What would be a cheap, effective way of making my van look a little better?
I was thinking a couple of decals or maybe some strips or some shit. I prefer it to look old school, like a 70s or 80s van.
I don't have the money to get a paint job done or anything.
Thank you very much.
>>16624737
leave it be
It's a fucking van
There's nothing that has made vans unique throughout the generations other than maybe paintjobs. If you really want a retro van, just buy on old 80s Econoline for a grand.
>>16624737
I'd say lower it but that may be against sharia law in your country
Which is the better car?
>>16624679
For performance 918, for killing your self Carrera GT
918
not even a fair comparison
Carerra doesnt have a single edge
>>16624679
Objectively? 918, easily.
Subjectively I'd still take the CGT.
Alright /o/, ready for this?
What potential engine problems could I be dealing with? A few years ago my brother took my dad's 1984 truck through a river, it apparently died, he got pulled out and started it again
So now it actually still runs, but it chugs white smoke out like no tomorrow.
I can't tell you about lack of power because I haven't really ran it in a while.
If I get this fixed its mine to take /out/, what potential problems could it be suffering?
white smoke = water in cylinders.
check the oil cap for white mayo-like residue. if this is present, there's water in the oil.
if there's no mayo, check all the intake pipework for water. if there's no water just try idling it for ages to see if it improves.
if the smoke doesn't clear, it's your head gasket.
>>16624616
if you've had it parked since it got flooded, you can bet on the cylinders being rusted to shit. check if the engine turns before trying to fire it up as the pistons may have seized. even so, you'll probs have to skim the head and all of the cylinders, buy new pistons, rebuild the bottom end with new bearings etc
>>16624634
>>16624616
They've run it to move it around probably four different occasions, so the engine runs
I'll check oil in ten minutes
Baby boomers, some had some nice cars in there days, pretty much all have modern pickup trucks these day, and I think that says a lot. They sure get bashed on here, but man, have you driven one lately? Old boss, who is a car collector, has a Oldsmobile 442 in the garage, and all kinds of GM's and Mopar's over the years, rocks new GMC Sierra. After driving my brother's Ram with the 5.7L, lifted, with 4.10 gears... holy shit it's fast, despite being so big and heavy, and turning big ass tires. Comfy as fuck, and the weight, well I honestly think the weight keeps the truck planted better. You can take turns WAY faster than you would think you can. Brother also pulls a toy hauler and camping gear in the fall/winter, and a boat in the summer. Pickups are the ultimate vehicle to own.
Really though, a modern pony car costs a whole lot, and isn't a versatile vehicle. The Japanese sporty cars, cheaper and more versatile, provide barely any more excitement than econoboxes. But trucks these days can be had in mid $20k, and have 380+ hp, and THROW YOU back in the seat on launch. maintain 75 mph at basically idle RPM, and can go off road on simple trails no problem. Fuel economy isn't that bad anymore. Why all the hate from car enthusiasts?
and the aesthetics

What's up with boomers and their obsession with 60s Camaros?

Good tire recommendations for my econobox?
Trying to improve my driving experience.

Is the Lotus Elise underrated in this board?
Its girly and Im too tall for it
Here's my waifu next to one.
Yeah, reliable engine. Reliable transmission. Reliable drive train. But it's the British electronic shit that kills them. They keep their value cause it's exotic. But owning/ maintaining a $25,000 Lotus is very different than owning/maintaining a $25,000 Corvette.... which is diff. than a $25,000 WRX or Civic Si.
>>16624427
yeah definitely girly. Waifu liked it a lot. I think there's just expensive Miata's. I like POWERRRR. I tend to get myself in trouble with taking corners fast. Not my fault or vehicles fault.
Now if I were to track a car, ok Lotus would be nice. But for even a weekend car... Lotus would be a bad choice, unless you have a garage full of other cars to mix it up with.
should i buy this datsun 280zx for $2200 aud (negotiable)?
How much can i expect to spend to restore it (first project) assuming i want either original looking stuff or tricked to the devil z level?

Looking for a good econobox for commute on highway.
This one seems good or not? Coupe is fine since I don't have friends
mirage is the only econobox worth a damn
If you don't care about new/used get a geo. The mirage is basically a brand new geo
either way you are saving a shit ton of money... enough to buy a project car you can drive on the weekends
>>16624289
get a civic for 3k or an actual good car with your 15-20k
>>16624452
This.
Why are Lamborghini Gallardos so cheap? These retailed for over $200k brand new, now you can get one for as low as $50k.
Because its an exotic car that will have expensive as shit repair bills.
>It is Lamborghini's best-selling model with 14,022 being built throughout its lifetime.[7]
Too many made. Fourteen thousand is shovelware tier for supercar standards.
>>16624280
this.
S-Class is the same shit.
>MSRP of 100k+
>Used sub 30k
Oil change alone from a high end luxury manufacturer costs $200+. And the faster you go, the more wear n tear, the higher the repair bill.
What's the deal with the fat annoying fag from the Vehicle Virgins channel kicking out the gook with the bad hairline?

There was probably a falling out behind the scenes. The reality is that despite Parker being an annoying faggot, he is able to consistently put out good content on his own. I suspect he was carrying the channel more so than Eddie was. However, Eddie has a far better personality.
So who knows. Fuck them both. Parker is a faggot.
>hurr durr my billionaire dad has nothing to do with my success. you see how i had to turn $500 million into $501 million?
id rather watch the thradman any day of the week
Parker is a greedy jew that fell for the YouTube meme and wants to stick to click bait vlogs and unnecessarily long 10+ minute videos for extra revenue. Nissan prefers short, to the point but well produced reviews.

About a week ago you all helped me with an issue for my 2003 Chevy Malibu V6 3.1L sedan (Lock Cylinder wouldn't move from OFF to any other position). With your help I was able to diagnose what was wrong and look for solutions.
Now I am calling for your help again.
Problem: Car is having trouble up shifting/speedometer needle is bouncing wildly up and down and/or not moving at all.
Details: Today as I was driving I noticed my speedometer needle bouncing up and down (between 10 and 30mph); after about 10 seconds of that I felt the car act "jerky" as if it wanted to shift up but could not. I had pulled over, put it P and let it cool down for a bit. After cooling down for about 5 minutes, I shifted in D and attempted to drive again. Immediately the needle began bouncing and couldn't upshift. So I shifted the car into 3 and the same problem was happening. I then moved it into 2 and thankfully it was able to upshift. At this point my RPM gauge was riding on 2000 rpms and my speedometer needle wasn't working at all (it was completely flat). I was able to limp the car home, and when I attempted to shift the car from 2 to R, I heard and felt a hard clanky sound; when I backed it in all the way I shifted from R to P and the same thing happened. Since then I have not started it, and I couldn't get a good look underneath it to see if there were any loose items.
I plan on seeing my mechanic today so we can atleast start to diagnose what is wrong. I would really appreciate any input you all have. If you need anymore information, please feel free to ask. Thank you all so much.

I've thought about having Alfa Romeo 156 JTS as my first car. Its not too expensive and it seems alright, is it O K or should I kill myself
>>16623852
Why not the 159? There's a few cheap ones about.
>>16623855
well on the local websites I've seen the 159's are far more expensive than the 156's, but would it be worth it to save up a bit?
That must be equivalent to some ole Buick or Pontiac or Oldsmobile here in the states. I mean, to my eye it's like OH COOL AN ALFA ROMEO. But inside, it's actually terrible?
