As the escort follows the dropship. Over radar debriefings are played over the pilots huds. A overlay of a what looks to be a theme park in the middle of a hamlet, but with the lack of any rides. The robotic female voice of Editi plays over the small subtitles as parts of the overlay are ran past and focused on.

Editi: "Welcome pilots. It seems like you vacation of light duties is over for now. Another mission that command doesn't want to send troops to is your destination. Now this may not be a perfect aerial scan of the village, but I will use what scans we have as best we can. This is Shirley Village, Shirley Village before suitfall was a quaint hamlet with no real use outside of what crops it made.

Now it is one of the few cities with all it's inhabitants still alive, sane, and human. Scout stumbled onto the village and it has been looked into ever since. There are confirmed reports of TA, but they act so erratic that they don't seem to kill the villagers there. Only those that acts aggressive, tries to interact with the humans there, or don't follow their "laws" to the letter."

The map splits and zooms onto two areas. One being a odd castle that looks to be almost the size of the village itself, and the other of a small cave on the other side of the village.

"These two areas are the only marks of interest. The cave being a site of large amount of radio interference, comms jamming, and everything having to do with communications there. Even a suit scout reported headaches being nearby.

The other area is of the castle. We have reason to believe it is holding very few humans, to the point of it being something you are allowed to overlook it; but as you know, command only wants you to evac most of the civilians there. A liberation can be set for when there isn't innocents on location."

Editi's head herself pops onto your hud. "Well that's all the info we have and you'll most likely need. Command is giving you freedom to make sense of this odd situation. Just do what you do best, evac the civs, and come back in one piece. Good luck everyone."

At that her head just looks around. "Not much for optimizing your huds huh? To each their own."

There will also be a “take 10” system in effect for this mission. On non-stressful situations(if you can find them), you can automatically be 30 away from target, and roll a d20 to modify it closer to ‘target’. Taking 10 will make it easier to succeed in most cases(easy rolls will be pretty much impossible to fail even), but you cannot use it for dodging, attacking, while being attacked, or if the action would end up putting you through danger.

Basic actions (moving, communicating, observation) will all be success only, so basic actions will happen successfully almost always. There will be three major categories for non-basic actions, DEXY, COMBAT, and TECH. You can only perform ONE TYPE OF ADVANCED ACTION per turn. Rolling DEXY for dodge is NOT an 'advanced action' cost or use unless it is stated otherwise.

Basic actions include just moving around not caring about stealth, releasing out drones for activation, activating camouflage(not the stealth roll), using suit abilities such as bullrush or celerity, and reloading(Hah, who does that anymore...)

DEXY refers to actions such as melee or dodge rolls, and other checks towards maneuverability, agility, and so on. DEXY uses a 'closest to 1' roll on a D100.

COMBAT refers to the act of shooting ranged attacks (NOT melee attacks), plain and simple. COMBAT uses a 'closest to 100' roll on a D100.

TECH refers to anything else really, mostly it's using or fixing your suit's systems. Tech uses a 'closest to 50' roll on a D100.

So besides a highly respectable and classic magical realm, what is the draw of this? The characters would essentially be helpless, and it seems like restricting player action is what every other game tries to shy away from.
>>
So I've gone and done a very basic character sheet. Originally I wanted everything to be on a single page - half the page is character sheet, the other half rules. However as I started jotting things down the situation changed. At the moment I'm thinking of putting everything the player needs to know on the back of the page and two sheets at the front.

For those out of the loop, read the OP. We've already formed some form of a consensus on the classes, attributes and skills.

The classes are - Action Girl (as the name implies), Rich Girl (the charismatic face of the party), Scoop Snoop (Lois Lane) and Bookworm (as the name implies).

Five attributes, which are described on the sheet - as well as the skill system (basically haggled with the GM or Damsel Mistress, as it is called).

So far we've got to stat the classes, figure out if we're using a 2d6 or a 3d6 system and we need to make a DM sheet as well.

About the fetishes - after we're done we should make an "Extended Rules" page with adds additional rules for cloth destruction, tieing up, etc.

Oh, and we don't have a combat sytem. So far we've had two suggestions - a typical HP system or dames are knocked out when they fail a fortitude roll. We also talked about a system of intimidation, where the players would be encouraged to surrender if the guards see them, rather then instantly going into combat (and vice versa).

>Senpai you have a lot of errors and it looks like shit

It's quickly put together, I don't care about these stuff at the moment.

I think the idea is that whoever captures the damsel is too stupid to actually tie her up/secure the facility correctly.

There might be a magical shield over all outside doors, but the damsel is not tied and her door has a hidden key.

Interesting idea overall.

Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. Taking place in 284AC a year after the Rebellion has ended you are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy.

House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of a House fiercely loyal to the Targaryens and their attempts to live in this new world after Robert’s Rebellion. The new Lord Brynden Malroy is as well pre-genned but will take direction from the players in his ways and how he develops himself further. This Quest will be moderately more story driven than others of its kind, but the development of the House and her lands will take just as much importance.

If you’ve played the one of the many Quests within the ASoIaF setting the rules of the SIFRP system should be known. I will be using the Game of Thrones edition, as well as a few of the expansions namely OOSP and a few house rules which will be explained as we come to them. If you have questions about how things work or why certain actions are taken I can explain them as we go along. In truth this is a learning experience for me as well.

“Brynden? Are you well?” Wesley asks, keeping his stride short to you side as you wander towards the Tower of the Sun.

You were not, your mind hadn’t ceased since the day prior, Dontos’ confessions echoed in your head, you were certain of many things, and yet none. And each and every half truth ate at your heart, it kept your senses at bay, You only knew singular focus, you wanted answers. You did not care of whom, the King, the Queen, Jon Arryn, the Spider, Royce Redward at swordpoint, didn’t matter. But you needed to put on a face, there was things expected of you, people to meet, ands to shake, so you put on your front, a face cold as the grave, emerald eyes more telling of a coming storm than the glimmer jewel.

“Yes Wesley, I am fine,” you respond, allowing a guard to get the door for the two of you, “It’s only my leg, just distracted.”

Your cousin seems discontent with the answer, he knew something worse was at work, but was as in the dark as you felt. He smiles in his way and attempts to pull a better mood from you with small words and talks of the initial ongoings of the peace talks. Prince Doran and Lord Arryn had been getting along well enough, their moments at court the day prior had been well received. Words of Prince Oberyn’s lack of appearance alongside his brother had taken root as well, worry that such indicated he was far away from his brother’s position on the subject. You thought otherwise at the moment, he seemed certain these talks were nothing more than a stunt, preordained. And it was odd, what purpose did winding all of Dorne into a frenzy serve? Prince Doran could have prevented it with a single word but it was allowed to come to this. So many questions you did not know the answer to.
>>
Entering the private room you find Lady Giselle and Ser Grover waiting for yourself and Wesley, the latter looking annoyed by your tardiness, the former concerned by your limp.

Wesley and yourself bow, and you speak, “Ser Grover, Lady Giselle, my apologies for our lateness. I find myself taking a far longer time to travel about as of present, I hope you will forgive us.”

Ser Grover nods and his sister flushes with a blush as she speaks to you, “You are forgiven my Lord. We were told of your… Altercation. It is good to see you able to walk about at all still.”

Retracting your bow you seat yourself with a small degree of difficulty, Wesley helping you, before taking his own seat.

“A rather ill timed thing that Lord Malroy,” Grover adds after his sister is finished, a shooting glance of a look stopping his words partially.

“Hardly could have planned it better in truth,” you respond, “The Dornish have never been particular to my House, perhaps a long awaited karmic rebalance.”

“And yet they seem partial to you now my Lord, Lord Qorgyle and Ser Santagar seemed entertained by your words,” he responds.

“Simple introductions, our intentions are peace, no? Why not aid in such efforts,” you say, watching the servants bring in a simple lunch with a dornish flavor that you enjoyed quite thoroughly.

“Well thought my Lord. Ser Deron Dalt seems to be of the same mind,” Grover says, taking a cut from his meal and chewing it thoroughly, his sister shoots him another look, clearly unhappy with Ser Deron’s intentions.

If you remembered correctly Ser Deron was the Knight of Lemonwood, a widower with two young sons already. You were unsure if your word would change anything in this regard, undoubtedly the only thing that would change such were your own pursuits proper of the young Lady. Lord Arryn’s words echoed in your head, her worth was not in her House but of greater purpose. But still it left you unsure.
>>
You idle away the meal, allowing Ser Wesley and Grover to chat of martial things, of the Melee you would be holding soon. Ser Grover is of the opinion that a Joust would be more honorable, while your cousin insists the core skill at arms of a Knight is far more important than is ability to ride his horse with a long stick aimed at another. You can’t help to laugh at this assessment. Lady Giselle gathers your attentions with her small looks and you begin to make your own back, enough to gain small giggles from her leaving her brother seemingly unaware.

“Lord Malroy, may I ask you something?” she asks suddenly, her brother’s attentions turned elsewhere.

“Of course Lady Giselle.”

“Why did you leave for Essos? They tell of your stories while there, yet no one knows your purpose for leaving.”

Ser Grover’s eyes have made their way back to you, he seemed just as curious of the question as his sister. Wesley’s mouth is slightly ajar, you had told him the reason before, a rare thing, but since he had grown close to your son it was likely to come out regardless. But that was an exceedingly private thing for those who were not aware, Victus being a bastard, not so much, but Lysa… She was.

Question /tg/

why doesnt WOTC to get more profit just print out some old sought after cards, but also make it look like they're the original sets?

so they sell like 10 or so black lotus that probably cost them $5 to make for $100,000. that seems like a good deal.

>why doesnt WOTC to get more profit just print out some old sought after cards, but also make it look like they're the original sets?

Because that's killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

The black lotus being so expensive is like free advertisement. If anything, they'd rather buy up some of the black lotuses out there, so that the price of them would rise up.

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and you're royally pissed.

The Central 46, or possibly whoever is calling the shots for that organization, has just declared Kuchiki Rukia a wanted criminal. As a former Onmitsukidō commander, you know what that means better than most: if found guilty of a crime, the punishment is usually death or a prison sentence that may as well equate to death. Either way, it means they're now gunning specifically for one of your own subordinates.

“Well, I think this means we're past reasoning,” Yoruichi sighs, rubbing the back of her neck in thought. “Best case scenario is that this really is the Central 46's doing, and we all know how those old bastards are.”

“If they decide on something, it can't be wrong,” you agree. “That's how they rule.”

“We need to talk,” your wife insists, nodding in the direction of your barracks.

After a furtive glance at the First Division headquarters, you nod in agreement. “You have a point.”

The sprint to your quarters, which would take an ordinary shinigami hours or even days to make, passes in mere minutes. The sheer size of the Seireitei sometimes slips your mind with how quickly it passes by for you most of the time, but now that you take a moment to consider it you can see how it is that so many of the Divisions are so... divided. The distances between them are too great, and their organization promotes an insular attitude. You wonder idly if that was deliberate.

“So, what are the odds Rukia comes back on her own?” Yoruichi asks you, seating herself across a pile of cushions. “Slim to none, right?”

“You got it,” you sigh, sitting behind your desk. “She's as stubborn as her brother sometimes, it's easy to forget they're not related by blood.”

Yoruichi stretches lazily in place, searching for a more comfortable position. “So that means Central 46 sends someone after her in less than a day's time. Byakuya, I'd reckon.”

“Ichigo's not gonna like that,” you predict. “But he's not going to be able to beat Byakuya... he couldn't even beat Renji at full power the way he is now.”

“So he takes a dive to Byakuya,” Yoruichi continues building off your prediction. “Enter Kisuke, stage left, promising a training regimen.”

That sounds like something Urahara would do. He's already shown some interest in Ichigo, probably because of the unique circumstances surrounding his conception. “And he doesn't come alone. He brings backup: probably Ishida, Yasutora, and Arisawa.”

“They stand any chance in hell?” Yoruichi asks. “You've seen their potential first hand, or am I misreading the situation?”

You think hard about Tatsuki's reiatsu, her technique, and her overall degree of experience. You consider Ishida's youthful stubbornness, and likely degree of training in the Quincy arts received from his grandfather. Yasutora's size and spiritual power are a factor for consideration as well.

“Nope,” you conclude. “They're pretty much screwed if they come here.”

“That's not good at all,” Yoruichi groans, rolling onto her side. “But at the same time they're the ones who can act with no consideration of the potential consequences, while we have rules and responsibilities that limit our decisions.”

“What a pain.”

Last Time, on Feral Necromancer Quest: You fought the humans. This took the vast majority of the entire quest. You learned that while supported by Pern, the entity itself did not interfere with the battle, instead it had sent a spiritual construct to fight alongside the human army. You discovered and disabled the spirit, and had your own spiritual construct interfere with the spell-casting of the enemy force. After this point the battle kept dragging on, until you used your most powerful shamanistic ability, nearly destroying your lands in the process, or at least turning them into a barren wasteland. The battle ended in a desperate defensive melee, where you and your forces just barely came out on top through determination, stealth tactics and the timely arrival of your were-bear allies. Some three hundred humans fled into the forest as it became apparent that they could not defeat you. Their champion lays dead at your feet. And that is where the thirtieth installment of Feral Necromancer Quest concluded.

The Cast

Vlad Tepish: You, a necromancer and shaman of great skill on a quest for immortality. Your constant and insistent attempts at diplomacy with the neighboring tribes has made you a well-respected force in the area.

Bathory: Your lover and companion, brought back to life into an alchemical body. She is pregnant with your child. A skilled diplomat in her own right she brings stability and counsel to your company.

Lathrien: Your apprentice and the first vampire, he is getting better at controlling his new powers, which are substantial. The first to gain immortality among your party, he is stronger, faster and more charming than ever before.

Melandie: A huntress, a berserker, an elf. She is quick to anger and her rage is terrible, but she has learned to control her emotions better recently. The runeblade she wields still impacts her emotions, but it is unlikely to break her mind or kill her any longer.

Korg: Your orcish blackguard, he is bound to your will. He wields a great hammer and cares for few things more than to use it in battle. A creature of simple pleasures and sins he is a destructive force on the battlefield and a cunning creature in planning.

Halivean: Known to you as Hal, he is your desert elf blackguard. Fanatically loyal to you and with some basic skill in necromancy and tactics he is a vital lieutenant to your forces. His agility is exceptional and his skill with a blade and bow is significant, but where he shines is leading undead into battle.

Karist: Dwarven runesmith and elder.

Spot: Gnoll rogue and boss.

Vlad the Kobold: Kobold leader.

Amythrien: Elven craftsman and elder.

Sheila: Human elder from your village.

Group is considering an all wizard campaign when we wrap up our current one.

The gist will be something along the lines of "wizard-college drop outs decide to try adventuring as a means of avoiding student loans".

As such, we're all going to be young characters but I'm kinda lacking in art and ideas for characters. Some I had in mind were.
>summoner always ensures his eidoleons are busty avatars
>necromancer creates zombies to keep as company, dressing them
>transmuter tries to turn copper to platinum to help pay off loans

Any more ideas?

Because why would I waste valuable soldiers and workers when I have you disposable humans to do the work for me.
>>
Way I see it, the hive mind is endlessly hungry. The quicker they subvert a planet, the sooner they can move on to the next meal
>>
Because they're interested in biomass which is effectively energy for them. Time wasted fighitng longer battles than necessary is a loss of biomass through energy expenditure and collections of their own fallen nids. Having the defenses underminded so they can eat a planet in a day earlier with planing of a smaller force that can already be there well in advance of the fleet is a profit.

The best scenario they nids want is a world to willing throw themselves into the reclamation pools with all non mobile life carried in their arms but they'll never get there.

What could be the best setting for a skirmish wargame that you can imagine?

For me one of the best was Mordheim, a destroyed city filled with loot makes a nice arena for clashing small warbands bent on control of the richest places of the ruins.

But what about new settings? How about uncommon settings for skirmish wargames, that nobody has ever used but you think are cool ideas?

I'm talking mostly about fantasy skirmish, ancient/medieval style, but it could also be sci fi, modern, pre-historic or whatever the hell you like.

I'm asking because we're planning a campaign with some friends, and we'd love to use more or less generic rules in different settings and see how it goes from there. We could even turn the wargame into some sort of RPG mix and whatnot.

Pic somewhat related, how about an Island? Or maybe a lost colony? Adventurers seeking riches from lost galleons or colonies that were abandoned for mysterious reasons?

Frostgrave does the Mordheim lost city except... frozen. Mordheim itself had some expansions: Karak Azgal was an abandoned Dwarven city underground, Lustria was obviously a New World continent, Khemri was all about tomb-robbing in the desert.

Helldorado is literally set in Hell, which humanity invaded sometimes during the Crusades in that universe. I think Malifaux has something similar, with adventurers travelling into a nightmarish other realm for fun and profit.
>>
>>43541033
I also remember there was the Empire in Flames, which was obviously set in the Empire, like the outskirts and whatnot.

I think those are cool locations, but what about the settings behind them? What are the players? What's the motivation of the warbands?

Question

Who would win in a Naked, Cage-fight.

An average Space Marine or an Ork Boy?

Absolutely no fuckin question, the Ork'd win hands down.

In a naked fight? The marine. If we're talking an Ork BOY, at least. Bring in a Nob, and the Marine is going to get his asshole pulled out through his mouth. With just a boy, the edge in raw strength a boy might have is overcome by speed, skill, and bullshit like spitting acid.

We can all agree that Ebony Warrior doesn't have a place in lore; he's purely a game-specific challenge put by the developers to incite players to keep leveling up, right?

upon translating the scrolls in Morrowind, does the words "The ninth barrier cannot exist!" relates to Talos or is it just purely an inside joke like "Where's the money in that?"
