Why the hell are these things so expensive, are they worth it? They sure make my dick hard, though. Post pix of FN FALs and other beautiful battle rifles please
>>31053771
How expensive are we talking? Like $1000-$1500? Seems legit if so.
Hell my AR cost $1200 overall. I don't know what you're worried about.
>>31053771
It's a pricey gun
>>31053811
I'd be happy if I could find one for that price, I'd gladly pay it.
>tfw you'll never get to engage in infantry space combat with your standard issue laser rifle against a maniacal anarcho-capitalist.
>Feelsbadman.jpeg
Which unit would you request from your Astro-recruiter? Why?
>infantry space combat
I don't know how to break this with you, but space combat would be really similar to fighting in a nuclear submarine, with a little bit of ICBM silo mixed in.
What you're actually going to be doing is really specialist programming, electrical, and mechanical work.
Just got back from mrtal decting near a battle site in a rivver in georgia.
Two of the thing i found were a bullet casing with no markings, that i guess is .32, and a pear shaped object thats either covered or made of a soft metal that is magnetic, hoping its artillary related but its probably just an anchor.
So can anyone tell me what these are and what year they come from?
Also metal detecting finds thread
Also this watch
Any info would be great, couldnt find much on google
Pear object looks like a powder horn from the civil war. The casing is obviously a bullet casing, and I've got no clue what that other thing is, be careful with it though. I'm sure you've noticed, but it seems to have a knob, I'd avoid playing too much with it since its probably pretty old, but some sort of locket is what comes to mind after glancing at it.
>>31054121
Op here, the pear is round the whole way, solid, and is heavy, and the watch is a digital lucerne, but thats all i could find
I posted this in a QTDDTOT the other day, but it died shortly after.
I received a rifle from my grandma, been hanging on her living room wall since before I was alive. She's moving to a smaller house and getting rid of things. Gave it to me since she knows I'm the only one in the family into guns. Doesn't know anything about it, grampa is long gong to ask.
So I'll post some pics and what little info I've been able to muster on google, but since it's so old and there were apparently many different ones made, info is sketch at best
>>31053588
So far I know it's a .22 since grandma provided me with one "bullet" (a blank). From some reading a lot of these old Flobert actions were intended to shoot .22 CB. I remember my grandpa shooting at a squirrel with it once when I was about 9, so I think it can at the very least shoot .22 short, though I don't think I'd shoot .22 LR through it. The rear flappy-bit doesn't lock or click into place at all, and there's just a free floating firing pin attached to it, which doesn't give me a ton of faith given that this this is evidently around 100 years old. Can anyone chime in on ammo recommendations? Should I even try .22 short?

The wood is in excellent shape and there's barely any rust on it, what rust there is is almost more just a slight discoloring
I think this was one of those rifles you'd used to be able to buy at the hardware store or Sears & Roebuck around the turn of the century for kids or varmint control. I'm a big guy, 6'3", but this thing is TINY.
Here's the real meat as far as any id goes. The only real marking I can make out is "H PEIPER" on the barrel, and a 4 digit serial underneath, but googling that leads me to other single shots that look different than this one. simpler stocks, no ornate trigger guard. Also predictive search keeps wanting to add "Leige" or "Belgium" to the search, so I gather that's where it was likely made, but there's no stamps on it that say that. Supposedly there's proof marks that can help underneath the hinge of the action, but as you can see here it's barely legible
Anyone have any experience with BAE Systems RBAV vest?

I got one, what do you want to know?
>>31053741
Is it worth the price?

What is the carrier you looking at going for?
Don't they want to have a serious navy like Russia?

You mean tugboat-powered, right?
>>31053471
No that's their carrier.
>>31053490
>Implying that isn't their whole navy
See that tow-line sticking off its bow?
How effective are bullpups compared to traditional rifles?
They're extremely effective at startting flame wars on /k/. A lot of bullpups seem to have awful triggers due to a complex linkage system, 5MOA accuracy, or both.

An incompetant zookeepers gun.

/k/ I need to go shooting tomorrow.
I live in the Roanoke area of Virginia, and I am hoping that one of you has somewhere to do so.
I'll just dump some wallpapers
I've got who knows how many bottles, a steel plate, and a big glass cutting board I've collected for the specific purpose of putting lead through.
So I've decided that I'm going to hunt feral pigs and boar. They're an invasive species in Ohio, so there's no bag limit, weapon specifications, or season. I can get the basic hunting license and go bananas, no problem. However, I lack the firepower to kill one. All I have is a shitty antique 5 shot .38 revolver from the late 1800s which won't cut it.
I need something relatively cheap since I'm not that rich. I'd rather have a rifle than a shotgun, even though I like shotguns a lot more. I'd just rather kill it when it's far away rather than up close. What do you suggest I buy?
>bolt action
Savage Hog Hunter, Ruger American, or Tikka T3/T3x in .308.
>lever action
Any modern variant of the Marlin 336 or 1895. .30-30 and .45-70 will ruin a pig's day every time. Ignore retards who suggest Henry levergats, since you have to muzzle load them like a fucking musket.
>semi auto
Anything in .308 or 7.62x39 ought to do the job. If you want an AR in .223/5.56, make sure you're using M193 out of a 20" barrel.
>>31052940
AR15.
>>31052940
Semi-auto 5.56, .300 AAC, 7.62x39, or .308 win.
Hey /k/, is there any way I can "manufacture" a Glock, or another pistol. And I mean like a real pistol.
In my state, Maryland, you have to get a license to buy, sell, or rent a handgun. So getting an actual handgun legally is a pain in the ass.
I know for a fact that I can get a handgun illegally, even though I'm about as white as they come and I live in the suburbs, but I'd rather not break the law.
So I was wondering if it's possible to make a pistol, like a 1911 or Glock, the same way people make AR and AK pistols.
Thanks.
They sell 80% 1911 kits.
From what I know, you can't make your own from scratch legally. There is a part of every gun that has a serial number on it. That's the illegal part to make. Just get a license and do it the right way.

/thread
for me it'd probably be a army eod guy who became a green beret and learned all the leet shit there and went to all the cool schools (ranger, halo, dive, sniper) and then after serving for awhile when to delta to be a leet counter terror operator as a sniper and while he was in the service got his bachelors and attended officer school and came back as a mythical delta dive, halo qualified EOD sniper officer.
not sure if in the history of the united states military any army guy has managed all that although it seems possible.
who do you think could be the most highly trained military guys in the world?

I don't have to use my imagination, Lauri Torni already existed.
So .k. I hear you know guns.I would also think many of you hunt.Im not well versed in either. So here is the question.I got a maverick 88 on a recommendation from here.I want to change the stock to the pic.It cuts recoil.I want the gun for an all around gun.Hunting and home defense. I know lower recoil is good for a follow up shot. Will this stock be ok for both? Also, any hunting info would be welcomed.

Yeah, we do. You can't do that particular mod to your FAMAS mate
I'm eligible to apply for my shall issue CC/purchase permit in a week. My threat model consists of mountain lions, black bears (on the off chance I can't just scare them off, I know they're pussies) and the occasional nog swarm, so I'd like something a little bigger than a 9mm. What's a good first handgun that won't bankrupt me? I was looking at a 1911 in .45 or 10mm, or a Ruger American Pistol in .45. Are those decent options?
>please respond
>>31052347
>m. What's a good first handgun that won't bankrupt me?

go big or go home OP
hk usp in 45
fags hate em since they cant save and afford em
>>31052347
Get the .45 Ruger SR1911 lightweight Commander edition. Can't possibly go wrong there.
So /k/, I'm gonna be getting my first concealed carry soon. What's the best one out there for price-to-effectiveness ratio? Taurus has a shit reputation, but the 738 TCP honestly sounds really good. Ruger LCP is also a consideration.
Recommendations?
>inb4 obrez
>>31052278
P320c
>>31052278
I carry a Glock 43, but I considered going for the Sig p238. Opted for the Glock because of budget reasons and preference for 9mm.
LCP has some quality of life things I don't like much (like not holding open on the last round).
