Hello there /p/,
I know there is a film general thread, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with my first few rolls of 35mm and was hoping to get some critique. Feel welcome to really lay into me and know exactly how bad I am i.e. how to improve.
Things that come to mind: Think it’s time for me to move on from Superia, seems a bit off colour and un-sharp? // I probably messed up a few shots by hand holding 1/60// I believe that shooting at f/1,2 leaves me with nothing in focus (also apparently needed new glasses…)
Thanks in advance.

This one is really good.

I like most of them, to be honest, but mainly the reflections and the afternoon light.
The colours are the best part though, I'm not sure what you don't like about them.
Potato scans and missed focus are the reason they're not sharp, not the film. Superia is about as sharp as colour neg gets.
If these are really from 2014, you need to shoot more film, you fucking pussy.
>>3030087
well done
>>3030033
>first roll
1990 wants its film back.
these are basic as hell, but I guess you were going for film aesthetic
>>3030343
correct about scans and focus. stop down more. also underexposure messes up colors.
>>3030343
Sry for the late response, I figure Stockholm IP was banned for a while.
Thanks man.
I like all of them, that's why I shared. Have more, but mostly misses.
Yah, it's probably my bad focus.
I know I know, and I have been, a bit. 2016 just came with a lot of shit to do. But I'll try to shoot more.
>>3030379
So I should move on to a newer film?
>>3030419
Ye anon, I was.
Thank you for the info.
I'm working on that.
These pics are cool. Is it because of film or you're not so newbie as you told us?
>>3030839
Thx. Newbie, march 13th was my first time I made that shutter sing.
>>3030857
Your photos are really nice, just keep shooting and post some from time to time.

2014 that is

Bamp
I'll just make the general comment of:
Taking pictures of something on film doesn't make the image better. Don't shoot a photo and hope that the film will make it an interesting image. If you're coming from digital think to yourself, 'would I bother taking this photo on my digital camera?' If the answer is no, the photo isn't worth taking...regardless of the 'film aesthetic'.
I wouldn't move on to another film. Superia is a fine film no matter how long you've been shooting.

Thanks,
I really don't feel like I've posted any "non-interesting" pictures though... at least in my opinion.
For me it’s mostly the colors and feel to film that drew me in. That and the fact that I get better image quality from film (cheap t3i)

See your point. Thinking about getting some FemAnons to model...
i really like these. maybe because i miss my hometown

I'll give a more in depth critique later. For now I'll say that the following shots are completely uninteresting to me. All have a combination of boring subject matter (at least in the way you chose to compose) and/or poor composition.

I'd appreciate that.
Thank you, I see your point. I do think it's hard for me to find interesting subjects.
Good to know. I guess I do shoot when it feels interesting, but maybe spend too little time on thinking about other composition possibilities. If you have any chance to link better composition examples I’d be immensely thankful.
