Casein protein is a lot more expensive than whey protein. It's cheaper to just eat eggs. Just boil 4 eggs before bed, eat two right away, and wake up at 2am to eat the other two.

I was tired of being an unhealthy bitch. I've cut a majority of junk food, started doing cardio and lifting, watching calories and carbs more, really reading and understanding the numbers. This was 2 months ago and I feel much better than I did, but I feel like I'm missing many vitamins and minerals because I don't eat as much as I used to. How are these vitamins for mens health?

Any personal trainers here with experience?
To someone starting out, what would you say in summary to prepare them as fast as possible?

A trainer after starting out its not a bad idea. I started out completely on my own and it took a very long time to learn everything I needed to know. However it also depends on your goal. The easier your goal the less you need a trainer. If you're ready to train for 4 or more days a week for at least an hour then its a good idea.

Firstly a trainer can quickly show you what muscles to target and how to do so. Then can show you a wide variety of exercises and you can pick which ones you prefer. This is pretty self-explanatory

Second and most important they can show you correct form. However this depends on the trainer. The trainers at the gym I go to do not teach correct form. It's more common then you think. Find a good trainer. Teaching lifting to myself gave me several injuries over the years. Exercises like squats and deadlifts should definitely be learned from someone rather then trial and error or a youtube video.

They can also clear any additional questions. No one better to ask questions /fit/ related then to someone who themself trains and is educated in just that.

Good luck and if you do get a trainer, keep reminding yourself that you are paying them to give you enough knowledge to function on your own. A lot of people will hire a trainer and never stop because they only do what the trainer tells them to do. They don't ask questions-they dont really learn anything.

I stared lifting probably around 5 years ago and I wouldn't say I exactly wasted the first few months- but I didn't have a good routine that really targeted everything I wanted. I made sweet noob gains, but I missed out on the joy of deadlifting for several months as an example.

So starting out I ended up taking the first 4-6 months trying to perfect a routine, learn all the lifts, etc. I watched people like Scott Herman initially since he had a dozen plus videos about form and routines.

But as far as finding a good PT- that's a crap shoot. I'd say find the most jacked one, be friendly, and ask him/her to give you their routine they use (even if its slightly modified for a beginner).

I'm training to join the military and could reasonably stand to lose 25 pounds of jiggly fat. I'm experiencing back aches when running. Mostly lower but sometimes mid to upper bacl.

Honestly, it's what kills my run. It forces me to stop before I get winded.

Any ideas on how to help this? Will it go away when I lose weight?

Your back pain is from your posture. Sit upright, dont lean forward, and walk with your shoulders pinched back together.

This is the only way to fix the problems you have describe. There are no shortcuts.

Back injury for a few years now, i'm not sure if the added weight is causing the back pain or my disk/sciatica still has an issue after a couple of years

I learned and know why I was injured but it sucks, my solution to the injury fucked me up more than the injury

So apparently I got golfer's elbow from a routine of chin ups I was doing and now it's so bad that I can barely open doors that have turning door knobs. Do compression sleeves work? Massaging has helped, but the pain still lingers. I want to try and find like a brace or a sleeve or something but don't want to waste money on gimmicky bullshit products. Anyone have any suggestions?

I used to have this same problem.

First is you can't just slap on some brace and it'll fix itself. You are doing something to your elbow that is causing this injury. You can permanently fix this with the help of physiotherapy.

However physiotherapy and the use of a brace is probably the best idea. Ill post the link at the bottom of this. To find other websites that sell it search up band it golfers elbow and make sure it looks like this one. It's the brace I felt the most comfortable in.

Do posture braces work?

I've wanted to buy one for a long time now because of my rounded shoulder but how much do they actually work? I sit long hour at work in front of a computer.

Of course I realize, you have to stretch your pecs, and train your back as well to help the process.
