I want to drive from continental US to Alaska with all my funs on me or in the trunk? Do I need to do something special not to get into trouble?
>>32788339
Just ship them up
>>32788394
I just want to drive to where I feel like at the moment. There's no preset destination, or schedule.
>>32789738
I heard it used to be possible for Americans to get Canadian gun licenses, but I think you're asking for trouble. Most people ship their guns if they're not flying with them.
I'm an AK guy through and through, but I've got more money than sense and lately I've been consumed by the idea of doing a bargain-basement PSA AR build and paint it to look like pic related.
Does anyone here have experience painting their shit and how would I go about doing it?
50 foot range my ass
prep work is everything
cure time is important
even with good prep spraypaint cans are shit and wear off
>>32788214
Yeah, but I'd rather paint it at home than having to deal with the shame of going to a local anodizing/powder coating place and explaining to them that I'm painting an AR-15 to look like a children's toy from 25 years ago.
Speak nothing of going to an actual gunsmith.
Your finger fucking a rifle at your favorite lgs.
You feel someone come up come behind you and slap your ass.
You turn around and see this.
What do?
You need more training
draw forth a beretta M1935 as my CCW, it'll cause him to meltdown

i'd probably just walk away, i don't like trannies.
There were a few things that I wondered about SBR weapons.
How many of you guys prefer SBR's over 16" rifles for HD? Since an SBR is louder and would need a suppressor for indoors, what is the point of reducing the barrel length? Plus you are sacrificing velocity that allows 5.56 and .223 to fragment, which is valuable for self-defense. Do you value "room clearing" versus staying put and barricading yourself until the cavalry comes to take out jamal in your house?
And what is the value of an SBR in a SHTF? I never got the whole "muh ounces equal pounds" argument unless you are literally carrying 100 pounds of equipment like soldiers. If you are going to carry that much shit in a SHTF scenario, you will be the first to get ravaged by jamal in the apocalypse.
Educate me please, because I just don't get the value of registering yourself with the feds, paying a sin tax to exercise a right, and dealing with BS laws for a small chance life goes south.
They're cool.
>>32787921
If you're bringing suppressors into it:
A 10" barrel and 6" suppressor is the same as a barrel.
Muh pistol build.
Why are they in such a bad situation ?
They make excellent and famous guns. They have contrats with the military in particularly the swiss army and the new swiss service rifle will probably be the SG 553...
But they have exportation problems with swiss laws and to sell into the US market (the reason of the existence of SigSauer)..
On the other side you have B&T (which is un excellent manufacturer too) doing very well and expending. The company is selling pistols like the APC9 and will sell his APC556 too on the US market. Plus the export guns are made in Switzerland like the normal ones.
Why is SAN SwissArms facing so much problems and B&T not ????
Why nobody cares and let this company dying (especially the swiss government) ?
As a last resort couldn't B&T buy it and absorb it ? Or at least the government save it and incorporate it into RUAG ?
Is SAN SwissArms inevitably going to die and the 55X family with it ?
>>32788621
Because it's a skeleton of the former company. Literally just a few of the old staff working in a derelict shed to finish a few contracts and perform maintenance on army guns.
All new production is moved to Sauer & Sohn in Germany, using CNC to make all the new cookie cutter guns, and is therefore shit.
The real Swiss SIG really ceased to exist back in 2000, when the SIG company sold all the gun-related production facilities and decided to focus on making beverage containers, lol.
So if you own any "SIG" guns made after the year 2000, you've been duped, BADLY.
>>32788621
One of the reasons why B&T is doing good is because their rifles cost about 30% less than the SIG equivalent (APC223 is CHF 2600.00, SIG 551 is CHF 3600.00). They also offer a complete line of SMG, integrally suppressed SMG, and rifle with the same ergos. All guns are completely customizable. So if you want to equip your police department with one line of guns, B&T is a good option. Then, they also have compact PDWs, sniper rifles and grenade launchers. B&T also tries to innovate. A new pistol/carbine hybrid called the USW should come out this year.
SIG lives on its old glories from the 1990s, the 550, 551, 553 and the grenade launcher that goes with it. Some parts are even purchased from B&T (railed handguard, Rotex flash hidder...).

>larry snickers uses a g19
>patmac uses a g19
>Massad Ayoob uses a g19
>chris costa uses a g19
>memestructor zero uses a g19
>buck yaeger uses a g19
Why do faggots shitpost so much about the glock when actual operators clearly prefer it over other handguns?
Because they made poor purchasing decisions that they feel the need to justify or they're contrarian children
>>32788223
I'm happy with my G19. I didn't get it because it was pretty or super nice, I got it because it has a huge reputation for reliability and it has a huge aftermarket.
>>32788223
because its boring, reigning dominant in the pistol market, and therefore is now considered 'mainstream garbage' by the consumer whore masses that will argue to no avail that there are better alternatives when we already know there are better alternatives for the role
the glock 19 was just the first one to fill so many roles, be stupid simple and lightweight and have average combat accuracy that was good enough to kill people dead for it's intended purpose
C= POMF =3
What are we gonna do on the table?
Let's get u undressed :D
>>32787832
>>32787849
Ah, just um... well you see it's pretty hot in my room right? So you don't want to get too sweaty you know, it'll make you all dirty!
Hey I have an idea, take off your slide. It's okay I won't look i promise! You'll feel way more comfortable and you won't get sweaty or dirty! It's okay I'm not looking!

I am ready to drop some cash on a Fulton Armory FAR-15 Legacy rifle (w / duck bill flash hider).
I know I could do a more authentic M16A1 build myself, but I have money and I don't really care too much about authenticity (the superficial aesthetics are fine).
Main uses would be target shooting and varmint hunting off the back of a 4wheeler in wide-open country.
Question for /k/:
I want to throw an optic on the carry handle, thinking either an ACOG or ELCAN. Dig how both of them look, have never used anything on their product line.
Anything additional I should consider?
>>32787800
Then you. Would still wanna build.its cheaper no matter how authentic you want it to be
>>32787851
This is fact, I could get over my laziness and build the fucking thing instead.
I can probably will myself to order parts and push a few pins in.
>>32787800
The only thing I could see you wanting to buy from Fulton Armory outright would be a M14 clone. Theirs are bretty gud from what I hear.
PRÉPAREZ BAÏONNETTES!
>THEY SHALL NOT PASS, COMRADE!
>>32787231
Bayonets give me such a hard on!
>inb4 lean down
ITS HAPPENING! SLAVSHIT INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do we sell our current pieces now at max value then rebuy when they are cheap?s
$300 SVT-40s when?
should we sell nuggets now while they are above $300?
$60 nuggets when?
Thoughts on modern Chinese weapons?
>>32787125
They copied
id give money for one of those integrally suppressed type 85s
>>32787125
Looks like a logistics nightmare
Hey /k/ommandos nogunz here what's a good beginner long gun?
Criteria:
Cannot have pistol grip (Cannot have in NM if you're under 21)
The cheaper the better
I've only shot an M16 in 223 before (Air forces CATM """"""""training"""""""")
Pic related, was looking at getting a mini 14 but wanted you guys opinions first
>>32786993
My first long gun was a Remington 783. They're good and cheap and I've never had any issues with it
mini 14 is fine, just make sure it isn't an old one.
>>32786993
Buy an SKS and save your money for an AK or AR.
Or get an M1 Garand from the CMP.
Or just get yourself a good hunting rifle as in pic related.
let's talk talk about the 10mm special

>>32787178
Why be a hater when you can have both 9 and .40?
>>32787178
I don't cc it, but by sig 229 .40 is the best damn gun I've ever shot. Nothing comes close in accuracy and reliability.
>>32787232
My hk p2000sk is still a VERY nice gun though, and by choice for cc. 9mm though.
Heel mag releases - less functional but somehow still better. Post em.
>>32786945
>less functional
No, its only a matter of preference
In upside down with fullsize

>>32787165
Ohh wow.
>The gun advocates actually advocated for guns, so we kicked them off
Your country literally sucks.
>>32787233
>Three gun enthusiasts from the committee were replaced with police officers.
>Even so, the remaining members were all white, and only one of them was a woman.
Being white is grounds for being fucking fired now.
