What shoes should I buy for lifting? I've been doing squats and deads barefoot but it's not practical.
I don't want fancy lifting shoes. Lets say I walk into a payless what kind of shoes am I looking for that are decent for lifting?
If you don't want to buy lifting shoes, then just wear whatever you have but take them off for deads, squats and OHP. Why is it not practical to go barefoot or socks?

I'm 24 years old. I'm quite active physically. I eat well. My BMI is a healthy 23. But my blood pressure is apparently 140/100, which puts me at stage 2 hypertension. Wtf? How is this even possible? I don't feel stressed out. I'm currently doing ambulatory blood pressure monitoring with a pressure cuff, which is apparently very accurate.
Obviously I will be going to my doctor, but is this not odd? Has anyone else dealt with this?
It's not unusual, blood pressure absolutely has a genetic component. You know if it runs in your family? I run, swim, and lift regularly but my numbers are usually in the higher stages of prehypertension. You may want to consider taking medication. Low salt diets have been shown to help lower it.
