This is actually happening? I've seen this talked about for years. This is the first time it seems like it is actually gaining traction.

>The OA-X would be a buy of 250 prop-driven aircraft for “permissive” environments. The two planes that appear to be in contention are the Embraer A-29 Super-Tucana and the Textron Beechcraft AT-6 since they meet the criteria of being off-the-shelf aircraft, which Holmes stressed as a requirement for this plane. Textron’s intriguing Scorpion, which has been touted as a possible CAS aircraft, is non-developmental so it wouldn’t be considered for the OA-X.

>Still, the question arises: since the F-35A is intended to replace the A-10 for Close Air Support, why does the Air Force need another CAS asset?

Old people and idiots, that's why.
Its the same reason sails were kept on naval vessels long after their obsolescence, the same reason bayonet drill was emphasized for so long, I could go on.

Other options are being considered as well according to your article.

So I've seen the beretta cx4 and I don't know why it hasn't sold a lot of units, it has a nice aesthetic in my opinion and 9mm rounds are relatively cheap. So what do you think /k/?

>>
>>30766573

Why would it sell a lot?
It's a niche product (pistol caliber carbines aren't exactly popular for anything but plinking) and looks like something you'd arm Saturday morning cartoon henchmen with.
>>
>>30766573
There's not a lot of demand for a pistol caliber carbine and the price is a turn off.
>>
>>30766573

>shoots pistol ammo
>not a pistol

hokay. Speaking from my own perspective there are lots of guns that I want, but a rifle that shoots 9mm is not one of them.

Home defense? I'd use a handgun in 9mm. Plinking? 9mm is cheap but not as cheap as .22.

That, and if for some bizarre reason I change my mind, there's a certain ugly-as-shit .9mm carbine that we all know of that costs about a third as much.

What are your general responses to planing/reacting to active shooter scenario if you were suddenly in one. Do you think you would actually Fight or just try and get away/hide if it happened in your place of work/Study.

Exactly what happens at Level C SERE training? Do they starve you, beat the shit out of you, and treat you like a POW?

I would assume so. Its acronym is literally Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape.

The only way to torture a man is by sodomizing him

And sandpeople sodomize each other all the time. I don't think SERE is accurate.

Well you need people to shoot at, and I guess to be considered "good" they'd need to be like, trained people that were shooting back at you.

So that pretty much rules you out unless you're up for making some serious lifestyle changes.

Is shooting an air rifle completely different from shooting a real one? If I train with an air rifle, will I be able to kinda handle a real gun? I live in a commie shithole and want to be prepared. Getting actual guns here is almost impossible.
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
You can learn sight picture, breathing, trigger press, and body stability with an air rifle, so it's not totally useless if you later pick up a gun.
>>
Nah, it's actually pretty good practice, and inexpensive, provided you get a decent air rifle and not just an airsoft mockup. Focus on trigger discipline, general gun safety, and the mechanics of shooting. Just don't get lazy with it like it's a toy gun, or it's useless for making good habits automatic.

I'm afraid to try and go buy a gun. I have no felonies, just a misdemeanor, but 7 years ago I was admitted to a phychiatric hospital for a few days against my will. Will that bar me from the check? In VA if it matters, halp, pic unrelated my house.

Hello /k/, I'm in possession of a VEPR-12 shotgun, and I only own one magazine. I've had trouble finding magazines for it in my local gun stores, and options online are pretty damn expensive.

I've heard about 3D printing plastic components and using ordinary springs to assemble magazines for different guns and it seems like it could be pretty useful.

I think it would be legal if I print a magazine that abides by my state laws (IL), but I'm not sure if I'm legally allowed to print gun magazines at all.

I'd most likely use the 3D printer available at my university for this, but I feel like uploading a 3D model of a VEPR-12 mag would cause a bit of a stir.

>TL;DR is 3D printing a magazine worth it or not? Is it legal, economical, practical, etc.?

Also, does anybody know of a website that would have a catalog of gun related 3D models? After looking through thingverse, I feel like fun related 3D models are taken down routinely.
