alter the weight to your needs. You could even add sand or gravel to make them even heavier.
>>41881311
They are great for long farmer walks, but I personally find them a bit too bulky for regular dumbbell routines.
Don't you guys get tired of eating nothing but chicken, cottage cheese and eggs? How do I add some variety to my diet?
Seasonings, condiments. Different vegetables.
IIFYM some "bad" foods in there too, its not too hard.
fell for the iron pill meme did we? I did too for a couple months. Back to red meat and spergetti for my gains tho
>>41881019
>meat
Chicken breast or thighs
Eye of round or bottom round
Pork shoulder or tenderloin
Vegetables
Anything, they're fucking vegetables
Starches
see vegetables, but replace with any starch
Fish
Salmon, tuna (in can for protein, whole filet for omega fats), catfish, tilapia (for protein) and trout (protein and fats)
Are squats and deadlifts enough for a joocy manbooty?
How do I into carnage mode?
Should I exclude compounds and do only machines? Also what about the diet
You should never use machines period. They are for retards.

unfortunately, I don't think you are trolling.
have you ever been to a gym?
just get to 0% bodyfat
supervillains are made in the kitchen, not the gym
What are some good excuses to go outside and get a tan. I have an outdoors job but it requires I wear a shirt, I'd like to get some shirtless sun.
I live in a small town, all my old friends are derelicts and I've lost contact with them, the friends I do have are working or with their girlfriends. I'd go to the beach but going alone is fucking awkward.
Pls help. I need a tan but I'd feel really weird going outside and laying on a towel for sun gains, I have neighbors on both sides and no fence.
>>41880842
Lay on grass nude. Give no fucks.
>>41880842
I live in a uni town and just lay at outside of the law school in the grassy area. Outside of people driving by and looking, no one bothers me ever
>>41880842
Why is going to the beach alone awkward? It's relaxing as hell to just relax at the beach with nobody talking your ear off or kicking sand at you.
Also you can talk to qts.
Didn't see a stupid question thread
What's the consensus of deadlifting with weightlifting shoes?
I used powerlift 3, so the heel elevation is minimal (.6″) in comparison with other options but trying it today it just felt right
pic unrelated
Depends on you.
Some people feel better with it.
Personally I don't, I feel it shifts my center of gravity forward and it fucks with my lift.
Do what works for you brah.
>>41880754
Depends on your genetics/leverages at to whether they'll benefit you or not. For most guys weightlifting shoes work well, for guys like me i wear my weightlifting shoes (with a .8 heel) for everything else, but I put my chucks on for deadlifts as I find it more comfortable (long femurs, short torso average arm length), an inch might not sound like a lot but i just lift and feel more comfortable in my chucks.
Each to their own.
>>41880754
I like being flat footed, it puts my hips in a better position.
It doesn't really matter though.
Best type of progression for folks wanting gains, easy to modify like you can do 8/6/3 if more hypertropy goals
also best kind of template for natural lifters as volume isnt overkill
>shiit volume
>shit frequency
>shit progression
Sage goes in all fields
>>41880733
>shit frequency
what did he mean by this? did you even read it?
it has many variations of doing lifts multiple times per week
even 5x squat
inb4 its still shit volume and frequency for squats
>5kg
>shit progression for int
going from 200kg to 260kg squat in a year is a shit progression
okk

>Found the guy that eats like a child and expects massive gains regardless.
How to deal with such a low TDEE for cutting?
I'm currently at about 20% bodyfat and I'm trying to get to 10 but every time I break a barrier in weight I get a new one and now I can't lose weight on 1200 cals how far do I need to cut or how do I raise my TDEE?
>>41880595
I know the wiki says to subtract 500 cals to cut but is it really going to be safe for me to eat 700 cals worth of meals?
Either start fasting or do More cardio, my man.
>>41880595
There's no way your TDEE is that low at that weight.
You have messed up your calculations somewhere.
If you aren't losing weight at 1200kcal, then you are counting your calories incorrectly.
If you are 100% certain that you are, then you need to see a doctor because you probably have some kind of metabolic issues.
Anyway, you raise your TDEE by being more active. I weigh less than you and my TDEE is about 3500-4000kcal because of my job
Is it normal for protein powder to have a weird chemical taste on top of tasting awful?
This shit has great reviews and it's cheap at wal mart. The reviews say it tastes good...
Maybe I got a bad batch that has chlorine in it or something
try to stick to the simple flavors as choclate or vanilla, if you get peanut cookie cream or shit like that it tastes like chemicals try asking stuff like that in a QTDDTOT
I like Kaizen naturals protein. Chocolate is elder god tier and vanilla is god tier
>>41880580
use soy protein isolate from my protein(inb4 lol muhgyno).
If all else fails just use their pancake protein powder and NOT make pancakes with it, instead mix it with milk and you'll have some an amazing pancake drink.
Will lifting cure my depression and help me become passionate about things? I don't want to be forever uncaring about everything
nope.
but it will most likely help out.
check for test deficiency.
get therapy, meds, and exercise.
that'll do the trick.
No.
oh, and check your vitamin D levels.
>sweat smells like absolute death
>high forehead/balding pattern
>libido through the roof
>not a nigger or poo in the loo
>build strength and muscle at decent rate for a natty
am i high test?
Fucking elevens
>>41880383
>>high forehead/balding pattern
This has to do with the rate at which you convert test to DHT, not total test
>not a nigger or poo in the loo
niggers have higher test than whites
>build strength and muscle at decent rate for a natty
"decent"? doesn't mean anything
you're probably average test
>>41880383
No, you just have a high sensitivity to DHT.
Everyone has the bottom 3 characteristics you listed.
Is the long head of the triceps supposd to feel soft?
Or have I been neglecting them by only doing bench and OHP?
>>41880273
yes you are, i have the shittiest long head insertion ever, so since i've started focusing on it my arm grew considerably
>>41880273
No.
Mine is hard as fuck even without a pump.
With a pump its like rock.
>>41880273
All of your muscles should feel relatively soft when you touch them. They should only feel hard when they are flexed.
What shoes does /fit/ recommend for general gyming? I can't wear sketchers anymore, I just can't.
Converse, or whatever has a flat bottom tbqh senpai.
And while we're on the topic of footwear, how does /fit/ feel about lifting in their socks? I don't care what anyone else does at the gym, because why would you, but whenever I see it I think, "I wouldn't do that, my feet are sweaty and I wouldn't want to slip."
these for maximum squat depth
>>41880248
it depends, if the floor is wood planks then yeah you have a chance of slipping
if it's all rubber then no way you'll slip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4Xhct9E_sk
How is it possible to move this fast? How can one get more explosive? It baffles me to see a "dyel" 69kg boy throwing around a weight that some bigger guys use for deadlift sets.
No big guy deadlifts 315 outside of a warmup...
Also he's just pulling the bar up and then pulling himself underneath it
Just practise dude...
