Oldfag here. I bought my son his first manual Civic Si this weekend but when he saw it, he told me he hates me and wanted an automatic Mustang. He cracked the windshield with his skateboard before storming off to his room. He wouldn't talk to me or come out until I sold the Si and bought him a Mustang, but he rear ended my neighbor's SUV on the first day. His mother is blaming me for the accident and is trying to have his visitation rights revoked. On top of that, I have to pay for my neighbor's repairs.
>>16616300
Your fault for raising a selfish normalfag
>>16616300
I really hope that this isn't true.
This is fucking infuriating
>>16616300
I would have loved to have had a civic compared to my POS El Camino with a engine swap. It got 4mpg
Bare with me /o/, I'm gonna tell you a brief story.
>Have family in Mexico
>regularly go visit once or twice a year
>every time I go, I find at least one or two gems
>found a '67 Camaro shell in excellent condition
>Dad's buddy agreed to sell me his 240z for
$3500 USD
.
>Z is in fantastic condition, all original.
>Have never imported a vehicle before
>thinking of investing some of my savings into buying some of those cars and flipping them in the US of A
Does anyone have any experience with importing cars from Mexico/Canada?
>>16616285
You have to go back
>>16616297
No, I don't. Ebin maymay though, did you come up with it all by yourself?
>>16616285
>sell me his 240z for $3500 USD
>Z is in fantastic condition, all original.
I am really jealous of you
I've never had personal experience with importing cars from bordering nations, but I heard its all tricky paperwork. You gotta dot your I and cross your Ts and make sure everything is right when you submit paperwork or you are going to go through a lot of headaches
No memes or trolls, but out of these three which should I buy? I'm leaning Challenger because I like its looks, but would definetley buy any of the others as well.
>>16616282
Pick your favorite.
Challenger is best DD and imo best looking

ok /O/, im looking to buy a JDM car or at the very least buying a car that comes from a Japanese manufactorer
im going to exclude Subaru because of their boxer engines being a bitch to work with and Honda because the only good thing to get from them are Type R DC2 Integras and Type R Civics which they're worth a minimum of $10k AUD (im a ausfag living in QLD)
im really not picky in the terms of the type of drive train. although i would like FWD or AWD due to extra grip
and also im not allowed to choose turbochargers or superchargers due to me being on a P plate
also fuck Toyota Celicas since the only good Celica is the ST205 and i cant drive that due to it being turbocharged
plz halp
also my budget is $8k (im in the middle of saving up for it since i only have $800 atm)
also pic unrelated. AE86 parts are rare, they're overpriced due to the Takumi tax and they're usually rusted out in Australia
>>16616259
mr2 sw20 n/a
do it bitch
>>16616317
i heard good things about the MR2 SW20. even though the snap oversteer thing is bit of a issue, it can be fixed with good tyres
>>16616328
if you make it snap oversteer youre just bad at driving it

Pioneer a shit. Kenwood is "meh" i have a kenwood head unit right now, and I liked my Alpine one 3x better. Speakers are Alpine
Hello /o/, just got hired into a cushy job and I need to upgrade from my shitty college car. Should I get a challenger or a corolla? I know corolla is the right answer, but challengers are sexy. Give me good advice.

automatic challenger, be like the rest of the women

thinking about getting a mustang eco boost for my daily driver what are some "sporty" coupes out there for that price range (less than 30k) I have a 2016 Corolla S for whats its worth I like it but I want a little more power. my credit is ehhh OK its about 702. no manual cause im a bitch. commute is 27 miles round trip
>>16616191
I have one in a manual and like it. Get the auto for straight line speed. Very easy to hit 330-350 whp with bolt ons and E30. First thing you need is an intercooler. Don't waste money on a CAI and get the accessport for tuning. Other sporty coupes include BMW 1&2 series, Camaro, challenger, BRZ twins, and I'm sure there are a few others.
>>16616325
not really a car person but what about the golf GTI with DSG
>>16616333
Those are pretty fun aswell and good on gas. Not really a coupe though. It depends how much you want RWD or if you want more FWD. I think insurance is pretty high if you're younger on the GTI.
>that feeling when you see yet another FORD dead on the highway

You'd have to be really really ignorant or no car to disrespect the American pony car. You'd have to been under 19 years old to actually go out of your way to hate on a car.
A reasonable person will recognize the American pony car is good at what it was built for. Sale in high numbers with a low cost, be fun, and be desired.
No its not the fastest, no its not the most tech loaded, but for what you pay it will put you in the same league as much more expensive cars.
I don't expect a lot of reply's this thread so I am making it an American pony car thread.
Post your love for the Mustang, Comaro, Trans AM
Why do you care what I think? Go away over Lmao
Americans cars are just plain shit
>>16616047
Here is a challenge for you.
What evidence do you have to show that American cars are just plain shit?
I am looking at the attached truck. I want to spend as little as possible on a vehicle. I already have a reliable, decent daily. This would be more for a project. According to the ad, this 1986 F150 is in good running condition, the 4x4 works as advertised, no serious mechanical issues (that are being disclosed).
Cons are the dents, rot in the bed wheel wells, rust in other areas, a rougher interior. The truck is not currently plated or on the road.
He wants 1500$ for it. What would YOU pay for this F150. I will post some more photos. My biggest concerns is rust as this is an alberta vehicle. The odometer is at 208,000 Kilometers or about 130,000 miles.
Also he says it is "straight piped" which means nothing to me other then "buy a muffler"
I don't think the interior matters. The truck is 31 years old. It has the bench seats with camo seat covers, camo steering wheel cover ect.
Hey guys,
i'm trying to decide on a new car for around 5k USD
I've been looking at an RX-8 G35 350z and a miata since i wanna be a JDM boy
What's /o/'s thoughts on these cars

I want to drive early 2000's/90's/80's shitboxes fast and my only prerequisite is having fundamental knowledge of what takes place in an engine and other components of a vehicle so I can at least diagnose the issues that my car is having. I want it to be a hobby and not a lifestyle. Where do I start?
Also, I do not have a sport shit box at the moment. Right now I drive a 93' accord.
I'd get either a pre OBD car (early 80s) or early OBDII car (94-96 depending on manufacturer). Primitive pre OBD and OBD1 is a pain to work on/learn.
>>16615843
Get something that came with a stock turbo
>>16615862
>>16617585
Thanks for the reply. Are there any youtube channels or guides for beginners that teach the anatomy and processes of an engine and other car components?
why doesn't Yamaha make their own cars instead of just making car engines?
that logo would look pretty cool I think.
Don't have the infrastructure + they're already so well in just about everything else, so why would they?
