Hello /k/omrades, I'm new to revolvers. I acquired an antique Colt 1892 DA, but not without some problems. Apparently these guns are notorious for being quite finicky and fragile, but I want this gun to be shootable as it's classified as an antique firearm here in Canada and that means I can carry it in the bush.
My first problem is the barrel. It's shot. And not just worn out, it's bent. Now I was wondering if it would work to machine and thread a 10mm Glock barrel to fit. This old Colt is a 41 caliber long colt, and from what I read it should be fairly close. Would the polygonal rifling present a problem in a firearm like this? And would the barrel be too hard to turn on a lathe?
My second problem is the lockup. It's fairly loose, and I was thinking either the hand or the ratchet is worn out. I was wondering if anyone could give advice or point me in the right direction here.
I can only find one supplier that actually has parts for these guns, but export laws down in the states make my options severely limited...
Bumpity bump. Home someone can give me some insight
/k/ isn't THAT easy to troll
Now get the fuck out
>>32804174
Uh, have you taken it to a gunsmith for any kind of advice or an estimate on what should really be done and at what cost?
Bubba is becoming sentient. Bubba knows that it's ruining good rifles. And I won't lie I'm pretty fucking mad about it.

Literal autism. Let people do what they want, stay mad poorfag.
>>32804104
That is not okay
>>32804104
Seriously. Who cries about sks'.
How many cars could a rampaging tank drive over before it gets stuck?
This poor sap didn't realize that concrete > tanks apparently.

Concrete loses to tanks, but tanks lose to air. He got the tank wedged on top of concrete where it was suspended off the ground.
He came in at a bad angle, if he'd hit that head on he would have blown right through the concrete barricade. Instead he barely skimmed it and his own momentum and centered the tank on top of the divide.

Dat due process.

>tfw N2 bombs could become reality
No, that was Akira
probably a meme
I would be most interested in its usage as filling for anti tank warheads.
imagine an RPG-sized warhead completely obliterating an Abrams from the front.
Found this inside the homework packet of a kid I tutor.
That's actually reasonable as fuck for a young child.
Obviously its straight crap at any other level.
How old?
>the man
>>32803476
Yeah for a 9 year old it's not bad reading material. It definitely made me have to hide my power level though.
Also what am I looking at there anon?
what were some civil war rifles that didn't use gunpowder
How did they end up like this?
>>32803458
It's interesting that the two largest NATO armies also have the lowest ratios of whites.
Isn't it obvious?
1. see US and allied countries train locals, equip them with antitank weapons.
2. see IS attack. see locals throw their antitank weapons in the ground and run without firing a shot.
4. IS now has antitank weapons.
5. boom goes US and allied tanks.
Questions?
>>32803458
I think it has something to do with the fact that interventions in Syria and Yemen are the first examples of asymmetric warfare in which ATGMs are used to this extent. I don't think any army would've done better, including US.
A major push where tanks are not used as """pillboxes""" as everyone claims as what US would've done is not a viable option in a populated area where defenders fortified for months unless you're okay with getting called a murderer of civilians.
I'm guessing lack of absolute dominance of air, 24/7 air cover and lack of infantry that is not FSA are also other problems.
It has nothing to do with "Why Arabs lose wars", that explains why they usually lose symmetrical warfare with other countries in which structure of the armed forces are more important.
This is a thread compleatly forwarded to any scoped weapon. A few examples could be a cheytac m200 (personal favourite) Or a T14 Timberwolf
AI AX
LMT MWS
Timberwolf C14 a bolt action rifle with a 660mm barrel (26)
Am I the only one who has abused the ballistic gelatin? .45acp ball makes a pretty sweet hole.

Genuine question - I haven't been on /k/ for long. Kindly explain to me the term operator, as opposed to a soldier. I HAVE googled briefly and I get that it used to be a Special Forces reference but it seems that these days, an operator is just another soldier. Do I understand this meme correctly?
>>32803035
>do I understand this meme correctly
Get out
>>32803035
You need training.
So you guys don't know either, eh?

Have you guys ever fanned a hammer on a single action revolver? Do you have any tips or tricks? Am I going to blow my hand off (probably)?
>>32802885
The most important tip: Don't do it you faggot.
Fanning the hammer is hard on the gun and will lead to it developing timing issues.
>>32802885
If you ever want to do this buy cheap pot metal .22 and use blanks.
What does /k/ think about the ForeTex401 for Innawoods operating? Want some input before I pull the trigger.

Dude, its a GPS receiver, it does not broadcast your location dumbass.
>Not knowing how 30 year old technology works
Pretty much standard equipment in most infantry line units. I have/use one. Can't go wrong really.
The new B-21 Raider, a bomber being developed by Northrop Grumman, is supposed to take a major part of the B2's role in air to ground missions. Expected to have similar (and more developed) technology than the current running F35 program, as well as take over some of its need for air to ground missions, the B21 Raider is will truly be the next generation (gen 5) bomber.
So why, in any sense of any world, in the fuck would they NOT want to make it carrier compatible? Do we have stealth drones on the way for that or something? Is this planned to base in places like South Korean and Japan for keeping China and East China at bay? What the fuck is the point? Fire up some B2s and let them rip!
>>32802653
The B2's stealth technology is getting old, they want something that can take on its missions and more, in a future high threat environment.
They aren't putting it on carriers because it's going to be huge, and will have the range and refueling capabilities to make carriers somewhat redundant in its deployment.
>>32802653
>So why, in any sense of any world, in the fuck would they NOT want to make it carrier compatible?
are you retarded?
>>32802672
Which leads me to ask, how do pilots possibly fly these 20-30 hour missions in the first place? Like, I know they don't have to pay attention to the controls the entire time, but that's still a very long time to be sitting in a small pod. Do they bring snacks up there or something?
