for digital, how many megapixels is enought. i know that 16 is 4k so im guessing thats all i need
4K is 8 megapixels my man.
As for how many is enough? There is no limit. The more, the merrier. Megapixels are one thing, pixel pitch (how small the actual sensels/physical pixels are in real life) is another. There is a practical limit to pixel pitch, where you start getting rapidly diminishing returns because the sensor out-resolves the glass. I would also reckon that the physical limit is only around 200% smaller than today's smallest pixel pitch sensors, since you start getting pixels that are physically smaller than the wavelength of visible light (we're at 1300 nanometers, but red light is 700 nanometers). I could be wrong about that last part though because I'm an idiot college dropout artist and not a physicist, imaging scientist, or optical engineer.
>>3030741
no it makes sense, if you have pixels smaller than the wavelength of light then you would start seeing colourshifts when viewed at 1:1.
Anyone take series of photos and group them together? I just made my first, only two pictures, didn't think of the idea until after the fact

There was a dude who used to post on here with one of those half frame olympus pen's. I havent seen his stuff in a while though.
i watched a lecture given be Elliot Erwitt and I liked this idea a lot so next time i'm out shooting i will try to intentionally focus on a series of pictures

Ok so, stupid question here.
I've been always a fan of video editing and post production but recently because of my new job i've started to get interested in film and photography
I recently got a rebel t5i which was very affordable (200 usd) and would like to write a good script and take some shots.
Now, problem is, i don't have any experience on this (writting ideas or stories), i do have experience using cameras but not that much.
I don't know if this is just worth it at my age because i work with guys with the same age as me who literally started scripting and filming years ago and they have much more knowledge about composition, lights, etc.
Is it possible for a 23 year old man to become good at this with many many effort and hardwork?
Or is it worthless?

When I export out of Lightroom, these "lightlines" appear in the images and I don't know what's causing them. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows how to get rid of them, thanks!
The background moire? You sure that wasn't there before?
Try exporting in a larger file size, that could help. JPEG has a bit of a tendency to create this. But I think LR still doesn't support BPG or WEBP or FLIF plus wherever you publish might not accept these anyhow, right?
Using the noise reduction and sharpening liberally as some JPEG pre-processor of sorts could also could do the trick.

twp things you could try
1. export at the original resolution, or at an integer multiple
2. in your export settings, turn off "sharpen for...(print, screen, etc)"
let me know if this doesn't fix your problem. i'm interested in this, because lightroom shouldn't be making these artifacts.

I have noticed that a lot of these threads are people asking others to critisize their work. Any craft requires good assesment of one's own work.
>post a peice you shot and like
>Critique your ownn work for faults
>Then you can discuss criticism you receive from other people.
Here is mine
>The shot is under exposed
>I over estimated the capabilities of the sensor I was using. This makes horrible artifacting.

Hey anons, I'm new to Digital Shooting (!2 Years on Film) and I'm looking for a Program to edit my photos. Free is good, however it also has to Transform RAW files into JPEG. Took Me two Memory cards before I figured it out. Anyways share what you use and what you can suggest. Thanks in advance

Hi there,
I'm looking for a good lightweight camera strap for my 5dmk2, mostly for travelling, long walks, a bit of hiking, what would you suggest ?
I sweat quite a lot so something that don't heat up my neck too much would be great.
Also, i'm looking to buy a backpack mount aswell like the Peak design capture pro v2, is it any good ?

Hello /p/. I've just finished my first album and have a concept for an album cover that i wouldn't mind running past yall to see if its doable and any advice on how it could work.
Here is the concept
Its a side on wide profile shot of a shear cliff, a person (female) wearing a flowing dress of some kind tied to a chair and blind folded with their back to the cliff drop and the back two chair legs teetering on the edge. I'm standing in front of the her with my foot on the seat of the chair pushing them back over the edge of the cliff with my leg as the chair leans back about to fall so it seems unclear if im pushing it in the shot or holding the chair still in the shot. That is the basic concept.
I would probably like to do it on location instead of studio unless the photo shopping green screen is high level enough to make it work.
What does /p/ think about this concept? any pointers would be apreesh.
You don't save someone from falling with your foot.
Maybe your hands should be tied behind your back as well.
>>3026544
Let me get this straight....
You want to tie a girl to a chair and teeter her off the edge of a cliff?
Yeah, go for it, what could go wrong?
Also what city do you live in? I want to check the news over the next few days
Sup, I'm searching for the best low budget wide angle lens for my Nikon D7100 (DX).
I'm thinking about something mostly for landscape photos and >maybe< some indoors (small rooms).
Fisheyes are a no-no.
I was thinking about:
Tamron: 10-20mm
Sigma 10-20mm
Tokina: 11-16mm
or
Samyang 14mm
Nikkor 18-105 (it's the kit lens)
Any suggestions which one of those is the best? Or maybe you have other in mind?
Bought a sigma 10-20 for 240 and I absolutely love it. One of my favorite lenses honestly.
Tokina 11-16. Super sharp, f2.8, 77mm filter thread, excellent build. There's samples in the Sucralose Thread shot on a D7000 with that lens.
Opteka 6.5mm f/3.5 (re-branded samyang 8mm 3.5).
This lens produces a stereographic projection, so you obtain easily defishable images to create 180 degree rectilinear landscapes.
For the same price you have a real fisheye just for shits and giggles.
>160$ online
>Very sharp if you know how to handle apperture and focus manually
>Metallic body and mount
>Keeps contrast and flares under control like a boss without fancy coatings, very good lens design.
Also hyperfocal distance is 0.4m at f/8 so you can just leave it permanently like that.
Worth to buy this camera on 270 bucks??
Help me, i can decide in a camera :(
here is your help: kill yourself.
