hello /k/ are you relaxing tonight?
Hanging out with the retired Remington 870 Police Magnum I acquired back around Christmas time.
since nobody appears to be joining the thread, and I can't delete it now.. I will post pictures of WW2 planes while I have a drink.

hah
Maybe this is a newb question but what exactly was the purpose of Direct Impingement?
Genuinely curious why wasnt the AR designed with a gas piston system?
Is there some sort of inherent benefit accuracy wise to DI?
>>32795794
Gas blowback has less recoil than DI.
>>32795794
Autistic answer: The AR-15 does use a gas piston, it's just not located over the barrel.
Real answer: Stoner was all about that in-line recoil. Keep all the moving parts in line with the bore axis and shit.
>>32795794
Saves weight, lower costs, and reduces the mass of the operating parts, and thereby the wear on mechanical parts due to movement. By removing the gas piston, the potential amount of moving mass is lowered, thus decreasing the potential for a disrupted sight picture, as caused by the mass of the piston adding to the disruptive mass
MiG will grow larger.
MiG-35 officially unveiled.

How successful on the market do you think it will be?
Hooray, time for another vaporware next-gen russian plane
>>32797290
>Oh look another slav plane that's still stuck in the 70s in terms of airframe design.
>>32797334
Russia's got a domestic order for 37 and Egypt's ordered 50 to go along with their Rafales.
There's a market for MiG-21/23/29 replacements. And as long as the Russians shit on the Chinese shit boxes for countries who won't buy American or European, I'm happy.
>>32797368
You got some aerodynamic and RCS reduction improvements, I mean for us F-15s, F-16 and F-18s continued to be sold. Mechanicals have been replaced by FBW.
I have this fascination with cowboy guns with carbon fiber on them. Anyone have any pics or OC?

Leopard 2 manned by FSA vs. T-90 manned by Hezbollah vs. M1A1 manned by Iraqi Army
Who wins?
They are all goatfuckers so you can't use the "muh crew" defense.
All 3 would be knocked out by the yemens using molotov kocktails
>>32795361
ISIS side shots all of them with ATGMs while they're sitting on a hill above a town that hasn't been cleared by infantry or suppressed by artillery
>>32795361
>They are all goatfuckers so you can't use the "muh crew" defense.
Isn't Hezbollah considered more competent as far as goatfuckers go, though?

Hey /k/omrades I'm looking to buy some ammo for my type 38 Arisaka. It's 6.5x50mm and the best price I can find is $26.99 for 20. I've never bought these rounds before so I dont know if it's a good price
>pic related, not mine but the same rifle
>>32795066
That's about right. Certainly not going to find them for much cheaper.
Very few companies manufacture 6.5x50mmSR Arisaka; you're looking at about the best price you're going to get. Handloading is a must if you want to shoot this rifle with any kind of economy.
I personally believe the arisake action is stronger than the mauser action
Is the RK95 /k/ approved?
>>32796023
is it gun
>>32796445
It's the gun pictured
>>32796023
It seems like it would be alright. Most of us Americans have never shot one.
/k/, I live in Britian's green and pleasant land. Should I prep? In terms of natural disasters the worst we ever get is a minor flood or blizzard.

If I was a bong I'd be more worried about the snackbars than about the weather tbqhwyf.
>>32794753
Meh I wouldn't. But then we are an island that imports most of its goods so it might not be a bad idea. Start with a gun.

Greetings fellow /k/ommandos.
I've never purchased a Mauser before, but have enjoyed shooting them, and decided I wanted to invest.
However, I wanted to purchase an actual German made Mauser in some capacity, at least where it counts. I wanted to shoot with it every once and a while, but also have an interesting piece of history. I found this locally, but I'm not entirely certain if it's legitimate in any way.
I think it might be a Russian recapture. If anyone could assist in identifying this, I would be greatly appreciative.
Here's the link to the photobucket: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/manowar/media/dot43/dot43k.jpg.html
Asking price is 400.00. Supposedly bought it from an importer in 1999. Maybe Century Arms. Which is somewhat disconcerting.
That amount of rust makes me uncomfortable. How's it look inside the barrel?
>>32794566
>a
The bore is pretty smooth and the rifling is in decent condition. Not perfect, but decent. I can't speak about headspace unfortunately.
>>32794489
>Maybe Century Arms. Which is somewhat disconcerting
Why?
Anyways it's probably a capture judging from the peening on the proof marks, but most Russian captures don't have the bolt in the white.

Why do nogunz seem to think this is the ideal way to shoot a gun? You can launch a bullet out of a gun by thrusting it. Does no one care about accuracy?
>>32795976
>Trump is stopping leftist gun aversion
Can't compute if good or bad
>>32795976
Not to turn this into pol; I'm really sorry but I hope she gets fired and has her retirement fucked with.
As for your question...I don't know. I was scratching my head... She's probably a transplant nogunz from a cuck state. She's probably one of ours (Oregon).
>>32795976
teacher only got temporarily suspended, meanwhile if that were Obama on that projector it would have been front page news and she'd be crucified and potentially charged with criminal threats against the president.
Do you guys know any guide (preferably online) about standard knowledges of a soldier (find optimal routes with a map, small teams incursions in villages, you know what I mean...). Just imagine that you are a NATO Infantryman, what would you have to know?

Why is the glock 19 the most popular handgun in USA?
>>32794345
>cheap
>reliable
>tons of accessories

just werks

I concur with that statement, fellow Glock lover. I bet you are also a fan of fine Bethesda gaming software.
Why could USA not defeat the Afghanis?
>>32794302
because they lack the political will to kill every man woman and child.
I fail to see the defeat.
We weren't fighting the Afghanis.
