Hello /k/omrades, I'm new to revolvers. I acquired an antique Colt 1892 DA, but not without some problems. Apparently these guns are notorious for being quite finicky and fragile, but I want this gun to be shootable as it's classified as an antique firearm here in Canada and that means I can carry it in the bush.

My first problem is the barrel. It's shot. And not just worn out, it's bent. Now I was wondering if it would work to machine and thread a 10mm Glock barrel to fit. This old Colt is a 41 caliber long colt, and from what I read it should be fairly close. Would the polygonal rifling present a problem in a firearm like this? And would the barrel be too hard to turn on a lathe?

My second problem is the lockup. It's fairly loose, and I was thinking either the hand or the ratchet is worn out. I was wondering if anyone could give advice or point me in the right direction here.

I can only find one supplier that actually has parts for these guns, but export laws down in the states make my options severely limited...

Uh, have you taken it to a gunsmith for any kind of advice or an estimate on what should really be done and at what cost?
>>
>>32804452
I did, but he wasn't very familiar with these guns, and he basically told me that he couldn't help me much... The barrel is the main problem and I was wondering if anyone has experience doing this type of shit

Are you lost, friend?
>>
>>32804557
If he told yoj he couldnt help you maybe its because ot5s a lost cause?
I'd take it to another gunsmith.

>10mm glock barrel
Barrel blanks are a thing that exists.

>Worn ratchet or hand
Go talk to a watercutting/lasercutting shop if you cant find replacement parts. Otherwise, you're limited to welding a bead on it and recutting.

This will require money.

I'm afraid it might be close. But I refuse to believe it's a lost cause. I may be stupid, but I'm kinda hoping to do it myself. The only thing I don't have access to is a milling machine

That's more or less what I was thinking. I couldn't find a barrel blank for an 41 long colt, so I obtained a 10mm which from my understanding should be about .400, and I measured these .41 caliber bullets at .404 or so.

A laser cutting shop is definitely an interesting idea, I'll keep that in mind
