Is... Is that guy dead?
>>3034114
No, just very very drunk
Not bad for a $50 camera I guess
Hey /p/ I picked up a Nikon FE SLR at a Goodwill for about $10. Im new to film and want to dabble in it. Can you guys tell me about your experiences with film cameras?
great buy, OP, you got a good deal
I find film cameras a lot of fun. you should shoot black and white and develop it yourself. it's a lot of fun, and you just need a couple chemicals, a dev tank with reels, a thermometer, and some measuring glasses
>>3033770
Im thinking of doing that. Is it a hard process to do?
>>3033773
Black and white is stupid easy. Lots of high school Photo 1 or 2 classes teach it, and it requires the least amount of precision and attention when compared to other processes like C-41 or E-6 if you're a dev wizard.

Hey guys. i got a Canon FT ql from flea market with 50mm 1.2 lens. lens is great but there is a problem at my first test film. I did some research and found out my shutter is out of synchronization. People say at forums "you need a new CLA-CLA-CLA-CLA" so what the fuck is CLA ? and do u have any suggestions to solve the problem ?

Clean Lubricate Adjust.
Google is your friend
It will cost more than you paid for the camera.

Sell that 50mm f1.2 and get a working camera with a 50mm f1.4.

Nikon D3400 blows the D700 on DR.
D700 can't even go to ISO 100.
D700 still uses CF card.
D700 can't record movies.
D700 can't use AF-P.
And yet the D700 still sells for $700 on ebay.

full frame
'classic' camera, first-in-class, had insane momentum
It's an excellent camera, pretty much exactly the F100 in digital form. The D3400 beats older cameras on useless DxO metrics but it's a plastic toy with only one control wheel and shitty ergonomics. Buy whichever camera better fits your needs and seems like a better deal to you.

CF interface is better than SD and XQD
Hopefully there's someone here with aany hardware knowledge to discuss or confirm that
You have any ideas or examples of a simple system to retain a 4x5 film holder? Maybe some kind of spring clip system?
Pic: Second prototype of a 4x5 camera I'm building.
One of the first frames from the 4x5 camera prototype. I didn't quite hit the focus, but no vignetting or other problems as far as I can tell.
I like it

I've just found out I have a love for photography, but have a lot of questions.
How do I get started? Where can I find film without going online? What film is cheapest? How do I get good pictures? It's recommended a short distance range, will it look good for long distance shots? is film actually suppose to be kept in a fridge? Is there anything else I should know about Polaroids?
>>3031147
Impossible Project is the only source for film, the stuff is not cheap. Pretty much can only buy it online.

Bit of a newbie at this, but if I were to purchase Photoshop, would it be able to fix this photo?

Hello there /p/,
I know there is a film general thread, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with my first few rolls of 35mm and was hoping to get some critique. Feel welcome to really lay into me and know exactly how bad I am i.e. how to improve.
Things that come to mind: Think it’s time for me to move on from Superia, seems a bit off colour and un-sharp? // I probably messed up a few shots by hand holding 1/60// I believe that shooting at f/1,2 leaves me with nothing in focus (also apparently needed new glasses…)
Thanks in advance.

Anything about lenses, cameras, mounts, systems, buying, pricing, selling, etc. GOES IN HERE!
Do not open new threads for gear-related issues.
No pointless (brand) arguments and dick waving allowed! You have been warned! Just questions, answers, and advice.
If you see a gear related thread cluttering up the catalog direct them here
And don't forget, be polite!
Any reason not to buy a used battery grip over a new one?
>>3029383
just check to see if your batteries fit it before buying, maybe also see if it attaches to the camera properly and doesn't slide off if you fling it around
>>3029388

what did he mean by this?
Is it just me or does anyone else just open tabs for all the film threads and F5 them when they come here?

Time to ban the digicucks, especially moop. All they do when they're not posting trashy unresized photos with no thought to them is argue over gear.
Ban them all and make /p/ great again.

Quite many telescopes..
Something like a APS-C with a 600mm prime will also obviously do better with digital zoom or with TC. Possibly even a 500mm reflex will.
>>3029198
I should look for a telescope as an equivalent of p900 ?
Should I get one for taking nipslip shots at the beach?
Be honest /p/, is this the king of 35mm film cameras?
sure the Nikon F, F2, and F3HP are the undisputed kings of SLRs.
but the M3 is the king of 35mm

minimum shutter speed without star trails = 500 / (focal length x crop factor). Looks pretty good.
It's an awesome photo. Particularly for your first try. One thing to note is the white balance of the image. Its a bit hard with such contrasting WB's but you could try to make the sky black by increasing the Kelvin and reducing then applying a filter over the trees to reduce the Kelvin. If you are in the southern hemisphere i would recommend as well waiting for like 2 hours before sunrise to capture the milky way.
