Cars need keys.
What's your key set up like?
Have any keyring recommendations and stuff?
All I have is a ring with my car key and house keys, although I do want one of these eventually for maximum dadrocking.

Would you let someone get high while working on your car?

no, but id get high and work on my own car

how did you find this?

I honestly can't remember the last time I did any work on my car sober short of changing a brake light.
At least 75% of the time

I walk to my workplace...
Its decent but driving to uni is sometimes shite because people are incapable of driving in a parking structure in a fluid manner
/o/
This morning I tried to start my car, initially the key would not turn. When the key did turn, the car wouldn't start. I kept trying and eventually it started but immediately died again. It did this a couple of times.
Any guesses as to what it might be? My initial thoughts are it might be something to do with the choke valve? I have my battery on charge and am going to try again in an hour.
Pic related: it is my car (07 Lancer), if it makes any difference.

What's up /o/, I'll be in the market for a performance car soon and I need your help. I'm looking for a car that I can put 10k miles on per year (I don't need practicality at all, only reasonable reliability). The other criteria is that I need to be able to beat a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 with 610 AWHP in a 60-130 pull (yes I know how this sounds, but I swear it's not a shitpost and there's a story behind this). I'm trying to stay under $70,000 after all mods. The two cars I've come to are the C7 (possibly C6 if I feel that the upgrade isn't worth it) with a supercharger and heads/cam, which should make close to 650 RWHP, and a 997 911 Turbo, but I'm not sure if a 911 Turbo can pull on an LP640. Are there any mods other than a tune that can help the 911 out? Also, I'm really open to other suggestions, those are just the two cars that I've been able to narrow it down to. Thanks br/o/s, I know the post sounds pretty retarded but help me out here.
You're better off with the corvette. Tuning porsches is expensive, and wound tighter from the factory than the corvette. The corvette will wreck a murci with reasonable mods.
Assuming u are not a troll, that merci is going to be tough to beat at 60-130. That trash is a v12 that revs to the moon. If you want to beat it, it can be done with a c7 and twin turbos. Easily make 1000hp but you WILL need drag radials to hook and beat it. That trash will never hook with street tires.
Option 2 would a awd v10 Gallardo and twin turbo it. More pricey though but that engine can handle stupid amounts of power if you build it. I'm talking like 1500-2000hp stupid.
Look into the C6 z06. Stock they had close to the hp numbers you want. Also, they look way better in person than in pictures

Do seppos remember this?
Have any americans put a LS1 in this like it was meant to have?
I heard the engine is a huge turd and you never put the 3800 or LS in it like we did here in aus.

I remember the catera from the late 90s-early 2000s (IT'S THE CADDY THAT ZIGS)
It was a failure because it was a piece of shit. They are impossible to find anywhere because none of them lasted long enough to even bother with a cult following. They are about as rare as old Peugeots in the USA. They remind me of the Jaguar X-Type as far as poorly executed luxury cars go

Expensive, looks imposing as fuck. Superior to Bentley.
Would love to be driven around in one.
Fucking beautiful cars, reckon I'll get a Ghost for my first one, dark blue with white leather interior.
This motor is in a slightly modified 1990 integra. Can anyone tell me if it is stock or no? Also, is it VTEC?

Thanks man. Good platform to tune? Also, they yanked out the power steering pump. Is this common for old hondas?
IIRC a tire's maximum peak force implies that it needs to have a little bit of a slip. Barely existant, a drift in a light way can "supposedly" increase the lateral force of a tire compared to the same tire at the same speed with full grip for about 5% or 10% increase. This number was much bigger in older tires, which some people say that's why old race car drivers drifted their cars in the exits.
If this is correct, its also the reason why it was explained GodHand beat takumi in a "its not drifting but not griping either" way. Using a VERY faint drift to increase the lateral force the tire could sustain with no lose of grip or forward grip. Of course, this could slightly increase tirewear.
Is it true that if it gets past that point you start hearing the screech? that if you are driving in a perfect circle in a certain speed, the optimal lateral force is the angle RIGHT BEFORE the screen starts to be heard in at least a tire?
>>16616877
too longy didn't readest post i've seen all day
I think so.
Look at the top gear reasonably-priced car lap times. The most "boring" are usually the fastest.
But in high performance cars with low pro tires like 30 series there is such little deflection the faint drift technique doesn't work.
>>16616920
Yeah i think with F1 tires the peak lateral force of slip its like well under 5% and that's why they dont try to drift jack shit anymore.
But what i really wanted to know was if the screen appeared right after you went past the peak point. As a way to notice when you turn the tires too much or you are giving the rear too much gas.
I recall in a /r/eddit post that the screech appeared due to something about the air between the tires and the ground doing something weird, and i just wanted to confirm that.
Can anyone explain to me how these fags work, and where do they spend all their money?
Like they have high production value, they have sponsors, they get freebies left and right, they have rented space, a tow truck, they fly to other countries all the time, and they can afford to buy random cars and do work on them all the time.
But all their tools are garbage.
Fucking Harbor Freight tier shit. Their power tools are low end shit tier tools.
Explain this shit
>>16616697
They are sponsored by supercheap so they use tools sold at supercheap
Just goes to show, you don't need fancy tools to do a job.
These faggots need to get better music than the shitty electronic background music the use. You hear me Moog, you sonva bich. I know ur here. And tell Marty to lower his eyebrows once in a while. He looks like he's in a constant state of surprise all the time.
Collectively, will they BTFO ze Germans?

If you had to choose between a WRX and a FiST as your fun daily/weekend SCCA rallycrosser, which would it be and why?
>>16616534
The WRX.
The FiST is a very competitive car, but comes with a little large of a wheel size to be nationally competitive in Stock Front (regional events don't give a shit) and isn't the most reliable. Some guy who runs in Rally America runs a stock one in WOR region and broke an axle last time I went, and on occasion bumpers and wheel well liners fly.
WRXes usually tend to break less shit. Honestly, as long as you account for good tires and a suspension that won't shit itself, you'll be fine.
The downside is that half the field is a WRX, but at least you have some people to be competitive with.
/k/ here. Looking to buy a new truck.
I currently own an F-150 Lariat with 260k miles on it. Trade in value $3k.
>make $41k a year between two jobs.
>will get an increase to $46k in about a year.
>possibly into the $50k range.
>have no student loan payments
>have no insurance payments (yes I have insurance)
>have no house/rent/utilities payments
>have no food expenses
I literally only save my money or spend a bit here and there on my hobbies. My only current truck expense is gas ($400 a month). No major repairs required so far.
I was going to buy a used F-250 with low miles for $35k. But I looked at new ones today (in person) and found that my ideal work truck (F-250 XLT) with everything I want on it is only $51k new.
My options are:
>buy exact new truck I want for 51k or less depending on negotiations
>buy nicer used truck (Lariat/King Ranch/Platinum) for same price
>buy used XLT that isn't exactly what I want for 15k less like original plan
I plan on getting a winch/toolbox/brush guard for it cause I use my truck for off-road on sand/mud/trails and for farm use. I need to tow boats, tractors, trailers so I need a 250. With that in mind is a used truck better for off-road and farm use? It's not everyday use but often enough that I need it in my truck. I also carry shit in my bed a lot like kayaks, farm equipment, ect...
So /o/, which one should I buy. My dream truck, a used comfort truck, or a used working truck? Will I be paying the same in gas for a new 250 as I'm paying for my older 150? Will a new truck require less maintenance?
>>16616512
If you ok knowing that you are gonna fuck up the truck using it for truck stuff and you wanna be the first person to fart in it. Sure buy a new one.
dont buy a new truck if you plan on going offroading, new trucks are for cruising with your gf
you dont want to be that guy who buys a $50,000 truck and wrecks it in a month
The new Duramax is badass, but damn they are expensive.
Any of ya'll come across this issue before?
