Are army surplus stores commonplace, or are they less common than I thought? My local town has one FILLED with awesome stuff like MRE's, trench coats, ammo boxes, etc. And I was wondering if you guys have one near you. If so, post the coolest stuff you've bought from there!

It's called "Andy and Bax" it's got alot of different stuff.
They have OCP, ACU and other camos that still have the manufacturer and PX exchange tags on them. US Army genuine rucks, fighting load carriers and MICH style helmets. They have a lot of stuff it took me a few stopins to look at everything.
They sell dehydrated food and survival stuff too, along with some not so old MREs
Most of the stuff is overpriced, aside from the older uniforms.
I bought a medical kit that was a surplus of the 2015 Afghanistan war. It was pretty high in price. They have some cool stuff just wish they would have lower prices.
They also sell kayaks too, and mini pontoon boats.
It's located in Portland Oregon, the only real surplus store in the area.

Merkava, duh.
It has active protection and a panoramic sights and thermals, and its armor is optimized for protection against advanced HEAT warheads.
The T-90 is just a T-72 and has a thermal imager if you're lucky to have one of the newer models and some very old ERA.
Pretty sure a 125 mm DU sabot round can still fuck up a Merkava however.

I could link the article but basically these rounds, designed in the 70s and 80s were higher velocity brass penetrators. According to the article not only did they have superior accuracy but they also caused serious damage, and the obvious benefit to armor penetration since thats what they were designed for.
(my guess, just speculatively based on them being lighter rounds in the 15-20 grain weight range (?) the muzzle velocity must be at least 4000 fps).
So combine Stopping Power AND Penetration together, you would think people would still be making these. Even if it was just a solid homogenous copper projectile to avoid being classed as armor piercing.
The picture here also includes a rare 7.62x51 version and armor piercing pistol versions.
So my question is this... why isnt anybody taking a stab at making these now?
And if "barrel burning" is an issue why not use Powder Coating...
Somebody else on AR15.com forum also recommended them for stopping power for pistols in italy because they're not allowed to use hollowpoints.
