What do you think about sleepers?

I fucking love sleepers.

On my way home today I walked past this guy in a last-gen caprice sitting in a parking lot, and it was the worst looking thing ever.
That sort of not-quite-cream-not-quite-white color with the ugly-ass maroon pinstripes, the REALLY ugly almost solid stock rims, just a chevy badge and a caprice badge, nothing about the model; fucking thing looked like if someone's artsy grandma had designed a fleet car.
Now, the lack of model designation, the cleanliness, and the fact that the driver looked like someone who would drive either a lifetd truck or a turdgen made me pause and do a double take.
It was a de-badged SS on brand-new, unbranded street tires with a VERY well muffled, stroked V-8 with a bit of turbo whine.
Fucker probably does sub-14 quarter miles, and you wouldn't hardly know it unless you looked under the hood.
Just kind of a related story I'm posting for no reason.
What is with the meme these look ugly? I think they look great
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT ROUND AND THE ENGINE IS COOLED BY WATER REEEEEE
2 reasons
its turbo
its not stock
stock non turbo really arent pretty
and you have to consider the interior. which is GM bad
nice boxster m'lady
Be careful of the forces behind the push for them.
>Each year the UK only produces 5% excess power
>If the lefties are successful in their push to ban nuclear, ban coal AND push electric cars, energy consumption is going to skyrocket and demand will be unable to keep up
>This is intentional, they want society to literally collapse by any means possible so they can install communist ideology after the fact.
This is literally how they've done it in several commie states. They orchestrate a downfall and take over.
This time, they are trying to make energy consumption go up and energy production go down.
All in order to fuel more chaos. Chaos they will be prepared for and ready to manipulate the population to install communism.
I actually think electric cars are awesome, they offer great torque and are nice and quiet which is fantastic for economy cars.
But we need to be future-proofing ourselves to set the powergrid up to make this a reality.
And i also think the hybrid route is the best bet for the time inbetween.
~Sincerely, an electric fan who does not want to see the ICE banned.

>This is intentional, they want society to literally collapse by any means possible so they can install communist ideology after the fact.
False.
This is a way to make europe dependant on foreign forces to import electricity.
Jury is still out on whether that will be China, Russia or a complete globalist plot to turn Morocco into a powerhouse using its desert to product power for everyone.
>>16607408
I'm saying that commies push this, because they want to take advantage of it.
Obviously other forces have their own agendas behind the push for electric cars and it's not really about muh global warming.
I think the tech is great, but it obviously still needs work. It's very interesting stuff though, i love the idea of a whisper quiet luxury sedan.

I'd say at least twice a year.
Never?

Once we break free of the straight line philosophy, its obvious why BMW reigns supreme.
Lets put this thing to rest once and for all.
>slower than a Corolla
I agree OP but JDM/Benz/Audi fanboys hate to admit that BMWs are the best handling/most fun saloons. Literally the only German brand besides Porsche worth spending your hard earned money on.
Sucks to be them

ITT: Generally retarded or shitty cars.
>5.0 V10 TDI Toureg
>330bhp, 15mpg
>simple maintenance like an alternator change requires the engine to be taken out
>10+ hours labour just to take the engine in and out
>many reports of the engines blowing up at less than 50k miles
It was meant to be a middle of the market family run about and they put a fucking V10 engine in it with ludicrously expensive maintenance.
>5 liter V10
>middle market family run about
Are you getting paid to act retarded? If you didn't want the V10 you could simply order it with a V6 or V8 petrol or an I5 or V6 diesel.
>>16607091
>V10 in a sorority girl car.
"Guys the sale at the mall ends in 15 min!" -driver
"Hold on. I got this" - touregggggg
Then it breaks down on the highway and she trades it in the next day with 13,000 miles on it for a 12' Denali
ugliest car of the decade
Slammed my shitbox into a telephone pole today going sideways. Given the damages and mileage if it's over 2k to repair I'm just going to buy another car even though this one still drives perfectly fine, just the rear bumper is fucked up.
I have a V6 accord and I'm looking at older V6 accord hybrids in the 7th gen, unlike Toyota hybrids it seems the Honda one can run when the electric system dies as a regular V6 without hybrid benefits.
I'm delivering pizza but I want a more powerful car than the 200hp V6 I had and there's a 2005 hybrid V6 near me with 100k mi for $6000 in perfect condition inside and out. The hybrid system combined with the V6 adds up to over 300lb-ft torque when at high rpm so everything seems perfect.
Replacing the battery pack is only about $1600 if it's old and no good. I spent $4500 on gas last year and do mainly city driving. Is this the best or best choice?
>>16607070
How'd you crash?
>>16607070
Lol just buy prius
>>16607097
I was angry at everybody driving half the speed limit because snow, went sideways trying to brake on an exit after almost missing because fog and clipped the pole. Basically roadrage because I stopped smoking weed. the rear of my car looks like pic related's vagina when I was done with her
>>16607104
but a prius doesn't have a v6 or anything fun about it at all
So what cars will they review in the UK?
I assume it'll be a parade of sub2L cuckboxes

should be fine
Looking for a car for the wife. Her first car so she'll probably crash it. Want something safe but don't want to spend a lot of money.
I was thinking maybe a Volvo. They're pretty nice cars and do well in crash tests, and you can get a good one for 4k.
Here is one on CL: http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/cto/5951230557.html
Also thought maybe a Subaru Legacy. The 2006 plus have excellent safety stats but will cost more like 8k.
What else? Prefer a sedan, under 6k. 4wd a bonus. Thanks /o/
saabs are built like tanks iirc, look up crash tests on youtube
>>16606964
Yeah I thought about Saab too. I think the best ones they made are pretty old now and I don't know how easy it is to get parts any more.
http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/cto/5980695156.html
This looks pretty good.
What went wrong?
Stock hatchbacks with 300hp+
Meanwhile the WRX is still making the same power it did a decade ago.
Stopped competing in WRC and forced out of WRC competition by smaller cars and coasted on past successes while making them heavier and softer and more expensive.
Say what you will about Mitsubishi, they at least stayed true to the Lancers roots, a homologated special, a race car for the street. Even after they ran out of money to go racing.
>>16606880
Shame that only the UK got the 350~440 HP Evo X, while North America was left with just the 290 HP models.
I drove a 2016 base-trim Lancer rental, and it was a poor experience. Interior was as bad as a 2005 Corolla with cheap plastic everywhere.
What is the general consensus on dipping a car? Do people think it looks cheap or ghetto
Only from less than ten feet away.
The only one i've seen was a matte black golf
Owner murdered out everything but the badges
I think it can look pretty cool if done properly, especially in their more outlandish colors
a wrapped base model in some flashy color with no bodykit or a high ride height looks pretty shit
Genre: Hidden Camera/Prank
Synopsis: I go to different dealerships acting interested in a car and fool around with the salesman
So for one video I can just say the words, "No I want a better deal" until they get security to throw me out. Another video, I can object to a dealer for like 30 minutes - hour and at the end say, "I need to return some video tapes" and leave. Another one, I can say, "I want to see your manager" and then switch positions with someone hiding in the room.

get a mate who works at a dealer to wear a sekrit camera so he can put up clips of weird people/cars much like Long Post Guys

What's the best JDM car from the 90s I can get for a reasonable price and not have to worry about that shit breaking down or have parts fail on me?
>>16606496
Civic for $3k.
Dodge Stealth
Civic
2004 Saab 9-5
Are these good cars? What's considered high mileage for these? Are they reliable or total shit?
Looking at one with 183k
Asking $1800

pic related?
Pretty garbage imo. The old saab 900s were good but the 9-5s are trying too hard to be luxury. Lots of bells and whistles that break easily with expensive fixes.
>>16606174
2004-2005 are probably the best years for the car. I have a manual 9-5 Aero and it's a lot of fun.
>>16606213
what bells and whistles? There isn't much complicated going on in these cars. Most expensive thing is the DIC and you can get an oem one for about 400 dollars.
